Mu Chuan's Challenge!

"Have you still not found that band of traitors?"

Frieza hovered outside the spaceship, looking amiably at the group of aliens before him.

Though he seemed amiable, only the members of the Frieza Force knew that Lord Frieza was a volatile man.

One wrong word could cost you your life.

The group of aliens trembled as they replied, "M-My lord, we've already searched all the places those Saiyans passed through."

"But... but..."

"Oh, is that so?" Frieza's tail suddenly stretched out, wrapped around one of the aliens, and yanked him over.

The alien panicked completely.

He was terrified out of his wits!

"Spare me, my lord! Spare me!"

"We really did our best, but without a definite lead, it's genuinely difficult to track them down. We can only send more people and take more time..."

"Please give us a little more time, my lord."

Perhaps because he was staring death in the face, the alien suddenly found his voice.

But Frieza was already seething with anger and would tolerate no mistakes. He tightened his tail and hurled the alien into outer space.

There was a deafening boom.

The alien punched straight through a planet.

He died on the spot.

The other aliens panicked too.

Not one dared utter a word. They didn't even dare tremble, afraid of displeasing Frieza.

"A bunch of good-for-nothings!"

"It takes you this long to find a few stinking monkeys? What use are you?"

Frieza's presence was terrifying. The aliens before him lowered their heads, afraid to meet his gaze.

Just then, a spaceship flew back, and Zarbon stepped out.

"My lord, an unknown fighter has appeared ahead. After I announced your name, he even declared that he wanted you to come to him."

"Faced with such insolence, I couldn't let him do as he pleased. But everyone I sent was wiped out in an instant."

"With no other choice, I came to report this to you."

Zarbon relayed the information from ahead, then stood silently, afraid Frieza might take his anger out on him.

Frieza swished his tail. Ripples spread through the vacuum of space, a sign of just how terrifying his power was—and how truly enraged he had become.

The calmer he seemed, the angrier he was.

"Oh-ho-ho-ho... How interesting. This is simply too interesting!"

"Anyone thinks they can challenge me, Frieza, Emperor of the Universe. I suppose the life-forms of this universe won't know who rules them until they learn what fear is!"

He was furious!

Incensed!

His power surged in an instant.

He didn't even bother with the spaceship.

With a boom, he launched himself forward.

In the blink of an eye,

every planet along his path was destroyed, and even those a little farther away suffered severe damage.

The natives on many planets were reduced to ashes.

Only the planets farther away escaped unscathed.

Seeing this, North Kai's heart ached, but there was nothing he could do to stop it. All he could do was silently pray that Mu Chuan really could handle Frieza.

Otherwise, things would get out of hand!

That's right!

The one blocking the way was Mu Chuan.

To avoid putting himself at a disadvantage, he would never fight in the vacuum of space. That would mean pitting his weakness against someone else's strength.

Besides, Frieza was no pushover.

As Frieza continued forward and reached the area Zarbon had reported, he spotted a figure in the distance. The figure stood tall and straight.

Though he couldn't sense any ki, he could feel a strange presence.

Frieza focused his gaze.

Then he laughed!

He laughed with unrestrained delight.

"Ha ha ha ha ha..."

"Well, well. I searched for so long, and all this time you stinking monkeys were here. And you even dared to challenge me, your lord!"

"Interesting. This is so very interesting!"

"But... I'm rather curious. What made you dare show yourself?"

Facing Frieza, Mu Chuan remained relatively calm. Things were different now; he finally had the strength to fight Frieza head-on.

"I heard you were looking for me, so I came out!"

"Long time no see... my lord!"

Frieza was taken aback. He never imagined things would turn out this way. Did this Saiyan not know what would happen once Frieza found him?

"I like you more and more." After a brief pause, Frieza regained his composure.

"If you hadn't angered me, I would have let you become the most powerful being in the universe after me. But unfortunately..."

"You defeated the Armored Squadron, so you clearly have some tricks up your sleeve. But... that's all they are."

"I gave you the chance to keep scraping by, so you should have treasured it."

"And what if I refuse?" Mu Chuan was getting impatient. If Frieza kept talking, who knew how long he'd go on.

Besides, after Frieza appeared, Mu Chuan immediately noticed that something was different about him.

In the past, Frieza should still have been in his first form, and he would have stayed in his small flying pod.

Frieza had only a little over a hundred million in battle power. That was nothing compared to Mu Chuan's strength, and certainly not enough to give him the exhilarating fight he craved.

But Frieza's transformation gave him hope.

A truly exhilarating fight!

He needed one to break through his bottleneck. Otherwise, his base battle power would be difficult to raise, and Super Saiyan would remain stuck at its basic level.

Frieza's appearance was exactly the opportunity he needed!!
