This Is More Like It

Lin Fan held up one finger and added:

"There's one more thing you're overlooking. The Super Saiyan God form doesn't consume much ki or energy, which means it's better suited for prolonged battles."

Whis covered his mouth and laughed, looking at Lin Fan with approval in his eyes.

"Hahaha! Mr. Lin Fan is absolutely right. I was just about to bring that up."

Everyone turned to Whis in unison, waiting for him to continue.

Whis changed tack, deliberately keeping them in suspense.

"But take another good look. In a little while, Son Goku's power won't be any weaker than Vegeta's."

Piccolo and the others froze, their faces filled with confusion.

Krillin scratched his head and couldn't help asking:

"What do you mean, Lord Whis? Does Goku still have some hidden power he hasn't used?"

Piccolo furrowed his brow and chimed in gravely:

"Exactly. Son Goku is already in the Super God form. Is there an even stronger form?"

Son Gohan was just as confused. He had watched Son Goku train with his own eyes. Reaching Super God in seven days was already absurd. Could he really get even stronger?

Everyone speculated among themselves, tossing out one guess after another.

Only Lin Fan stood off to the side with a faint smile, pretending not to know as he said:

"Who knows? Maybe that's just the potential of the Saiyans. We'll just have to wait and see."

The battle high in the sky grew fiercer. Vegeta's fists rained down like a storm, each blow carrying enough force to destroy the heavens and earth.

Relying on his ability to sense God Ki, Son Goku kept dodging and blocking, but he was gradually driven onto the defensive.

Bang!

With another deafening crash, Vegeta dodged Son Goku's punch, then shot out his left hand and effortlessly caught Son Goku's incoming right leg with one hand.

Son Goku's pupils contracted. Just as he tried to pull his leg back, Vegeta's right fist slammed into his abdomen.

"Ugh!"

Son Goku let out a muffled groan and went flying hundreds of meters, like a kite with its string cut.

Clutching his stomach, he couldn't help coughing up a mouthful of bile. His face paled slightly.

"Damn, this guy really is strong."

Son Goku wiped the smear from the corner of his mouth. Even as pain throbbed through his abdomen, the fighting spirit in his eyes burned brighter.

He grinned and shouted to Vegeta:

"Hahaha! Super Saiyan 4 really is strong!"

"I've been holding back this whole time because I was afraid I might hurt you!"

"But it looks like I don't need to hold back anymore!"

"Vegeta! Watch closely! This is my full power!"

As he spoke, Son Goku slowly closed his eyes.

Boom!

A God Ki aura several times stronger than before erupted from his body. The terrifying pressure spread in every direction like a solid mountain.

Vegeta, who had been charging toward him, abruptly stopped. His expression changed at once.

He felt as though an invisible mountain were pressing down on him. His body could barely move, and he was forced to stagger back three steps before he could steady himself.

"What is this ki? How can it be so strong?"

Vegeta's eyes widened as he stared fixedly at Son Goku.

The people aboard the ship below noticed the change, too. Krillin was the first to react. Pointing up at Son Goku, he nearly bulged his eyes out as he cried:

"Look! Son Goku... his aura has changed!"

Everyone followed his gaze and instantly sucked in a breath.

The fiery red aura around Son Goku flickered with a faint blue light. Then the red aura receded like a tide, replaced by a pure, light-blue aura.

The aura contained an incredibly pure divine power, dazzling but not harsh.

Son Goku's hair and eyebrows had also changed from red to pure light blue, and even his pupils had turned blue. An air of supremacy radiated from him.

"W-what is this form?"

Krillin's mouth fell open wide enough to fit an egg, his face full of shock.

Piccolo sucked in a breath, disbelief written across his face.

"In just seven days, he first broke through to Super God, and now he's reached a new form!"

"That Son Goku is an absolute monster!"

Son Gohan trembled with excitement, his fists clenched.

"Dad! You're incredible!"

"Is this Dad's new form? A form that surpasses Super God!"

Everyone was stunned by the sight. They stood dumbfounded, unable to say a word.

Whis gazed up at Son Goku and chuckled behind his hand. Then he turned to Lin Fan and explained with a smile:

"Mr. Lin Fan, this form is called Super Saiyan God Blue."

"Son Goku came up with the name himself."

Lin Fan smiled faintly and nodded in approval.

Looking at the blue figure in the sky, he thought to himself:

Super Saiyan Blue has already surpassed Super Saiyan 4 in power.

But this battle is only just beginning.

Ten thousand meters in the sky, Vegeta stared at Son Goku's new form. He was taken aback at first, then snorted, the corners of his mouth lifting into an excited smile.

"You've been hiding this well, Son Goku. I didn't know you had a form like this."

"But now this is more like it."

"If I could beat you that easily, wouldn't this battle be far too boring?"
