What answered Jiang Lianqiu was Yao Guang's bell-like chuckle, and the touch of her closed folding fan lightly tapping the side of his face...
Leisurely Everyday Life on the Train
The lighting in the train compartment had been adjusted just right—not as glaring as it was in battle, nor as oppressive as the Painted World, but soft and warm, like embers in a winter hearth that had not quite gone out.
The long table in the banquet carriage had been rearranged.
A few plates of snacks were scattered across the spotless white tablecloth, along with a pot of freshly brewed black tea, and a pile of colorful candies that no one knew who had swiped from some street stall in Dual-Phase Paradise.
The pink wrappers glittered under the lights, somehow echoing March 7th's hair color beside them.
"So—Stelle! Where exactly did you get that Light Stick?!"
March 7th was half sprawled across the table, reaching out to poke the glowing stick Stelle had set by the edge.
The stick was currently in power-saving mode, blinking with a soft, warm yellow light. It looked harmless, even a little cute.
Stelle stuffed the Light Stick into her arms, her face full of vigilance. "Phantom Moon gave it to me. Maybe it was a greeting gift!"
"Greeting gift, my foot!" March 7th chopped Stelle on the head with a knife-hand, then immediately felt bad and rubbed it. "Besides, wasn't that Phantom Moon just Guiji messing around behind the scenes?!"
"Guiji is Guiji, Phantom Moon is Phantom Moon." Stelle sounded perfectly justified as she raised the Light Stick and waved it. "It can turn into nunchucks. Super useful. Wanna try?"
"Yes!" March 7th instantly forgot what she had just been complaining about, her eyes shining almost as brightly as the Light Stick itself.
