"How troublesome... Very well, I shall contact Lord Champa and have him select a suitable candidate from Universe 6," Vados sighed. "Given your strength, you certainly have the potential to be a God of Destruction... but since you are unwilling, I shall not force you."
"Mm-hmm." Lu Fan smiled slightly.
Vados immediately contacted Champa through her staff and relayed everything the Grand Priest had said regarding the new universe.
"The Grand Priest wants to select new Gods of Destruction from across all universes? Why are you only telling me such important news now?" Champa asked, annoyed.
"I only just received the news myself," Vados sighed.
"Wouldn't it be better to have that kid Lu Fan become a God of Destruction? After all, he was trained by the two of us," Champa asked. "Although his strength isn't fully mature yet, if we continue to cultivate him, I believe he has the potential."
"He is unwilling to go," Vados shook her head.
"Unwilling? Why?" Champa was stunned.
"Lu Fan feels that once he becomes a God of Destruction, his life will be linked to the Supreme Kai, and if the Supreme Kai dies, he will vanish as well," Vados sighed.
"It is true that we Gods of Destruction have that limitation... but there is nothing to be done about it. Is he really refusing to become a God of Destruction over something like that?" Champa was speechless. "There can be several Supreme Kais; as long as one of them remains alive, we Gods of Destruction will not perish."
"Indeed, but since he refuses to sign up, please select a few suitable candidates from our Universe 6, Lord Champa," Vados suggested.
"Fine, I will bring a few people with me when I return," Champa agreed with a nod.
"Do remember to bring back the lemon tree," Vados said.
"Is the lemon tree more important, or the God of Destruction?" Champa asked irritably.
"Both are important," Vados smiled.
"Fine... I understand. I will bring both the lemon tree and the people back," Champa grumbled.
Two hours later.
Champa returned, carrying a massive tree on his shoulder.
Following closely behind him were two individuals.
Lu Fan recognized them both at a glance.
One was Hit, and the other was Frost.
"How about it, Vados? Let's choose one of these two to be the God of Destruction," Champa said to Vados.
"Very well," Vados had no objections.
"I'll ask you one more time, are you sure you don't want to sign up?" Champa asked Lu Fan again.
"Stop dawdling and go plant the tree," Lu Fan ordered.
Champa: "..."
This brat!
He's becoming increasingly disrespectful toward me.
"Lord Champa, who is this friend..." Frost stepped forward and asked respectfully.
"Uh, this is Lu Fan, my beverage flavorist," Champa introduced.
Frost: "..."
Frost was rendered speechless on the spot.
A beverage flavorist?
This guy is just a beverage flavorist.
And yet, a mere beverage flavorist dares to order Lord Champa around.
It must be that Lord Champa has a good temper and isn't holding it against him.
But whether Lord Champa holds it against him is his own business.
I, however, am in urgent need of making a good impression in front of Lord Champa.
"May I ask, what kind of beverages do you make?" Frost asked.
Lu Fan glanced at Frost and ignored him completely.
Frost felt a sting in his heart.
This kid is truly rude.
How dare you ignore my existence?
As for Hit, he simply stood to the side, watching coldly without saying a word.
"Lord Champa, have this lizard-looking fellow plant the tree," Lu Fan said.
In front of outsiders, Lu Fan was sensible enough not to call him a fat cat.
One must give people a little face, after all.
He is a God of Destruction, regardless.
"Go on, plant this big tree properly," Champa said, tossing the lemon tree directly at Frost.
Frost: "..."
Frost felt like crying.
Is this beverage blender really that important to Champa?
I am truly speechless.
Frost had no choice but to grit his teeth, dig a hole in the ground, and plant the tree inside.
"There is only one spot available to participate. Lord Champa, have you decided whether to choose Mr. Hit or Mr. Frost?" Vados asked.
"Just have them fight each other; whoever is stronger gets the spot." Champa grinned and commanded Hit and Frost, "Hey, you two, fight right here. Whoever falls or admits defeat, the other one wins."
"It's that simple?" Frost smiled politely.
Hit's expression remained calm, neither happy nor sad.
"Alright, begin," Champa signaled.
"My friend, I hear you are the number one assassin in the universe..." Frost asked, looking at Hit.
Hit did not speak, his expression appearing somewhat cold.
"I am an emissary of justice! Today, the emissary of justice and the number one assassin in the universe shall cross paths..." Frost declared with grand ambition.
"Enough, hurry up and start. You're acting like you're actually a good guy," Lu Fan sighed.
Frost: "..."
Frost had been in the middle of his grand, ambitious speech, but after being interrupted by Lu Fan, he immediately deflated.
"Hey, what are you saying? I am a good person!" Frost retorted indignantly.
"Vados, check his file and see what he's been doing behind everyone's back," Lu Fan said with a smile.
Vados thought for a moment, and ultimately, to save face for Lu Fan, she raised her staff and took a careful look.
"Oh, it seems Mr. Frost is indeed playing the part of both a hero and a villain," Vados said with a smile.
Frost: "..."
How does this woman know everything?
"What? What has this guy been doing?" Champa asked, stunned as he looked at Vados.
"Mr. Frost maintains justice on one hand, while secretly selling the planets he 'liberates' to others for massive profit," Vados replied.
Champa's expression darkened.
"It seems your character is not suited to be a God of Destruction," Champa said, narrowing his eyes.
"Huh?" Frost wiped away cold sweat.
"I will spare your life; fly back yourself," Champa said.
"That's not fair, Lord Champa!" Frost panicked instantly. "He is an assassin! Is he suited to be a God of Destruction?"
"I never said an assassin wasn't suited to be a God of Destruction, but a hypocrite would tarnish the reputation of the position," Champa replied.
Cold sweat poured down Frost's face.
I haven't even had a chance to cross blades with this assassin yet.
And I've already been eliminated?
My dream of becoming a God of Destruction has been shattered just like that.
Damn it!
All of this, every bit of it, was caused by this beverage blender.
I must teach him a lesson today.
