A Hundred-Pull

"Damn it...! And they call that the pinnacle of the Ninja World? Bah!"

Deep underground, in a damp, shadowy place tangled with sprawling tree roots, lay the Root Base.

Danzo hurled the scroll to the ground with all his might, fury in his eyes. He'd thought the plan would go off without a hitch and that he'd get a Talisman for himself. But that old fool Hanzo had turned out to be useless—he couldn't even beat a few brats!

In his bizarre way of thinking, "everything was Hanzo's fault." If Hanzo had defeated the Akatsuki, Danzo could have taken the opportunity to ambush him and claim both the Horse Talisman and the Rinnegan. Then... who needed to be Hokage? Under Shimura Danzō's leadership, all of Konoha would reach the pinnacle of the Ninja World!

But the plan had fallen apart just like that! Worse, the Talisman had ended up in the hands of that old monkey, Sarutobi Hiruzen! It was practically another obstacle on Danzo's path to becoming Hokage!

"Heh... Is Lord Danzo in a bad mood? I'll come back later, then..."

Normally, no one dared approach Danzo when he was enraged. But our cold-blooded snake was different. Orochimaru strolled in as casually as if he were opening the door to his own home.

"Wait! Orochimaru! You'd better have good news!"

There was no way Danzo hadn't noticed Orochimaru. After all, he was a Kage Level expert, and that chilling chakra of his was one of a kind in all of Konoha.

"Heh, of course."

"You must remember the child I told you about—the one with exceptional compatibility with Wood Release Cells?"

"With a little help from the Horse Talisman, I restored the cells in that child's body, which had been constantly devoured by the First's cells, to their prime. They even began to fuse with the Wood Release Cells in reverse."

As everyone knew, Orochimaru had never been one to keep his hands to himself. After getting the Horse Talisman back, he hadn't turned it over to the village right away. Instead, he'd rushed straight to the lab and secretly experimented on Yamato, who was still known as "Tenzo" at the time.

The results were unexpectedly successful. Tenzo's cells had fused perfectly with the Wood Release Cells, with no rejection at all. His Wood Release was even stronger than it had been in the original Naruto series.

"Another Talisman...!"

Hearing that the Wood Release experiment had succeeded finally brought a faint smile to Danzo's gloomy face. But the moment he heard that yet another Talisman had made it possible, he couldn't hold back his anger. "That Talisman was supposed to be mine!"

After a bout of impotent rage, Danzo followed Orochimaru to his secret laboratory. Pointing to the boy curled up in the room with his knees hugged to his chest, Orochimaru said, "Tenzo, this is Lord Danzo. He'll be your superior from now on. Say hello..."

"L-Lord Danzo... I... I'm Tenzo..."

The boy cowered, terror filling his eyes. His voice trembled as he looked up at Danzo, but one glare from Danzo's cold eyes was enough to make him shrink back and lower his head.

"Root members don't need names. From today on, your codename is Kinoe!"

The next day, after kicking his legs twice under the covers as a form of aerobic exercise, Qian Yu slowly got up and checked the system panel.

"Excellent!"

Jack had successfully assassinated Hanzo, and the Twelve Guardian Ninja and the Daimyo of the Land of Fire had provided a huge number of Dimensional Points. Qian Yu had made a killing.

He was flush with points now—enough for a hundred-pull. So, should he use them all at once or just spend a few?

Qian Yu decided, of course...

To go all in!

"My turn! Draw!"

As Qian Yu's fingers flew across the system screen, lights of every color overlapped and reflected across his face—

If this were a gacha game and he'd gotten no golds in a hundred pulls, Qian Yu would probably have lost his mind. But the odds of getting anything from this system were even lower than those of an asteroid hitting Earth, so four purples was a pretty good result...

Aside from useless things like "Uncle's favorite tea," this round's Jackie Chan Adventures focus pull had given him three Talismans. "Now I can continue the Twelve Talismans arc..."

First up was the Pig Talisman. Who hadn't dreamed as a kid of using Fu's "Laser Beam" attack?

Next was the Tiger Talisman. It hadn't done much in Jackie Chan Adventures, but its ability to separate yin and yang, good and evil, and restore balance was incredibly powerful in the Naruto world.

For example, give the Tiger Talisman to a strong fighter and split them in two—then you'd have double the fighting power. You could even use it on a Tailed Beast. It was far more impressive than the technique Minato used in the original story to split the Nine-Tails in two.

Last was the Sheep Talisman. The power over souls was mysterious and profound. Perhaps it could be used for reconnaissance?

[Ability] Allows the holder's soul to leave their body. The disembodied soul can pass through any physical barrier, move without being bound by gravity, and remain undetectable to ordinary creatures. It can also enter other people's dreams to deliver messages. (With certain special incantations, it can forcibly eject another person's soul from their body.)

That wrapped up the Talismans. Next came Squidward, the Glint-Glint Fruit, and Observation Haki.

[Introduction] One of the Three Haki from the world of One Piece. It sharpens the five senses to perceive living beings' auras and emotional changes, and to anticipate danger.

[Abilities] At a basic level, it detects enemies outside one's field of vision, predicts the trajectory of attacks, and senses the strength of living beings. At the highest level, it can even grant a brief glimpse of the future.

"Whoa! This is exactly what I wanted!"

The Glint-Glint Fruit would go perfectly with SpongeBob, helping Chixing's "General Yellow Sponge" bluff come true. And now Squidward had shown up too. Once he focused on the Ice-Ice Fruit, he'd have the real Three Admirals of Bikini Bottom.

As for Observation Haki, it was a simple and effective way to boost his strength. That was pretty good, too.
