Snake Island Field Training
Chen Yan appoints Meng Yao as leader of a team with Gao Teng and Liu Ming. During the snake-swarm ambush, she is separated with Gao Teng and carries him deeper into the forest to locate the controller. 23 24
After Gao Teng acquires the Snake Taming Technique, Meng Yao single-handedly captures the controller while he suppresses the snake swarm. She interrogates the captive and learns that the attackers were producing Blue Elf on Snake Island. 25
While returning from the operation, she discovers Zhang Jie’s body and is bitten by a venomous snake. Gao Teng kills the snake after it attacks him as well; Meng Yao then uses a Nectar Pill to cure his poisoning. 26 27
Aftermath and Friendship with Gao Teng
Meng Yao invites Gao Teng to eat at her family’s restaurant to thank him for saving her. She reveals her family background and offers to pay for his private tutoring, but he refuses. 28 29
She continues trying to repay him by offering high-grade pills and financial support for his cultivation. Gao Teng refuses again, insisting on following his own cultivation plan. 35
