Vegeta's body fell limply like a kite with its strings cut.
His breath was faint, and nearly every bone in his body had been broken. Through blurry vision, he saw Recoome swaggering toward him. Despair and unwillingness welled up inside him.
I didn't die at Frieza's hands, nor did I die at Li Feng's. I refuse to die like this!
Vegeta shouted in defiance.
"Die, Vegeta! Go to hell and repent!"
With that, Recoome launched an energy ball.
Looking at the energy ball before him, Vegeta knew his body couldn't take another hit. This would surely kill him.
Powerless, Vegeta could only watch as the energy ball flew toward him like the Grim Reaper. At last, he could only close his eyes...
"Boom!"
The energy ball slammed into Vegeta without mercy.
"Hmph, Recoome, you were having so much fun beating him up that you forgot to ask Vegeta where the Dragon Balls were?"
Ginyu reminded him.
"Aw, I forgot for a moment. Looks like Vegeta was too fragile."
Recoome laughed, rubbing his pineapple-shaped hair.
"Really? You lot look pretty fragile to me, too."
A stranger's voice suddenly rang out.
"What?"
As the dust cleared, a strange man stood in front of where Vegeta had fallen. His side-swept bangs fluttered in the wind, and his confident smile gave him an imposing air.
"Vegeta, were you really that eager to die? Kakarot still has to fight you. How'd you let these nobodies beat you up so badly?"
Li Feng said with a laugh.
Just after the four of them had finished unlocking their potential, Li Feng sensed people fighting in the distance and rushed over at once.
Vegeta was lucky to be alive. He'd been just a little while away from kicking the bucket.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
Three figures flew over from the distance and landed beside Li Feng, facing off against the Ginyu Force.
"Oh? The guys on the other side are pretty strong. Is this the Ginyu Force Li Feng told us about?"
Goku said in surprise.
"Uncle Li Feng is amazing! He really was right!"
Gohan said.
"Even Vegeta's been beaten up this badly? But the other side doesn't look that strong."
Piccolo sensed their battle powers and sounded doubtful.
Of course they didn't. All four of them had unlocked their potential, and even Gohan and Piccolo, the two with the lowest battle powers, were now over 100,000. Naturally, the Ginyu Force didn't look like much to them.
"Who are you? Vegeta's companions?"
Jeice looked over their battle powers. They were all around five thousand.
"Too weak. I can take them all on by myself."
Burter said disdainfully.
"Good! Let me keep going. That last fight wasn't nearly enough fun."
Recoome was eager for another go.
"Enough talk. One each. I want the cocky kid."
Ginyu pointed at Li Feng.
"Then I'll fight that spiky-haired guy!"
Recoome pointed at Goku.
"The green-skinned one's a Namekian, right? I haven't killed enough of those yet."
Burter chose Piccolo.
"Huh? How boring. I have to play with a kid?"
Jeice looked at Gohan with disdain.
While the Ginyu Force was busy talking, Li Feng gave Vegeta a Senzu Bean and said,
"Eat this, then finish them off!"
Vegeta was still stunned that Li Feng and the others had shown up—and that Li Feng had saved him. His feelings were a tangled mess.
"Gulp."
After swallowing the Senzu Bean, Vegeta's shattered bones healed instantly, and his strength returned. His cells, muscles, and everything else brimmed with vitality. He had been given a new lease on life!
"Ha!"
Vegeta roared.
Boom!
A terrifying burst of ki exploded!
Vegeta's feelings were complicated. His pride had once again been wounded, and Li Feng had saved him.
"Thanks for saving me."
"What? The proud Vegeta actually thanked someone!"
Piccolo was stunned.
"Hmph, consider this a favor I owe you. My grudge with Li Feng can wait. Right now, we need to beat the hell out of the Ginyu Force!"
Vegeta said.
"The tall blue one is extremely fast, and he has a fusion technique with the short red one. The purple-clad captain is the strongest. Watch out."
"Heh, I've changed my mind, Vegeta. Looks like I'll have to kill you with my own hands after all."
Recoome grinned at Vegeta.
"Eh? Then I'll fight that purple-skinned guy."
Goku scratched his head.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
The eight of them each found an opponent and began to fight.
Li Feng was happy to watch from the sidelines.
After Vegeta had come back from the brink of death, his battle power had reached 70,000. He could easily crush everyone except Ginyu.
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The four battles shook the earth, sending mountains crumbling.
"Pfft!"
"Argh!"
"Cough!"
"Yah!"
Before long, four cries of pain rang out from the sky. Then the four fighters in Battle Suits crashed to the ground, each landing in a separate crater like a radish being planted.
The Ginyu Force had been utterly defeated!
Vegeta was both astonished and delighted. He was astonished that the other three had defeated the Ginyu Force so easily, and delighted that after eating the Senzu Bean, his battle power had doubled. Recoome was no match for him.
"What? Li Feng, the Ginyu Force is pretty weak!"
Goku scratched his head.
"We've just gotten a lot stronger. Looks like Frieza isn't all that much after all."
Piccolo was getting overconfident again.
"Incredible. How did you all become so strong?"
Vegeta was stunned.
"So you're Vegeta? You don't seem all that strong."
Goku said bluntly.
"You're Kakarot? Hmph, I'll deal with you later!"
Vegeta stubbornly retorted.
In fact, he'd been keeping an eye on the other three during the fight, and their battle powers had shocked him.
Goku's battle power was far beyond his own, to say nothing of the Saiyan kid, whose battle power was a little higher than his. He was no match for them.
"I can fight on my own now, too!"
Gohan was thrilled that he'd been able to defeat an enemy with his own hands.
"Cough, cough, cough! What was that? Where did those strong guys come from?"
Burter pushed aside a rock, stunned.
"Impossible! I just saw that their battle powers were only a few thousand."
Jeice stared at his Scouter, trembling.
"Even Vegeta's a lot stronger than before."
Recoome was puzzled, too.
"This is bad. Looks like only the king can handle them."
Ginyu quietly wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Finish them off quickly, or Frieza will be here soon!"
Li Feng warned them.
The four had already begun to look to Li Feng as their leader. At his words, they launched another attack.
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Vegeta, Goku, Gohan, and Piccolo powered up!
At once, four waves of ki raged like tornadoes.
"Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!"
The numbers on Jeice's Scouter kept climbing.
"N-no way!"
"Bang!"
At last, the Scouter exploded!
