Background / History

Turles was born to the low-class Saiyans Bardock and Modosi. His records list a birth power level of 140; after completing cultivation and two months of training, he was dispatched to Wild Planet NG-8848. Contact with him was lost less than a year later, and a later search found the planet reduced to a desert world. 140

Modosi never told Bardock that Turles existed. Shortly before Turles was sent away, she revealed Bardock's identity to him; when Turles secretly sought Bardock out and saw him with Gine, he came to hate the father who had never known of his birth. Modosi later died during a mission. 172

While fleeing the natives of NG-8848, Turles discovered the Tree of Might on Planet N-G-8868. He consumed seven fruits, found eight seeds beneath the tree, then returned to NG-8848 and planted one in pursuit of revenge. He used an Artificial Moon to become a Great Ape and seized two more fruits before being forced to flee again. 171

After more than a decade on the run, he was cornered by pursuers and prepared to make a last stand. Saigo located him, restrained him with Telekinesis, and revealed that the Saiyans now ruled the universe. 168 169 171 Saigo also disclosed Turles's parentage and his mother's death, then brought him into the Saiyans' sphere of influence. 172

Rather than immediately returning to Planet Saiyan, Turles chose to visit Earth and meet Sun Wukong first, as Wukong's strength was close to his own. 173 174 The two later trained together under Saigo's guidance and became regular sparring partners. 178 321

Personality

Turles's early life left him bitter toward Planet Vegeta's ruling class and hostile toward Saiyans of middle or high warrior rank. He viewed the exile of low-class warriors as fundamentally unjust and initially swore to overthrow King Vegeta if he survived. 169

He is calculating and survival-minded. When Saigo captured him, Turles immediately tried to invoke their shared Saiyan identity, questioned Saigo's rank, power, and legion, and looked for an opening despite being completely restrained. 169 His former ambitions included conquering the universe, though he later stated that he wished to follow Saigo instead. 171

His resentment does not erase his capacity for attachment. He is visibly affected by the truth about Modosi, asks after her welfare, and gradually shifts from pursuing old grudges to pursuing Saigo's strength. 172 371
