Background

Masaki was originally Zhang Qing, an ordinary man from the Xia Kingdom on Blue Star. He was struck by a cement truck while reading Naruto fan-fiction and transmigrated into the body of eight-year-old Masaki Uchiha. The original Masaki’s parents had died in battle, and the boy had exhausted himself through revenge-driven training before dying in his sleep. Zhang Qing accepted the identity and vowed to fulfill the original body’s wish: restore the Uchiha Clan to greatness. 1

He developed his Death Aura by fighting aggressively during the Third Shinobi World War. The ability’s battlefield absorption accelerated his growth into a feared shinobi, allowing him to defeat the Four-Tails and Five-Tails jinchūriki, overcome the Six-Tails jinchūriki, and cripple the Seven Ninja Swordsmen. By the time of the Uchiha leadership dispute, he was considered stronger than Minato Namikaze, having decisively won their earlier spar. 1 2

In Konoha Year 51, Masaki launched a planned internal coup against Uchiha Fugaku with Shisui’s support. He defeated Fugaku’s Mangekyō Sharingan and Susanoo, publicly revealed his own Mangekyō Sharingan, and was recognized as the new Uchiha Clan Head. 1 3

Appearance

Masaki is a handsome man in his early twenties with a fair, jade-like complexion, sharp sword-like eyebrows, and phoenix-shaped eyes that project authority. He wears his black hair in a ponytail, with bangs partially covering his forehead. 1

  • Black ponytail and forehead bangs. 1
  • Sharp brows and distinctive phoenix eyes. 1
  • Mangekyō Sharingan pattern resembling a three-bladed shuriken. 3
  • Later possesses the Rinnegan. 131

Personality

Masaki is decisive to the point of ruthlessness. He teaches Shisui that hesitation in a major decision is defeat, and he consistently acts before his political enemies can organize against him. 1 11

He is an ambitious reformer whose ultimate goal is the abolition of the “one country, one village” order and the unification of the Ninja World under a single ruler. He publicly frames many actions as serving Konoha or the Land of Fire, while privately treating political alliances, wealth, experiments, and war as tools toward that end. 3 23 103

Although he rewards loyalty and invests in his followers’ development, Masaki is willing to exploit allies and enemies alike. He uses Fugaku as a test subject, manipulates Orochimaru’s desire for knowledge, exploits the Daimyo’s patronage, and accepts widespread suffering as a potential price for reshaping the world order. 39 111 112 148

Abilities & Skills

Death Aura

Masaki’s transmigration-derived “cheat” automatically absorbs the essence of dead ninja within its range and feeds the energy back into his body. The absorbed amount increases with the strength of the deceased ninja. 1

  • Enhances chakra, ninjutsu, taijutsu, spiritual energy, physical strength, speed, reactions, and recovery. 1
  • Reached LV. 9 with a 5,000-meter absorption radius by the end of the Third Shinobi World War. 1
  • Recorded absorbed energy increased from 51,752/100,000 to 58,921/100,000. 1 58
  • Does not grant energy when a target merely appears dead; Satori’s chakra was reclaimed by the Box of Ultimate Bliss instead. 155

Sharingan and Mangekyō Sharingan

Masaki awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan at age twelve. Its known left-eye ability enhances the ocular power of nearby Uchiha and restores Mangekyō ocular power depleted through use. 1 3 5

  • Strengthens the Sharingan of clan members in the same room. 5
  • Can counter the Mangekyō Sharingan’s blindness-related deterioration for both Masaki and affected recipients. 5
  • The right-eye ability is deliberately kept secret; Masaki refuses to discuss it even with Uchiha elders. 5
  • His Mangekyō can open portals between worlds by the final chapter. 167

Rinnegan

Masaki later wields the Rinnegan, which shocks Akatsuki and makes Pain immediately recognize him as a major threat. 110 131

  • Uses Shinra Tensei to devastate the area around Akatsuki’s former Amegakure base. 131
  • His Rinnegan is regarded by others as evidence of power approaching that of the Sage of Six Paths, though Masaki notes that the common belief is inaccurate. 110

Susanoo

Masaki possesses a Susanoo vastly stronger than Fugaku’s or Shisui’s. 94

  • Blocks the shockwave of a Tailed Beast Ball. 94
  • Reaches Complete Body Susanoo form during his battle with Ōtsutsuki Yiren. 123
  • Crushes the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion and overwhelms Yiren with its fists and katana. 123
  • Can be damaged by the Giant Tenseigan’s attacks, though Masaki remains capable of continuing the fight. 123

Lightning Style

Masaki created several lightning-based techniques after transmigrating. 3

  • Lightning Style: Chidori — pierced Fugaku’s Susanoo and defeated him in their clan-head duel. 3
  • Lightning Style: Kirin — one of his self-developed Lightning Style techniques. 3
  • Lightning Chakra Mode / Lightning Release Armor — provides extreme speed and durability; Killer B’s blade could not pierce it. 3 77
  • Lightning Release: Inch Punch — used to blitz Kakuzu. 89
  • Lightning Release: Chidori Sharp Spear — deployed during the battle against Kumogakure and Iwagakure. 77

Other Ninjutsu

Masaki combines immense chakra reserves with techniques across several chakra natures.

