Gu Yuena awakened from a slumber of tens of thousands of years beneath the Lake of Life, where she had been recovering from injuries sustained during a great war in the God Realm. As the Silver Dragon King and an incarnation of the Dragon God, she served as the sovereign of soul beasts, though she later admitted that she did not consider herself qualified for that position. 325

Her central concern was the fate of soul beasts, whose future extinction had been foreseen through Gu Lingxi's glimpse of fate. Gu Yuena and Di Tian initially misinterpreted that warning and targeted the Jiao Maiden race, believing its members were draining away soul-beast fate; she later learned that Tang San had been coveting that fate instead. 206

She first approaches Ning Huan to seek a way to alter the soul beasts' fate.
