"Damn, why is this so hard?" Reke opened his eyes with a bitter smile.
It had been a month since he left Planet Vegeta.
During that time, ever since waking up in the incubator, Reke had been trying to sense the energy inside his body.
It had been completely useless.
Aside from discovering that he was much stronger than he had been in his previous life, he hadn't sensed a thing.
The harder he tried to clear his mind, the less he could. His head was full of random thoughts.
He thought about his previous life, Frieza, Kakarot, or the hidden folder on his phone.
Every modern person knew how hard it was to empty their mind, let alone sense the energy inside their body.
"Damn it, are you going to have to wait until you're dying before you finally get it? You're already at death's door, so why are you still thinking about this crap?" Reke cursed inwardly.
"You've already died once and still don't know to cherish life. This is a world where people can casually blow up planets. Can't you focus on your battle power?"
"Do you want to die without knowing why again, like in your previous life?"
Reke clenched his fists and thumped himself hard on the head twice. A burst of pain jolted his brain into stillness.
"Damn!"
He had still underestimated the energy in his body. It was nothing compared to Frieza's first-form battle power of 530,000, but it was far beyond the useless body he'd had in his previous life.
Just think about Kakarot's first appearance: with a battle power of only 10, he could already withstand Bulma's gun. Reke had a battle power of 30 now, and he hadn't held back when he hit himself, so it was only natural that he felt pain.
"Damn it, if I ever meet those people who write about three-year-old Super Saiyans, I'll kill them."
"A bunch of pieces of shit."
Reke couldn't hold it in anymore. He felt like destroying everything.
He couldn't help it. The pressure was too much.
He'd finally managed to leave Planet Vegeta and escape disaster, but the threat of death still weighed on him every moment.
If he didn't curse and let it out, he was afraid he'd go crazy.
After letting it all out, Reke could only force himself to calm down. He stopped thinking about achieving everything in one leap and focused on clearing his mind first.
Not thinking about all the random things was a small victory in itself.
Hopefully, I can reach my goal in the remaining eleven months! Reke closed his eyes and thought.
Time didn't stop for Reke. Before he knew it, it had passed.
That day.
A meteor streaked through the sky above Udrapa Planet, a gigantic world of red, green, and yellow, breaking the stillness of the night.
"Boom!"
The spaceship plowed through countless towering trees before making intimate contact with the ground, leaving a crater more than a dozen meters across.
"Hiss!"
The circular spaceship's hatch slowly opened in the crater, and a thick cloud of white vapor billowed out.
Reke climbed out of the spaceship in his small body, dressed in the Frieza Force's yellow-and-black battle suit. A Scouter on his right ear was so large it covered nearly half his face.
"Beep, beep!"
Reke tapped the Scouter twice, and the battle powers of the life-forms around him appeared on its display.
"50, 15, 300, 3,000?"
"3,000? What the hell? What idiot surveyed this planet? That bastard's trying to get me killed!" Reke stared wide-eyed at the numbers on the Scouter, hardly able to believe what he was seeing.
A chill ran through him, and he burst into a string of curses.
Within a radius of dozens of kilometers, the highest battle power was only 50, and most were below 20. But the reading of 3,000, two thousand kilometers away, still made him dizzy.
For someone with a battle power of 3,000, crossing those two thousand kilometers would take no more than an hour.
It was no different from Reke landing right on someone's doorstep.
"Damn it, am I supposed to sit here and wait to die?" Two minutes later, Reke came to his senses and realized this wasn't the time to stand around in a daze.
He couldn't just wait here to die. He had to struggle, at least. What if that life-form wasn't intelligent?
Reke hurriedly jumped out of the spaceship, closed the hatch, and quickly filled in the crater. Then he picked a direction with low battle-power readings and sprinted off.
Two hours later, Reke had no idea how far he'd run. He stopped near a small mountain.
"That nearly scared me to death." Reke panted, resting his hands on his knees as he spoke in relief.
"Beep, beep!"
"20, 60, 30, 8, 25..."
Seeing no danger nearby and the life-form with a battle power of 3,000 still in the same place, Reke plopped down on the ground.
Only then did he have time to think.
"Damn it, this definitely isn't a low-level planet."
"Looks like I'll have to prepare for the long haul."
"For the next few days, I'll use the Scouter to scout out the area. Then I'll destroy this thing."
Having made up his mind, Reke looked around.
He was standing beside a small mountain more than a hundred meters tall, surrounded by towering trees.
Reke stretched out his right hand, clenched his fist, and punched the mountainside.
"Smack!" Pebbles fell at his feet.
A small dent appeared in the mountainside, and Reke felt a slight sting in his knuckles.
"I'm so strong!" Reke pulled back his fist, blew on it, and grinned smugly.
After indulging in his own awesomeness for a while, Reke knew his main priorities were finding shelter and a water source.
On such a dangerous planet, who knew whether the creatures here could hide their battle power?
He started searching around the mountain.
On the far side of the mountain, twenty kilometers away, he found a stream. Animal footprints were scattered along its banks, though he couldn't identify them.
That showed the stream was a water source for the local creatures. The water wasn't poisonous, so it was safe to drink.
It was also close to the mountain, so he could use the stream as a regular water source and the mountain as his shelter.
After looking around, Reke didn't leave. Instead, he hid in a tree, turned on the Scouter, and waited for prey to come for a drink.
He truly didn't dare go without the Scouter. He was afraid some monster would come along and kill him.
Although he'd been reincarnated as a Saiyan in this life and had a warrior's blood flowing through him, that didn't mean he wanted to go looking for death.
It wasn't something a normal person would do, choosing danger when a safe option was available. Reke considered himself a normal person.
Reke didn't have to wait long. A noise came from the nearby bushes. He stared in that direction, and the number "15" on the Scouter gave him confidence.
The first thing to come into view was a furry leg three meters long. When Reke saw the whole creature, he froze.
The creature looked somewhat like a wolf, but it was two or three times larger than the wolves from his previous life. Its sharp claws and pointed teeth showed it was a carnivore. The key thing was that it had two heads.
Reke looked at the creature, which stood more than six meters tall and stretched over a dozen meters long. Then he looked at his own arm, which was less than a meter long. Finally, he stared fixedly at the number "15" on the Scouter.
