Background / History

Kakashi was a student of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. He served as a guard during Naruto Uzumaki's birth and was therefore among the few people who had seen Naruto as an infant. 4

He later operated in Anbu and remained a trusted subordinate of Minato. During growing tensions with the Uchiha Clan, he investigated the possibility of a rebellion and received orders to draw out Fugaku Uchiha without implicating the entire clan. 9

Kakashi carries lasting grief over his former comrades, Rin and Obito. After Team 7's bell test, he shared the story behind the scar on his left eye and these losses with Naruto. 41
