A Happy Family

"Brother."

When Uchiha Matsuzaki got home, he heard a very familiar voice.

In this world, Uchiha Matsuzaki had a very adorable little sister who was two years younger than him.

Though she was two years younger and still just a child, she was already growing into a beauty.

"Xiao Ke, did you and Mom have fun at Auntie's house?"

Uchiha Matsuzaki asked happily as soon as he saw his little sister.

Uchiha Ke nodded, then said cheerfully, "Of course! Mom and I bought lots of things, too!"

With that, she took the things from Uchiha Matsuzaki's hands, and the two of them slowly walked inside.

"Mom, I'm home," Uchiha Matsuzaki said as he entered the room.

A woman was putting things away. When she heard what her son had just said, she set down what she was doing and turned to look at him fondly.

"Matsuzaki, you're back!"

"Your aunt asked me to bring home some of your favorite treats today. Go get ready, and we'll eat!"

Uchiha Matsuzaki's mother said with a smile.

"Come on, brother. Let's wash our hands. Then you can eat lots of yummy things."

Before Uchiha Matsuzaki could say a word, his little sister tugged him outside to wash their hands.

A moment later, they had both finished washing up and returned to the room. A table laden with delicious food greeted them, most of it his favorites.

The three of them took their seats and began to eat.

"I can't believe Auntie's still so good at making pastries. I always loved the ones she made when I was little. They taste exactly the same as I remember."

Uchiha Matsuzaki said as he ate.

The family shared a warm, happy meal. It had been a wonderful day.

After they finished eating, they cleared the table together and sat down to talk, since they hadn't seen one another for several days.

"Mom, my sister and I start school tomorrow. If you don't have anything planned this afternoon, I'd like to take her to the ninja tool shop to buy a few things."

Uchiha Matsuzaki smiled as he spoke to his mother.

"Sure, sure! I'm running low on supplies, too, so I'll come with you. I have a lot of things to buy, since I use them every day."

Uchiha Ke said excitedly.

"Okay, you can go this afternoon. I'll tidy up around the house while you're out. I didn't expect it to be so tidy, even though I've been away for a few days."

"What are you saying? I'm your son. Even when I'm home alone, I don't make a mess of the place."

Uchiha Matsuzaki chatted and laughed with his mother.

After the family sat together talking for a while, the siblings left home and headed toward the ninja tool shop.

"Brother, let's not go to the ninja tool shop after all. I actually just want to go shopping and buy something else!" Uchiha Ke stopped and said with a smile.

When Uchiha Matsuzaki heard what his little sister had said, he stopped and smiled.

"You really know how to keep me on my toes. All right, we have enough weapons for now. We can go when we run out. So, where do you want to go?"

Uchiha Matsuzaki said with a wry smile.

"I knew you were the best brother! Let's go have a look over there. We don't have anything else to do, anyway."

Uchiha Ke said with a beaming smile, then ran off to the side.

Uchiha Matsuzaki smiled and followed her. But he couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching him, and he couldn't figure out where they were.
