The appearance of the spaceship gave Bulma's family a little shock.
The ship had flown over their house once before.
Now it had come back.
"Dad, are they aliens?" Bulma asked her father, Dr. Briefs.
"Looks like it," Dr. Briefs said, adjusting his glasses.
"What do aliens want at our house?" Bulma's mother, Panchy, asked curiously as she looked at the advanced spaceship.
"I don't know. I hope they don't mean us any harm..." Dr. Briefs said.
"Clatter, clatter!"
Bulma hurried into her room and fetched the laser gun she had just made.
"Bulma, it's all right. Daddy's here, and I'll protect you," Dr. Briefs assured her. "Besides, alien life-forms should be reasonable. They must have come to see us for some reason. Maybe they're just visiting."
"Better safe than sorry. This gun is really powerful." Bulma nodded.
"Creak..."
The spaceship's hatch opened.
Vegeta stepped out first, with Lu Fan behind him.
"Aliens?" Bulma froze for a moment. "What? They don't look much different from us. And they're so short."
Dr. Briefs said nothing.
"Hmph. So this is Earth? The environment's not bad." Vegeta surveyed the surroundings with a faint smile, glancing at Bulma and the others in the distance.
"Hello. We're from the distant Planet Vegeta. My name is Lu Fan, and this is Vegeta." Lu Fan stepped forward and politely introduced himself to Bulma's family.
"Tch!" Vegeta snorted, his face full of disdain.
What was there to say to Earthlings?
Lu Fan, you really are hopeless.
"Wow, you really are aliens. You look a lot like us Earthlings, except you're a bit short." Bulma had no fear of the unknown.
"We're about the same height because we're about the same age," Lu Fan said with a smile.
"Huh? We're about the same age? How old are you?" Bulma asked curiously.
"Five." Lu Fan held up five fingers.
"I'm five too! So we're the same age." Bulma hurriedly replied.
"My, my, incredible! You're only five and you've already traveled to another planet," Dr. Briefs exclaimed. "Are you here on vacation?"
"Hmph, vacation? How childish. We came to conquer this planet," Vegeta scoffed from the side.
Thwack!
Lu Fan could no longer hold back. He blurred forward and slapped Vegeta on the back of the neck.
Vegeta didn't even have time to react before the blow landed.
He crumpled to the ground, already unconscious.
Just as Vegeta blacked out, a thought suddenly crossed his mind...

Hadn't I said I'd teach this kid a good lesson after we landed?
And then he went and ambushed me again.
That's unforgivable.
I completely forgot something that important.

"He was just joking. Don't take him seriously," Lu Fan said with a smile.
"You're only five, and you came to conquer Earth? How childish!" Bulma huffed, waving her laser gun. "This gun of mine is really powerful."
"He's the prince of our planet. He may have just been worn out from the trip. I hope you won't mind," Lu Fan hurriedly explained.
"Prince? You're saying he's the prince of your planet?" Bulma wiped her brow. "If your prince really acts like that, I'm afraid your planet is doomed..."
"You're right. Our race does have some serious problems. It's likely that only a handful of us will be left in the future," Lu Fan said with a nod.
"You're pretty easy to talk to." Bulma smiled, her guard relaxing. She casually asked, "If he's the prince, then what are you?"
"I'm the prince's sparring partner," Lu Fan replied.
"Sparring partner?" Bulma tilted her head slightly.
"In other words, his sidekick." Lu Fan grinned, showing off a set of pearly white teeth.
Bulma: "..."
Dr. Briefs: "..."
Panchy: "..."
The three of them were at a loss for words.
You're his sidekick?
And you knocked your own prince out cold?
This was the first time they'd ever seen a sidekick who'd turned the tables on his master like that.
"What did you come here for? Are you really here on vacation?" Dr. Briefs asked again. "If you're visiting, I can show you around. I know this planet quite well."
"Where's your storage room?" Lu Fan asked outright.
"Storage room?" Dr. Briefs stared blankly for two seconds.

Dr. Briefs didn't ask why, though. He simply pointed to a storage room nearby.
"Wait here." Lu Fan headed toward it.

Lu Fan pushed open the storage room door.
Bulma followed behind him, curious.
What are you doing in our storage room?
Everything in there is old and useless.
But it's still our stuff.

An invisible force emanated from Lu Fan's hand.
Every item in the storage room rose into the air as if by magic.
Bulma, standing behind him, stared wide-eyed.
Lu Fan quickly found the Dragon Ball among the floating objects.
It was a Two-Star Dragon Ball.
"Found it." Lu Fan reached toward the Dragon Ball from a distance.

The Dragon Ball flew straight into his hand.
"Huh? Do you have some kind of special power?" Bulma quickly came back to her senses.
"It's not really a special power. It's just a way of controlling energy," Lu Fan said with a smile.
"That's amazing..." Bulma looked at him with admiration.
After obtaining the Dragon Ball, Lu Fan walked over to Dr. Briefs with it in hand.
"Dr. Briefs, I know you're the greatest scientist on this planet," Lu Fan said.
"Hahaha... You're making me blush..." Dr. Briefs was delighted.

Aliens really are straightforward.
"But you're right. I am the most outstanding and greatest scientist on this planet." Dr. Briefs adjusted his glasses, his expression turning serious.
"This thing in my hand is called a Dragon Ball. There are seven in total, scattered across the world. Could you help me build a Dragon Radar?" Lu Fan explained his purpose.
Lu Fan had come to Earth to search for the Dragon Balls.
He had already told Vegeta about it on the way.
The Saiyans' greatest weakness was that they couldn't survive in outer space.
No matter how powerful you were, if someone destroyed the planet you lived on, there was nowhere to run.
