Background / History

Tang San was originally a God King who had already lived in the God Realm for ten thousand years. While observing Huo Yuhao and Xiao Qi, a catastrophic force destroyed a portion of his soul and reached him through an unknown connection. His divine body subsequently exploded; Xiao Wu was caught in the disaster, and Tang San awakened again as his six-year-old self in Holy Soul Village. 18 19

At his second Martial Soul Awakening, he regained memories of his former life and revealed Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. Although Su Yuntao dismissed Blue Silver Grass as worthless, Tang San possessed Innate Full Soul Power. Tang Hao was overwhelmed upon learning of his son’s twin martial souls and instructed him to use the hammer to protect the grass. 18

Believing that preserving the original course of events would guarantee his return to the peak, Tang San initially restrained himself from making major changes. He reunited with Xiao Wu at Nuoding Academy and became Yu Xiaogang’s disciple in name, though he privately regarded Yu as unworthy of genuine respect and intended to use him only where useful. 19 66

At Shrek Academy, Tang San revealed a remnant of Asura God power to Tang Hao and asked him to investigate the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye for immortal herbs. The plan failed: Tang Hao was killed by Mu Ci, though Tang San initially believed his father had merely been captured and planned to use the Elite Tournament to rescue him. 68 74 103 127

His attempt to awaken the Blue Silver Empress bloodline ended disastrously when Lan, the Blue Silver King who had become the Blue Silver Empress, extracted Tang San’s bloodline. The loss weakened and warped his Blue Silver Grass. Despairing, Tang San discovered that the altered Martial Soul could drain a spirit beast’s blood and life force, recognizing it as Dark Blue Silver Grass and embracing forbidden secret arts to recover strength. 110 111

After the destruction of the Clear Sky Sect’s forces and Tang Hao’s confirmed death, Tang San escaped Martial Soul City with Tang Chen. He revealed his rebirth to the Asura God, who agreed to allow him to inherit both the Sea God and Asura God positions if he could complete the Sea God inheritance before Martial Soul Hall’s gods emerged. 160 165 167 177

Tang San later completed the Sea God’s Nine Trials and became the new Sea God. He immediately turned his attention toward revenge against Mu Ci, Qian Renxue, Martial Soul Hall, and the Shenzhou Empire, beginning his campaign with an attack on Vast Sea City. 212 215

Appearance

Following the extraction of his Blue Silver Empress bloodline and the mutation of his Martial Soul, Tang San’s appearance took on traits matching his Dark Blue Silver Grass. 111 113

  • Dark-red hair resembling congealed blood under sunlight. 113
  • Dark-red eyes that intermittently flash with an eerie purple hue. 113
  • Black-red Dark Blue Silver Grass vines covered in thorns, venom, and blood-like fluid. 113 114
  • Eight spider-like External Soul Bone lances erupting from his back in combat. 130
  • After becoming the Sea God, wears blue-gold Godly Equipment and manifests the Eight Wings of the Sea God. 212 215

Personality

Tang San is controlled and calculating when circumstances favor him. His status and memories as a former God King give him a deeply arrogant view of ordinary people; he considers arguments with mortals beneath him and privately disdains Yu Xiaogang despite accepting him as a teacher. 18 19

He initially approaches his rebirth methodically, attempting to reproduce the future he already knows. However, repeated deviations from that future—Tang Hao’s death, the loss of his Blue Silver Empress bloodline, and Mu Ci’s rise—erode this restraint. He becomes increasingly desperate, vengeful, and willing to use dangerous or corruptive methods to regain power. 66 110 111 177

Tang San is intensely attached to Xiao Wu and his remaining family. His desire to reunite with Xiao Wu in the God Realm motivates his early actions, while Tang Hao’s fate and the fall of the Clear Sky Sect become the foundation of his later revenge. 19 103 177

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, an extremely rare Twin Martial Soul combination. 18

  • Blue Silver Grass / Dark Blue Silver Grass — Originally a plant-type Martial Soul, later mutated after the Blue Silver Empress bloodline was extracted. 110 111
  • Clear Sky Hammer — A powerful second Martial Soul associated with the Clear Sky Sect; Tang San uses it despite the risk of exposing his identity. 142 143
  • His Clear Sky Hammer had no soul rings when he first used it in the Elite Tournament, but its immense inherent weight and his Spirit King-level power still made it formidable. 142
  • The hammer’s origin was damaged after clashing with Feng Xiaotian and Yun Wu’s Martial Soul Fusion Skill, causing Tang San to collapse. 143

Dark Blue Silver Grass

Tang San’s mutated Blue Silver Grass manifests as black-red, venomous, predatory vines. 111 113

