"Why? Tired?"
Sensing that trace of weariness in Zhang Tie, Bai Suxian asked with concern as soon as they got out of the carriage upon returning to the estate.
Bai Suxian stopped walking, and all the maids and servants waiting by the carriage stopped as well, standing quietly to one side.
Zhang Tie smiled. How could an Earth Knight possibly feel tired? The so-called fatigue could only be weariness of the heart, never of the body. "It's nothing. I just thought of something troubling. I'll be fine after resting tonight!"
Bai Suxian nodded. She knew that when Zhang Tie spoke of "resting," he meant wanting some peace and quiet alone. Since he had said so, she naturally could not fool around in his quarters tonight as she had last night. She also knew the other reason Zhang Tie had come to Xuanyuan Hill. He had seemed relaxed these past few days, but the pressure he carried and the enemies he had to face meant he was destined not to be as idle as he appeared.
After saying a few things to Bai Suxian and watching her head toward her quarters amid a cluster of maids, Zhang Tie took a deep breath and walked toward his own room.
His great enemy still sat securely in a high position within Imperial Emperor City, while something seemed to have happened in the Ice and Snow Wilderness—the rear base he had always regarded as most secure—forcing Elder Gulas to bring the Source of Berserk to Great Xia in search of allies and outside aid. After wandering around Xuanyuan Hill these past few days, Zhang Tie had gradually gained some understanding of this center of humanity, yet for no apparent reason he had also gotten into two fights and made a heap of enemies.
