Background / History

Ling Yuan had encountered Lin Chuan when he first entered Martial Soul Hall nine years earlier, even holding him as a child. She remembered his unusually calm, indifferent demeanor and the fact that he would blush when teased. 12

Bibi Dong later orders Ling Yuan to protect Lin Chuan from the shadows while reporting and investigating his movements. Ling Yuan accepts eagerly, partly because the assignment gives her an opportunity to travel beyond Martial Soul Hall. 12

While monitoring him, Ling Yuan witnesses Lin Chuan absorb power from the Evil God Bead and rapidly rise from level 65 to level 70. Though tempted by the possibility that his secret could strengthen her as well, she suppresses her greed and speaks with him openly after being discovered. 17

Lin Chuan offers her an opportunity to reach Super Douluo in exchange for concealing his true activities while continuing to report his public whereabouts. Ling Yuan agrees, establishing a relationship built on mutual utility, secrecy, and growing trust. 18
