Medusa ruled the Snake-People Tribe while it faced pressure from surrounding empires and remained confined to the Tagor Desert. Her principal ambition was to lead her people out of the desert, but she was also held back by a long-standing cultivation bottleneck at peak Dou Emperor. 16 17

She discovered a tribal secret technique allowing a Snake-People Queen at peak Dou Emperor to use an Exotic Flame to activate her bloodline, break into Dou Zong, and possibly awaken the Seven-Colored Heaven-Swallowing Python bloodline. After locating the Green Lotus Core Flame, she was burned while securing it; the injury on her tail healed slowly despite medicinal baths. 16

Tang Chen's arrival forced Medusa to weigh her independence against her tribe's survival. She accepted his terms—loyalty in exchange for access to the flame and his help relocating her people—and informed the Four Great Elders of her decision. 17 18

During the evolution ritual, Medusa entered the Green Lotus Core Flame in her giant snake form and appeared to perish. She instead emerged from the charred shell as a small seven-colored snake, later awakening in a humanoid form. 19 23
