A white whirlwind shot toward Turles, but he dodged it with ease.
"Damn it! What did you do to Piccolo and Gohan?!"
The newcomer was Son Goku, glaring furiously at the man before him.
"Heh heh heh. Kakarot, the traitor has finally shown himself."
Turles sneered.
"I'm not Kakarot! I'm Son Goku!"
Goku shouted. Then, staring at the man who looked almost exactly like him, he was stunned.
"Who are you? Why do you look so much like me?"
"I'm Turles. My father and your father, Bardock, were brothers."
According to the original Dragon Ball setting, all Low-Class Warriors looked alike, but that wasn't the case in this universe.
Whatever the truth, Son Goku still refused to acknowledge these evil Saiyans as his relatives.
Li Feng grumbled: Goku had killed off all his Saiyan relatives, and he didn't even spare a future version of himself. (Goku Black from Dragon Ball Super.)
Gohan: Dad, that's why I got rid of you first during the Cell Saga.
If Raditz could speak: Kakarot, you're incredible. If our father were still alive, you might've killed him too.
Poor Goku. Aside from his son, all his surviving relatives were evil villains.
Back to the story.
Goku didn't react much to Turles's identity. He was simply furious that his friends and child had been hurt.
"You dared to wreak havoc on Earth and hurt innocent people! I'll never forgive you!"
Goku shouted angrily.
"Kakarot, join my army, and I'll spare you and your son!"
Turles still hoped to recruit Goku.
"Kaio-ken!"
Goku didn't waste words. He immediately used the Kaio-ken.
Crimson flames erupted around him, and a tremendous aura surged into the sky!
"What?!"
The combat scouter showed Goku's power level rising nonstop!
Turles couldn't understand it. How could Kakarot's power have been lower than his at first, only to surpass him completely now?
"Ha!"
Before Turles could react, a crimson blur appeared right in front of him.
Bam!
A fist as big as a cooking pot smashed into Turles's nose, spraying blood everywhere.
Turles flew backward like a cannonball, crashing through several massive branches of the Tree of Might.
"Bastard!"
Turles cursed, clutching his nose.
"Hyah!"
Goku was still furious. Crimson flames surged around him as he charged at Turles again.
Turles hurriedly raised both arms to block, but Goku's heavy punch left his arms numb with pain. Then Goku used the Kaio-ken's speed to circle behind him and kick him.
The armor on Turles's back shattered. His back felt as if it had been struck by a massive hammer, and he spat out another mouthful of blood.
"Cough! Ah!"
Turles had long since lost his initial composure. He fled deeper into the tree's branches in a sorry state.
Whoosh!
Goku pursued him relentlessly, wreathed in crimson flames.
"Heh, Kakarot, don't get cocky. Once I eat the fruit of the Tree of Might, you're as good as dead!"
Turles snarled.
The Tree of Might continued growing at a frenzied pace across the outside world. Branches and vines sprouted everywhere. Grasslands and forests became wastelands, cities crumbled into ruins, and Earth's environment deteriorated at an accelerating rate.
In return, the fruit on the Tree of Might began to ripen!
Just as Goku was about to catch up with Turles again, Turles spotted a ripe fruit on a branch ahead.
Crunch!
Turles plucked the fruit and immediately took a bite.
Boom!
His injuries vanished, and his muscles swelled even larger.
A powerful aura burst from Turles!
"Heh heh! This is where it ends!"
Feeling the seemingly endless power within him, Turles laughed and crushed the rest of the fruit in his hand.
His power level had now far surpassed Goku's, reaching a staggering 325,000!
Bam!
Goku's fist, wrapped in crimson flames, swung toward Turles's head again, but this time Turles caught it firmly in his right hand.
"What?!"
Now it was Goku's turn to be shocked. He couldn't believe Turles's ki had grown so powerful!
"Hmph. I'll pay you back tenfold for what you just did to me!"
Turles grinned viciously, then slammed his knee into Goku's stomach with lightning speed.
With a thunderous crash, Goku doubled over like a shrimp and painfully vomited bile.
"Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!"
Turles's hands became machine guns, battering Goku relentlessly.
With his ki surging, Turles's strength, speed, and physical toughness had all increased dramatically. Goku was completely overwhelmed.
"Tenfold Kaio-ken!"
Whoosh!
An even denser crimson aura erupted from Goku, and his power level soared in an instant.
Bam!
Unfortunately, even after giving it everything he had, Goku was still slightly weaker than Turles. Turles kept him pinned down and punched him to the ground.
"Die!"
Turles grinned wickedly, forming a purple Ki Cannon in one hand and unleashing his fury on Goku.
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The purple blasts mercilessly ravaged Goku's body, tearing him to pieces.
"Argh!"
Goku's agonized scream pierced the sky.
The massive branches of the Tree of Might shattered under Turles's energy blasts, and Goku was sent flying.
"Hmph, Kakarot, this is what you get for being a traitor!"
Turles laughed, then fired a deadly energy blast at Goku as he lay on the ground.
If Goku took that attack, he would surely die!
But a sudden white energy ball knocked Turles's attack aside.
"Hm? Who else is this?"
Turles turned and saw that nearly all the Z Fighters had arrived.
Piccolo and Gohan, whom he'd thought he had already taken out, had somehow come back to life. Krillin, Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and the others were there too, all fully recovered and glaring furiously at Turles.
But Turles's gaze remained fixed on the handsome young man at the front.
Li Feng had arrived at the last moment.
He had swept away all of Turles's underlings like trash.
Li Feng and Krillin had even acted as couriers, finding the injured and those on the brink of death and giving them Senzu Beans to recover.
You had to hand it to the main cast: they were tough. They only ever died when the original plot demanded it. Otherwise, they were as tenacious as cockroaches.
Krillin: Was that really necessary?
"Take Goku and eat a Senzu Bean, then get out of here. It's too dangerous," Li Feng told Krillin and the others.
"Then we're counting on you!"
"Please make sure you beat that bastard!"

Though they were reluctant, everyone knew they still weren't strong enough to fight Turles, so they left the battlefield to Li Feng.
