Masaki Uchiha said with a look of gratification, "Good. Keep this evidence safe. We will bring it all out together after some time, so that Shimura Danzō dies with his crimes laid bare for all to see!"
Uchiha Shun asked with a puzzled expression, "Clan Head, with the evidence we currently have, it is enough to have Shimura Danzō killed ten times over. Why must we wait?"
Seeing Uchiha Ichiro beside him nodding in agreement, Masaki Uchiha realized that the political education of the Uchiha Clan still needed to be strengthened.
Masaki Uchiha rolled his eyes helplessly and had no choice but to explain to the two brothers why he was doing this.
"First, if this evidence were against an ordinary person, they would have been dead and buried long ago, but Shimura Danzō is no ordinary man."
"He is a comrade-in-arms of Sarutobi Hiruzen and has served as the Hokage Assistant for a long time. Against such a person, unless you have a guaranteed kill, you must hold back and wait for the right moment."
"Second, even if we exposed all this evidence now, Shimura Danzō would not die. On the contrary, he would hide even deeper because he has Sarutobi Hiruzen backing him."
"Minato Namikaze, for the sake of their past relationship, would likely go with the flow and let Shimura Danzō off the hook."
"Because if there isn't a force or organization within the village that can rival us, Minato Namikaze will not allow the Uchiha Clan to become the sole power. Do you understand now?"
"There is another surprise waiting for Danzō in a while. We will settle all accounts then, and ensure he never rises again!"
"So don't be impatient. Let's just play with him for now."
The two brothers finally understood the layers of complexity involved and could not help but admire Masaki Uchiha even more.
With such a Clan Head, the Uchiha Clan need not worry about its future.
After sending the two brothers back to continue their training, Masaki Uchiha took the opportunity to visit Uchiha Tetsuya's office.
As he pushed open the door, he found that both Uchiha Tetsuya and Uchiha Fugaku, the two deputy heads of the Police Force, had created shadow clones to help handle the workload.
Hearing someone enter, the two men and their shadow clones didn't even look up as they said, "Just leave the documents on the table."
"You two have worked hard."
Upon hearing the Clan Head's voice, the two men looked up, realized it was indeed him, and immediately stood up. "Forgive us, Clan Head. We were busy handling matters and did not realize you had arrived."
"Sigh, I am the one who should be apologizing for dumping so much of the Police Force's work on you."
Seeing their bloodshot eyes, dark circles, and unkempt stubble, he knew just how busy they had been lately.
Since the reform of the Police Force, the staff had quadrupled to 600 people. The inclusion of members from other clans had caused the workload to grow exponentially, and the two had basically been eating and sleeping in this office.
Masaki Uchiha had dumped all the administrative affairs on them, and they had been working themselves to the bone to live up to his trust, which was why they looked so haggard.
The main issue was that the Police Force was responsible for too much; even just handling the daily affairs of the Metropolitan Police Department was a struggle.
Previously, to resolve villager disputes quickly, they had used heavy-handed enforcement to save time.
Now, while there were more people handling issues, they were following Masaki Uchiha's call for "smiling enforcement," which made the process less efficient than before, leading to a sharp increase in the workload.
Seeing their exhaustion, Masaki Uchiha felt a pang of sympathy.
"Promote two more assistants. Delegate the less important matters to them. You must find time to improve your own strength."
"There is a long road ahead; don't ruin your health now."
Hearing the Clan Head show such concern for them, both men were deeply moved.
Masaki Uchiha, however, felt a sense of relief. If he had to handle this much work every day, he would surely be driven mad. He needed to come up with a new system as soon as possible.
Still, he decided to ask about the recent situation first.
"How is the work status of the ninja clan members and the civilian ninjas recommended by the Fourth Hokage?"
Uchiha Tetsuya answered first, "Reporting to the Clan Head, their work attitude is quite good. The civilian ninjas, in particular, are very diligent and responsible. Most importantly, their attitude toward the villagers is excellent."
"It has played a key role in improving the reputation of the Police Force. Recently, villagers have even come to the Police Force to present banners of praise." Seeing Uchiha Fugaku jump in to answer, Uchiha Tetsuya glanced at him sideways.
Seeing the subtle sense of competition between the two, Masaki Uchiha felt pleased. Healthy competition could drive the development of the entire department; this was exactly how it should be.
"Very good. Reward those who deserve it and punish those who err. Now is the time to turn around the reputation of the Uchiha Clan. If any clansman makes a mistake, do not be soft-hearted."
Masaki Uchiha set a precedent early to prevent anyone from jumping in to plead for mercy when someone inevitably messed up.
"Oh, right. There is one thing I want to tell you. In a while, I plan to appoint a Deputy Clan Head to help me handle administrative affairs."
Upon hearing this, the hearts of both men burned with ambition, and their breathing quickened.
"Carry on with your work. I'll be going now."
Looking at the "small mountains" of paperwork on the desks, Masaki Uchiha felt that if he stayed any longer, he might involuntarily join them, so he decided it was best to slip away.
The capable should do more work; this was just training them, definitely not him wanting to be lazy.
Yes, that's right, that's exactly what I'm thinking.
Masaki Uchiha tried to convince himself as he walked away.
Seeing the Clan Head leave, the two men exchanged a look, and invisible sparks seemed to fly between them.
"Hmph."
"Hmph."
Both men snorted coldly at the same time before sitting back down.
"The position of Deputy Clan Head will definitely be mine."
Both men had the exact same thought, and the speed at which they processed the paperwork increased.
Before leaving, Masaki Uchiha dangled a carrot in front of them, prompting the two vice-captains to start competing fiercely, which in turn drove the entire Police Force into a frenzy of internal competition.
The position of vice-clan head would certainly go to the most capable; in other words, whoever handled administrative affairs the fastest and most effectively would be the ultimate winner.
Thinking of this, the tips of their pens moved so fast they were practically blurring.
Half a month passed in the blink of an eye, and thinking of the beauty waiting for him at home, Masaki Uchiha felt a wave of heat rise in his chest.
He hadn't sent anyone to notify Mie Uchiha because he intended to give her a surprise.
Hearing the sound of chopping coming from the kitchen, Masaki Uchiha tiptoed quietly toward it.
With his current strength, hiding his presence and footsteps so as not to be discovered was an effortless task.
Walking up behind Mie Uchiha, he suddenly reached out and wrapped his arms around her, making her body tremble in fright.
Just as she prepared to counterattack, she heard a familiar voice from behind: "Did you miss me?"
"You rascal, you came back without even sending word, making me worry." Mie Uchiha reached out and pinched Masaki Uchiha's arm.
"Didn't I want to give you a surprise?" Masaki Uchiha pulled Mie Uchiha into his embrace.
Mie Uchiha bit her lip lightly, her face flushed with shyness as she said, "I... I also have a surprise... to tell you."
