Four Kage Summit

Yugakure's main headquarters.

Inside a conference room stood a long U-shaped table.

The Fourth Raikage sat in the seat of honor at the head of the table, with a man and a woman standing behind him.

The woman had dark skin and was the Fourth Raikage's secretary, Mabui.

The man was also dark-skinned. He was none other than Darui, who had previously appeared in the Land of Waves.

Three figures were seated along the lower end of the U-shaped table.

They were the Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki; the Fifth Mizukage, Mei Terumi; and the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa.

Behind each of the three Kage stood two powerful guards, one on either side.

"Alright, the Four Kage Summit now officially begins."

The Fourth Raikage raised a fist and lightly struck the tabletop. "I assume I do not need to explain why I summoned you all here. You should all know perfectly well."

The others exchanged glances, yet no one spoke first.

"Cough, cough." Ōnoki gave two light coughs, breaking the awkward silence. He slowly said, "Lord Fourth Raikage, we already learned of your purpose in attacking Konoha through the envoy sent by the Land of Lightning. You should explain in detail what the Land of Lightning intends to do."

The Fourth Raikage nodded slightly and gathered his thoughts for a moment. "Fine, no problem."

"As you can see, the Land of Hot Springs, where you now stand, is already in the palm of the Land of Lightning's hand."

"Beyond the western border of the Land of Hot Springs lies the territory of the Land of Fire."

"Since the three of you came to attend this meeting, I presume you have also set your sights on the fertile land of the Land of Fire."

"Furthermore, the Land of Fire has remained the strongest of the Five Great Nations for so long precisely because it occupies such fertile land."

"However, the Land of Fire lies at the center of the ninja continent, while our other four great nations are situated in the east, south, west, and north."

"So my proposal is that, aside from the ninja and soldiers needed to defend our territories, the four great nations mobilize all of our forces."

"This time, we must seize the Land of Fire."

The Fourth Raikage stopped there. His gaze swept across the people present as he waited for their response.

Mei Terumi let out a soft snort, a mocking smile curling at the corner of her lips.

"Lord Fourth Raikage, what you just said was no different from saying nothing. Do you think we do not know these matters of geography?"

"Moreover, according to your proposal, you expect our four great nations to mobilize all our forces. That is completely unrealistic."

"There are already deep conflicts between our nations. Do you truly think a few words from you can make everyone let go of past grudges and join forces to attack Konoha?"

The Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, nodded and said, "Indeed, I agree with Lord Fifth Mizukage."

"During the Third Ninja World War, did a conflict like this not arise between our four nations?"

"We originally had a chance to take Konoha, but because of the conflicts between our nations, we ended up fighting each other."

"In the end, every nation suffered heavy losses and was badly weakened. We could only call a truce and return home to recover."

"I do not want something like that to happen to Sunagakure again."

"What?!" The Fourth Raikage had a violent temper. He slammed his fist into the edge of the table, smashing a huge hole through it.

"Then tell me yourselves—what should we do?"

The Fourth Raikage's action shocked everyone present.

The guards behind the other three Kage all reached for their weapons.

This summit truly was not going to be so simple.

"Everyone, relax." The Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki, floated up from his chair and slightly raised both hands, signaling everyone to lower their weapons.

Very quickly, everyone calmed down and returned to their places.

Ōnoki sat back down and turned his gaze toward the Fourth Raikage.

"Fourth Raikage, I hope you will not be so impulsive again and snap everyone's already taut nerves."

"Furthermore, the Fifth Mizukage and the Fourth Kazekage were right. There are indeed many problems between our nations."

"At present, the first matter we need to discuss is how the territories of Konoha will be divided after we successfully take it."

The Fourth Raikage's expression changed in shock. Confused, he asked, "What? We have not even begun the attack, and we are already discussing how to divide Konoha's territory afterward? Is that not a little too early?"

The others were equally puzzled. They all looked toward Ōnoki, waiting for his answer.

Ōnoki gave a light cough and slowly said, "I know it is too early to discuss this, but discussing it now is also an important step toward resolving the rift between our four nations."

"Our four nations have no trust in one another whatsoever. If we enter the plan to attack Konoha with such relations, no one can be sure whether someone might turn against us at a critical moment."

"That is why we must first discuss the division of Konoha's territory. Only after this is settled will our four nations commit themselves fully to attacking Konoha."

Mei Terumi nodded slightly and said calmly, "The Third Tsuchikage is right. This is the first matter that must be discussed and resolved."

Knock, knock, knock—

At that moment, someone suddenly knocked on the conference room door.

A flash of irritation crossed the Fourth Raikage's face as he barked, "What is it? Do you not know I am in the middle of an important meeting?"

"Lord Raikage, Samui has returned, and she has brought an Uchiha youth with her."

"Oh?" A trace of delight appeared on the Fourth Raikage's face. "Understood. Let them both come in."

The other three Kage all wore puzzled expressions.

"Lord Fourth Raikage, you invited someone from the Uchiha Clan as well?" the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, asked.

Creak—

Before anyone could answer, the conference room door opened, and Samui quickly walked in with Mingyou.

"Lord Raikage."

Samui reached the Fourth Raikage and gave a slight bow.

"Mm. Samui, you did well this time." The Fourth Raikage smiled, then shifted his gaze to Mingyou.

"Those eyes... they truly are the Mangekyō Sharingan of the Uchiha Clan."
