Background / History

Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue investigate Tang San after discovering the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. They conclude that its Internal Energy cultivation method does not originate from the Douluo Plane and suspect that the Asura God or Sea God brought Tang San from another world. They further believe the Asura God bypassed normal God Trials to grant him divine inheritance and arranged for his resurrection after death 24 25.

During his early years, Tang San studies under Yu Xiaogang and possesses the Tang Sect's secret arts. After Wang Baoyu is injured by an excessive Soul Ring absorption, Tang San gives up his Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges storage belt as compensation. He later infiltrates Wang Baoyu's room, retrieves the belt, and considers killing him to prevent future retaliation, but ultimately leaves without doing so 381 382.

At Shrek Academy, Tang San and Xiao Wu reach level thirty and enter the Star Dou Forest for Soul Rings. He refines a massive Man Faced Demon Spider's Soul Ring and gains the Eight Spider Lances, an External Soul Bone 393 394. His later defeat by Yang Hao causes him to question Yu Xiaogang's development path for Blue Silver Grass 397.

Tang Hao attempts to awaken Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor bloodline using Ah Yin's Soul Ring after discovering that the Blue Silver King has been killed. The attempt only produces an unstable, partial transformation 418. Tang San later completes the evolution through the City of Slaughter, gaining Divine Slaughter's Domain and the Blue Silver Emperor martial soul 436.

Following the destruction of allied forces and the deaths of his father, aunt, and elder uncle, Tang San joins the Shrek Seven Devils in traveling to Sea God Island. They undergo the Sea God Nine Trials to gain sufficient power for revenge 443 444. Yang Hao and Bibi Dong later ambush Tang San, seize the Sea God Trident, and destroy Sea God Island, forcing Tang San and the Sea God's Divine Thought to flee into the Eastern Sea 446.

After ten years of cultivation, Tang San reaches Level 99 and uses the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well to refine the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings' Soul Rings and Soul Bones. He becomes the Sea God with a newly forged Sea God Trident, then completes his final ascension alongside his companions 447 448. Yang Hao immediately traps the group in an unknown space, kills them, and absorbs their Divine Souls to become the Douluo Plane's Plane Master 448.

Appearance

Tang San's appearance changes noticeably after his Blue Silver Grass evolves into the Blue Silver Emperor.

Tang San is determined and highly persistent, particularly when pursuing victory or protecting those he loves. He insists on winning the Soul Master Tournament even after Tang Hao warns that doing so may cost him a major opportunity 418. After the destruction of his family and allies, his grief becomes a driving force behind his decision to seek godhood at Sea God Island 443.

He can also show mercy and restraint. Although he suspects Wang Baoyu and Spirit Hall of conspiring against him, he chooses not to kill the incapacitated Wang Baoyu when he has the opportunity 382. However, his repeated defeats by Yang Hao leave him doubtful of his cultivation path and increasingly desperate to overcome the gap in power 397 445.

Tang San's conflict with Wang Baoyu begins with the Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges incident. Tang San retrieves the belt by stealth, while Wang Baoyu later reclaims it and publicly accuses him of theft at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 382 385. The feud escalates into a spirit battle where Yang Hao overwhelms the Shrek Seven Devils and exposes the shortcomings of Tang San's Blue Silver Grass development 397.

Tournament Struggles

Tang San repeatedly attempts to use teamwork, hidden weapons, the Clear Sky Hammer, and Purple Demon Divine Light to reverse Shrek's losses. His attempt to bear the Shrek team's fused Soul Power causes his Clear Sky Hammer to shatter and leaves him unconscious 406 407.
