Zhang Lexuan’s public history places her birth in the Heaven Dou Empire, where her family was later destroyed. Mu En rescued her and brought her into Shrek Academy, but the circumstances of that rescue—described as involving a child-bride arrangement—eventually became a source of doubt and anguish for her. When Ning Huan showed her historical material concerning the Sun Moon Royal Family, she began questioning the connection between her Moon Martial Soul, her family’s destruction, and her past at Shrek. 33 372

Driven by duty, gratitude, and a vow formed after her family’s downfall, she devoted herself to cultivation for years without rest. This commitment made her one of Shrek’s foremost prodigies, but also left her with little opportunity to live for herself. 38

Rise at Shrek Academy

Zhang Lexuan first encountered Ning Huan while acting on Shrek’s interests. Initially guarded and cold, she ultimately failed to recruit him after recognizing that Shrek could not match the resources and protection offered by the Nine Treasures Glazed Sect. 30

Following Ning Huan’s advice, she brought two additional elders when seeking her eighth soul ring. Their presence allowed her to survive an encounter with a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast and absorb both its soul ring and soul bone, elevating her to Soul Douluo. 36