  • Binds targets with thorned vines and injects venom. 111
  • Can drain a victim’s blood, life force, soul power, cultivation, and potentially bloodline talent. 111 124
  • Dark Blue Silver Soul-Devouring Spear — Forms a pitch-black spear for direct attacks. 124
  • Dark Blue Silver Devouring Formation — An offensive formation that spreads numerous spider-leg-like vines from the ground. 124
  • The Martial Soul’s predatory nature begins corroding Tang San’s own body, staining his nails and hair purple-black; its damage is later removed through Sea God trial tempering. 111 204

Eight Spider Lances

Tang San possesses the Eight Spider Lances, an External Soul Bone that erupts from his back as eight spider-like limbs. 66 103 130

  • Enhances mobility and enables rapid, spider-like charges. 130
  • Allows attacks from multiple angles while four lances support his body. 130
  • Requires recovery after severe damage; Tang San notes that the lances may need to regrow after his injuries. 108

Tang Sect Techniques

Tang San retains techniques and knowledge from his past, including methods originating from the Tang Sect and later eras. 18 125

  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — High-speed movement technique that produces afterimages. 68 110
  • Purple Demon Eye — Vision technique used to perceive the waterfall’s movements and locate an opening into Tang Hao’s hidden cave. 110
  • Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — Repeated hammer technique that stacks momentum and power over successive strikes. 142
  • Nine Absolute Clear Sky Techniques — Includes Quake, which creates a vibrational strike powerful enough to open a gap in a waterfall. 110
  • Uses hidden weapons, including blades, daggers, crossbow bolts, and other concealed tools. 106 108

Forbidden Mutation Techniques

After his own Martial Soul mutation, Tang San distributes corruptive secret techniques to his allies. 114 115

  • Pressures Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Yu Tianheng into accepting Martial Soul mutations. 115
  • Teaches Yu Xiaogang the Yin-Yang Reversal Secret Technique, transforming Luo Sanpao into a Dark Evil Dragon. 115
  • The techniques amplify negative emotions such as bloodlust, tyranny, and desire for power. 115

Divine Power

Tang San carries both Sea God and Asura God inheritances. 177 212

  • Asura God power — First manifests as a scarlet sword mark on his forehead; it can repel Mu Ci’s Abundance Domain. 68 161
  • Sea God Trident — His Divine Artifact after inheriting the Sea God position. 212
  • Thirteen Forms of the Golden Trident: Eons of Emptiness — Generates a destructive burst of golden divine power capable of forcing back multiple demigods. 217
  • Unfixed Storm and One Way Trip — Divine skills used to defeat and severely injure the Ice Dragon King. 216
  • Receives Asura God intervention during his battle with Qian Renxue, restoring his body and raising him to peak God Official level. 228

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Clear Sky Hammer — Tang San’s second Martial Soul and principal heavy weapon. 18 142
  • Eight Spider Lances — External Soul Bone used for movement, support, and lethal close-range attacks. 130
  • Sea God Trident — Divine Artifact acquired through the Sea God inheritance. 212
  • Asura Demon Sword — Weapon associated with the Asura inheritance; Tang San retrieves it after becoming the Sea God. 212
  • Blue-gold Godly Equipment — Sea God armor accompanied by the Eight Wings of the Sea God. 212 215
  • Hidden weapons — Includes sharp blades, daggers, and black-red crossbow bolts. 106 108

Relationships

  • Xiao Wu — Tang San’s closest companion and former co-holder of his divine position. Her death in the God Realm catastrophe drives his determination to begin again and bring her back. 19
  • Tang Hao — His father. Tang Hao supports Tang San’s early plans but is killed by Mu Ci; Tang San’s desire to rescue and avenge him becomes a central motivation. 18 68 74 177
  • Tang Chen — His great-grandfather and fellow Asura God trial participant. Tang Chen rescues Tang San from Martial Soul City and supports his plan to reach Sea God Island. 167 177
  • Yu Xiaogang — Tang San’s nominal teacher. Tang San does not genuinely respect him, but provides secret techniques and performs surgery on him after his injuries. 19 108 115
  • Bo Saixi — Calls Tang San “Xiao San” and assists his Sea God inheritance as Sea God Island’s High Priest. 204 212
  • Asura God — Evaluates Tang San’s weak comprehension of the Asura Law but permits him to pursue both the Asura and Sea God inheritances. 177
  • Mu Ci — Tang San’s primary enemy and suspected cause of multiple setbacks, including the depletion of his True Spirit energy and the destruction of his family. 108 177
  • Qian Renxue — A principal target of Tang San’s revenge and his divine opponent during the battle around Vast Sea City. 212 225 229
