Indeed.
After hearing Saigo's words, Bardock and Tarble immediately stared at him with fish-eyed disbelief.
They couldn't believe their ears!
The words "my battle power only recently passed one hundred million" echoed through their minds.
The guilt on Bardock's face had long since vanished, replaced by shock, awe, and admiration.
Tarble's expression was no different.
So!
Their teacher's battle power had already reached the hundred-million level!
Amazing!
No wonder he was the one chosen by the Super Saiyan God!
What they didn't know was that Saigo had actually understated his strength. If he'd told them the truth, they probably wouldn't have been pleasantly surprised—they'd have been horrified.
The kind of horror that could knock them unconscious!
"Teacher, you're incredible! Your battle power actually broke through one hundred million!" Tarble exclaimed sincerely.
His eyes shone with fervent admiration.
Bardock was no exception. Though he said nothing, he seemed to have become a devout believer, his fiery gaze revealing boundless respect, affection, and gratitude toward Saigo.
At that moment, everything suddenly became clear to him, and he felt much better.
So that was it.
What mattered most wasn't comparing yourself to others.
It was comparing yourself to who you were yesterday. As long as you did better each day than you had the day before, that meant you were succeeding!
When Saigo turned his questioning gaze toward him, Bardock immediately stood tall, his old vigor returning. He said loudly, "Thank you for your guidance, King Saigao. I understand! Please look forward to seeing what I can do from now on!"
Saigo looked quite pleased. At least his long lecture hadn't been for nothing—his mouth was practically dry!
Tarble, quick to notice, immediately poured a glass of water and brought it over. "Teacher, please have some water!"
Not bad!
This disciple had been worth taking on!
Regardless of what he achieved in the future,
at the very least, he was highly perceptive!
"Thank you!" Saigo said, taking the glass and draining it in one go.
"Of course! There's no need to thank me!" Tarble replied, waving his hand.
"No, it's not something you're obligated to do. No one is born to serve others. I should be thanking you—that's basic courtesy!" Saigo retorted.
"Being able to serve you is my honor, Teacher!" Tarble replied with a cheerful smile.
He felt no nervousness at all around Saigo!
He felt completely at ease.
Saigo composed himself, then explained to Bardock in detail, "Bardock, since your battle power was 460,000 before, it's now 4.6 million. That's above the minimum battle power of three million needed to transform into a Super Saiyan, so you should be able to do it!"
Bardock and Tarble were both astonished. Their pupils contracted to pinpoints in an instant.
They'd both been mentally prepared, figuring their battle power might have passed one million. But they hadn't expected it to increase tenfold, reaching the astonishing total of 4.6 million!
That was a full ten times as much—not once or twice as much!
What an absurd increase!
King Saigao actually possessed such a heaven-defying technique!
No wonder using the technique just once had left King Saigao so exhausted!
King Saigao cared so much about the Saiyans in every way. He truly was the greatest King of Saiyans in history.
At that moment, Bardock and Tarble regarded Saigo with profound respect, elevating him even higher in their hearts.
Saigo, unaware of what the two of them were thinking, continued explaining how to transform into a Super Saiyan.
"Bardock, give it a try. The key to transforming into a Super Saiyan is anger. Think about something that makes you furious—the angrier you are, the easier it'll be. Go on, give it a try!"
"I'll give it a try!" Bardock said eagerly, closing his eyes and carefully recalling the things that made him angry.
There wasn't a Saiyan alive who would turn down the chance to become a Super Saiyan!
As Bardock closed his eyes, Saigo and Tarble watched expectantly.
One second.
Three seconds.
Five seconds.
Boom!
The aura around Bardock abruptly burst forth, climbing higher and higher.
In the blink of an eye, it reached its peak.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
His powerful aura formed gust after gust of fierce wind that swept rapidly outward, almost blowing the much weaker Tarble away.
Fortunately, Saigo quickly stepped in front of him and shielded him, keeping him from being swept off his feet!
As Bardock's aura reached its peak, his fists clenched, and his face twisted into a fierce grimace.
The next moment, his hair suddenly turned yellow, then quickly returned to black. For several seconds, the two colors alternated more than a dozen times.
Just as Saigo thought Bardock was about to succeed, Bardock suddenly opened his eyes and dropped to his knees with a thud. He panted heavily, his mouth wide open, while sweat poured down him. It was as if the attempt had drained every last bit of strength from his body.
"Uncle Bardock, are you okay?" Tarble asked with concern once Bardock had caught his breath a little.
After recovering somewhat, Bardock stood up, still breathing hard. Beads of sweat glistened on his forehead.
Saigo asked, "How do you feel?"
"I... feel like... I'm just a little short!" Bardock replied, still not quite recovered, his words coming out in fits and starts.
But there was no discouragement in his eyes. Instead, they shone with excitement.
"That means you're very close to transforming. Rest for a bit, then try again. Remember, don't just focus on getting angry. At the same time, gather as much of the energy in your body into your back as you can. Don't suppress your emotions. You can shout as loudly as you like—shouting can draw out the energy lying dormant within you! That should do the trick!" Saigo instructed him again.
Bardock's eyes burned with determination, as if success were already within his grasp.
"Yes! Thank you for your guidance, King Saigao! I'll definitely succeed next time!"
"If you manage to transform, that'll be the best thanks you could give me!" Saigo said with a faint smile. Then he turned to Tarble. "Tarble, go train in the Gravity Chamber outside for now. Remember not to rush. Take it step by step and build a solid foundation! Also, tell the others outside not to make a fuss. They should focus on their own work!"
"Yes, Teacher! I'll take my leave now! Goodbye, Teacher!"
"Go ahead!"
Tarble bowed, then quickly headed outside.
Five minutes later.
Bardock had finally rested enough to attempt the transformation a second time.
Before trying, he repeated Saigo's instructions under his breath.
"Anger! Gather the energy in my back!"
Then he closed his eyes and officially began his attempt to transform into a Super Saiyan.
One second!
Two seconds!
Three seconds!
Boom!
A powerful aura suddenly erupted from Bardock, then surged to its peak within moments.
The next instant, his hair suddenly turned yellow and stayed that way for two seconds, instead of changing back and forth as rapidly as it had the first time!
Excellent!
He had a chance!
Seeing this, Saigo knew Bardock was onto something, so he urged him on again. "Push harder! Give it everything you've got! Shout as loud as you can!"
