"Holy crap?! Flying Thunder God! System, I love you!"

There were countless ninjutsu in the Naruto World. It was hard to say which one was the strongest.

But Flying Thunder God was definitely the most convenient technique.

"Why did Shisui lose? That makes no sense! There's no way you could complete this mission!"

Uchiha Chen had just started celebrating when he heard the system's voice.

"You piece of crap! You did this on purpose! You're trying to get me killed! I have proof!"

"Uh... It was an accident, an accident. Besides, this system is so conscientious. I never planned to punish you if you failed in the first place."

The system was terribly embarrassed to have let its true thoughts slip, but Uchiha Chen didn't believe a word of its excuse.

"Shisui, are you all right?"

Uchiha Chen didn't want to deal with that Pit-Father System. He hurried over to Shisui and asked.

"I'm fine. Chen, you're strong."

Uchiha Shisui replied. Uchiha Chen was growing more and more confused. The system's interruption had brought him back down to earth, and his excitement faded.

With his current abilities, he might be able to beat a Genin. But how could he possibly defeat a Chunin, especially a genius like Uchiha Shisui?

"Shisui, you were holding back, weren't you?"

"More or less."

Just as Uchiha Chen spoke, Uchiha Shisui's voice came from behind him.

"Shadow Clone? When did you—?"

Seeing Uchiha Shisui appear behind him, Uchiha Chen immediately understood that he'd been fighting a Shadow Clone the whole time.

"Since your poison smoke appeared.

Chen, where did you get it?"

"Poison smoke?

Oh, that. It was just a smoke bomb mixed with dye. It wasn't poisonous at all.

I only meant to bluff you, and it looks like it worked."

Uchiha Chen was quite satisfied with the result. Getting Uchiha Shisui to fall for it was already impressive.

However...

"Ding! System notification: Mission reward error.

Flying Thunder God Technique revoked. Mission reward changed to D-rank Fire Release Ninjutsu: Great Fireball Technique!"

"You piece of crap! You can't just do that! Give me back my Flying Thunder God!"

Uchiha Chen had never expected the damn system to take back a reward it had already given him. If he'd known, he would've learned the technique right away.

Fortunately, all his conversations with the system took place in his mind. Otherwise, Uchiha Shisui would surely have thought he was looking at a lunatic.

"You can't blame me. Technically, you didn't defeat Uchiha Shisui, so I shouldn't have counted the mission as complete at all.

Look how good I've been to you. I counted the mission as complete and even gave you a Fire Release technique.

This system has always been generous and reliable."

"..."

Uchiha Chen really didn't know what to say. He swore that if he could strangle the system, he wouldn't hesitate for even 0.01 seconds.

"Chen, what's wrong?"

Though Uchiha Shisui couldn't hear his conversation with the system, he still noticed that Uchiha Chen looked strange.

"N-nothing. I'm just upset that I gave it everything and still couldn't defeat even your Shadow Clone.

I knew there'd be a gap between us, but I didn't think it would be this big."

Uchiha Shisui merely smiled.

He'd deliberately admitted defeat earlier. He wanted to test whether Uchiha Chen would try to kill him once he had the upper hand.

Fortunately, Uchiha Chen had loosened the wire at the last moment, which kept Uchiha Shisui from becoming even more suspicious.

Otherwise, there was a good chance Uchiha Chen would have been taken in for questioning.

"You're already much stronger than other kids your age. Did someone teach you?"

Uchiha Shisui asked, voicing the question on his mind. Uchiha Chen's skill with the Kunai earlier had been remarkably polished, and it belonged to the Uchiha Clan.

If Uchiha Chen really was a spy, that would mean someone had leaked this information.

The Uchiha Clan's special way of using Kunai wasn't a secret on the level of the Sharingan, but what clan wanted others to know its secrets?

"Who would teach me? Before my parents passed away, they left me some books about ninjas, and Izumi often gives me pointers."

Uchiha Chen wasn't lying about that. Hoping to gain abilities from that Pit-Father System was pure wishful thinking.

In fact, the rewards from the last two missions—the Uchiha Shurikenjutsu and the Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique—were exceptionally rare.

For the past few years, the rewards had been things like someone's worn-out socks or half a popsicle they'd thrown away.

This wasn't a system. It was a junk collector.

"Is that so? Could you take me to your house?"

Hearing this, Uchiha Chen belatedly realized that Uchiha Shisui was suspicious of him.

But he didn't mind. Ordinary people wouldn't be able to find out about the system anyway.

Just as the two were about to leave, Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Izumi arrived together.

It turned out that after school, Uchiha Izumi had noticed Uchiha Chen was missing and guessed he must have come here.

To keep Uchiha Chen and Uchiha Itachi from fighting again, Uchiha Izumi had gone to find Uchiha Itachi. But they hadn't found Uchiha Chen anywhere.

With no other choice, they came to Training Ground 7.

"Izumi, Shisui and I have something to take care of. We'll be going."

As he spoke, Uchiha Chen didn't wait for Uchiha Izumi to answer. He took Uchiha Shisui and left.

Uchiha Chen hadn't forgotten that he still had another mission to complete.

The system hadn't said there would be a penalty, but given the Pit-Father System's track record, failing the mission would probably lead to something bad.

"Did you do something wrong? Why are you deliberately avoiding Itachi and Izumi?"

Uchiha Shisui asked, clearly noticing that something was off about Uchiha Chen.

"How could I?

Izumi likes Itachi, so I'm giving them a chance to be together. Surely you've noticed, Shisui? If you get the chance, you should give Itachi some time. Otherwise, with his personality, he might stay single for the rest of his life."

"You really are wise beyond your years. The way you talk, you'd think you knew Itachi well."

"Not really. Everyone knows Izumi likes Itachi.

But Itachi hasn't noticed at all. Either he's pretending not to, or he's genuinely clueless when it comes to romance."

"Clueless when it comes to romance?"

Hearing this explanation, Shisui paused. Thinking about how Itachi usually acted, it did seem to fit.

And so Chen and Shisui returned to Chen's home. Chen took out some of the notes and other things his parents had left behind.