  • Rasengan — invented by Masaki before Minato Namikaze; he later taught it to Minato. 3 6
  • Wind Release: Rasenshuriken — used against Killer B and the Fourth Raikage. 77
  • Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame — produces a battlefield-scale wave of fire. 76
  • Tailed Beast Balls — forms and launches them through giant chakra palms; used two at once to counter Pain’s Super Chibaku Tensei. 90 94
  • Secret Technique: Super Receive, Transform, Release Technique — catches and throws back a Tailed Beast Ball. 78

Regeneration and Physical Prowess

Masaki’s physical power, resilience, and recovery are exceptional even among Kage-level shinobi.

  • Regrew an arm after it was twisted off by spatial force during Akatsuki’s ambush. 132
  • Survived Amaterasu by absorbing or shedding the black flames through a chakra defense. 3
  • Caught and crushed Satori’s energy projectile with one hand. 155
  • Manhandled Killer B and Han simultaneously, using them as weapons against the Fourth Raikage and Ōnoki. 77
  • Absorbed the Six-Tails’ chakra after defeating it. 94

Genjutsu

Masaki’s genjutsu can overwhelm even Mangekyō Sharingan resistance. 112

  • Infinite Terror 2.0 — induces extreme trauma in Fugaku and forcibly triggers his Mangekyō Sharingan. 112
  • Considers using the technique to help other Uchiha awaken their eyes more quickly. 112

Political and Strategic Skill

Masaki is an effective administrator, manipulator, and long-term planner.

  • Rebuilds the 150-member Police Force into a planned 600-member institution with legal, judicial, tax, press, logistics, special operations, and science departments. 4
  • Establishes the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and uses business opportunities to bind Konoha’s clans to the Uchiha-led alliance. 16 26
  • Secures 3 billion ryō from the Daimyo by presenting the Uchiha Clan’s wartime debt crisis. 24 25
  • Later obtains another 5 billion ryō for Konoha’s military campaign. 143
  • Engineers a three-step campaign against Danzō: destroy his reputation, make him witness the Shimura Clan’s downfall, then kill him. 11

Equipment / Items

  • Box of Ultimate Bliss — seized from Hōzuki Castle after Masaki defeats Satori; he orders it transported to Konoha, sealed, and studied for possible modification. 154 155
  • Storage scrolls — used by his forces to collect Akatsuki’s assets after the organization’s defeat. 136
  • Protective seals on Uchiha Douhuan — combines Mangekyō Sharingan and Flying Thunder God safeguards so anyone harming his son will be teleported to Masaki. 167

Relationships

  • Uchiha Shisui — trusted subordinate and protégé; Masaki mentors him in decisiveness, keeps Shisui’s Mangekyō secret, and assigns him responsibility for the Land of Waves business. 1 5 26
  • Uchiha Fugaku — former clan-head rival turned deputy chief and experimental subject; Masaki defeats him, secures his cooperation, and later takes Fugaku’s sons as disciples. 3 4 39
  • Orochimaru — research partner and subordinate-like ally; Masaki funds his experiments, supplies rare bloodlines and the Tenseigan, and shares Ōtsutsuki secrets with him. 10 111 150
  • Minato Namikaze — friend and former Hokage rival; Masaki taught Minato the Rasengan, and Minato initially defends him against Danzō’s accusations. 1 6
  • Kaito Uchiha — close confidant and trainee; Masaki tests Kaito’s enhanced strength, sends him to the capital, and includes him in high-level political meetings. 10 11 25
  • Mie Uchiha — romantic partner; Mie reveals her pregnancy to Masaki, and the two agree to marry. 34
  • Uchiha Douhuan — Masaki’s son; Masaki places extensive protective measures on him after his birth. 167
  • Uchiha Itachi — disciple; Masaki trains him in physical conditioning, war, leadership, and the dangers surrounding gifted shinobi. 42 44 116
  • Shimura Danzō — principal political enemy; Masaki exposes Danzō’s Sharingan-filled arm and pursues a calculated campaign to ruin him. 11 51
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen — political adversary; their conflict centers on Masaki’s expanding authority and goal of Ninja World unification. 48 140
  • Land of Fire Daimyo — patron and eventual suspect; the Daimyo finances Masaki’s rise but later grows wary of his military and political ambitions. 24 103 143
  • Hyūga Hiashi — allied clan leader and Shanghai Cooperation Organization member; Masaki relies on Hiashi’s Byakugan and entrusts him with sensitive missions. 48 153 155
  • Jiraiya and Tsunade — initially skeptical counterparts whom Masaki persuades to accept his vision of Ninja World unification. 148 149
