There were hundreds, even thousands, of places on Planet Saiyan where the same scene was playing out. Everyone dreamed of becoming one of the four Super Saiyans fighting in the sky, but no one thought they'd been treated unfairly. They just felt they weren't good enough to catch King Saigo's eye.
Unlike Saigo and Bardock's previous battle, which had drawn spectators from start to finish, the curious Saiyans this time watched for less than five minutes before returning to their daily training.
But this time, far away, there was another unexpected yet entirely reasonable observer watching the battle between the four Super Saiyans on Planet Saiyan.
"Four more Super Saiyans!"
"What kind of race are the Saiyans, anyway? How do they keep producing Super Saiyans one after another? They're even stronger than Frieza's Frost Demon Race. On Planet Saiyan, the battle among the four Super Saiyans finally came to an end.
By the time they found Saigo, he'd already been training for over an hour. Interestingly, Bardock had come along too.
"What else is there?" Saigo asked, stopping after finishing another set of exercises.
Vegeta III immediately replied, "Your Majesty, the four of us discussed it and decided we should tell the other clan members that your special technique consumes your lifespan. We've come to ask your permission."
Wiping the sweat from his brow, Saigo glanced at the others and asked, "Do you all really think so too?"

After receiving their confirmation, Saigo's gaze sharpened as he considered it.
He no longer had to worry about their loyalty, but he'd created five Super Saiyans in two consecutive rounds. If he didn't offer some explanation, it would contradict the principle he usually taught—that all clan members should be treated equally. It might also cause the others to grow resentful or develop the misguided notion that they could become Super Saiyans simply by relying on him, weakening their motivation to train.
Even if they did manage to become Super Saiyans, they'd lose the drive to keep improving.
He didn't want that to happen.
Revealing this fabricated "drawback" would prevent them from relying too heavily on his special ability while also motivating them to train harder.
Two birds with one stone!

It was a workable plan!
Without even looking up, he said, "Fine, I agree. Tell them as well that each person can only use this secret technique once; it can't be used indefinitely. The higher their base battle power, the greater the increase after using it. Also, tell them I'll continue improving the technique. They need something to look forward to, don't they?"

When the other Saiyans learned that Saigo had used up his own lifespan to draw out Bardock, Vegeta III, and the others' potential, they admired and revered him. Another reason they finally put the idea out of their minds was that Bardock, Vegeta III, and the others revealed a fact that made them both envious and impressed: Saigo's strength, from the very beginning, had come entirely from his own hard work and training.
They also revealed that Saigo trained every single day.
In the end, the Saiyans finally put the idea out of their minds. They still held on to hope, but now they only hoped Saigo would soon improve the secret art that drew out people's potential.
That day, Saigo didn't bring Broly back to Planet Saiyan. Instead, he planned to let Tarble and the other three spend a few days getting used to their Super Saiyan transformations first.
Time flew by.
It was soon March 16, 740.
Dawn was just breaking.
The King of Saiyans' private sleeping quarters—the Yangxin Palace. Saigo had given the palace its name; before that, it had been an unnamed building.
Saigo broke with his usual routine and slept in that morning.
He had something important to do!
He planned to use up all the simulation attempts he'd accumulated to improve his skills and various abilities.
"Hmm, I have 236 simulation attempts now. Before heading to Namek, I'll learn the Destructo Disc and raise the proficiency of all my skills as much as I can!"
"Hopefully, I won't run out of attempts!"
