At six in the morning, the room was dim, its curtains drawn tightly shut.

Lu Ming abruptly jolted awake in the single bed!

A violent headache followed, as if his skull were splitting open. Clutching his head, Lu Ming dug his fingers into his hair. It felt as though ten thousand steel needles were stabbing into his scalp. The pain curled him into a ball like a startled pangolin.

A jumble of images flashed through his mind, accompanied by a cacophony of buzzing in his ears. At that moment, two souls from different worlds began devouring and merging with each other.

He had no idea how long it lasted. Maybe a few dozen seconds, maybe several minutes.

The splitting pain began to ease, then slowly disappeared. Lu Ming panted heavily, overwhelmed by the feeling of having survived a near-death experience. He was so moved that tears streamed down his face—though it was much more likely that he was crying from the pain...

"Phew..." He let out a long breath. The two souls had now merged, and their memories had become one. Lu Ming also understood what had happened to him. Simply put, he had crossed over into the world of Naruto and become the unlucky Obito.

He had taken over this little body, which was only five years old, and become Obito as a child.

Lu Ming had watched Naruto, although it had been many years ago. He still remembered some of the key characters and plot points. Back then, he had thought that the three unluckiest people in the whole series were Nagato, Obito, and Madara. As for Itachi, Lu Ming thought the guy must have had his head slammed in a door! Whatever his reasons, personally killing his own parents was impossible to understand.

In the later stages of the Naruto World, the overpowered turned into giant robots and Kage Level fighters became weaker than dogs! But no matter how strong you were, you still couldn't beat the child of destiny. He even had the Sage of Six Paths looking out for him. The world was at peace and all that—what kind of grudge did I have against it to get reincarnated here? Still, without strength, surviving in this world would be difficult. He would need to get strong.

Fortunately, a card game he had been playing before he died had also come with him into the Naruto World.

It was a knockoff game called Myriad Worlds Card Drawer. He had been drawn in by the art style, all those sexy, busty young women in black stockings.

"From today onward, I'm Obito Uchiha. I'm going to live well!" Lu Ming muttered, rubbing his forehead.

After resting a little longer, he found that aside from feeling weak and sore, nothing else seemed wrong. Obito struggled to prop himself up and sit.

He found himself in a small room with simple furnishings. It was clear his family wasn't well-off. It looked a bit like a studio apartment on Earth: the living room doubled as a bedroom, and there was a small bathroom and a tiny kitchen. A family portrait hung on the wall opposite the bed. A young couple smiled sweetly, and the woman held a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes.

His parents were both gone now. In exchange, he received 6,000 ryo in compensation each month. Two lives, worth 3,000 each. That was all he had.

He climbed out of bed, put on his slippers, and went to the window to draw back the curtains. There weren't many people out on the street. It was probably still early. Obito's home was at the very edge of the Uchiha Clan Compound. Its location alone showed that his parents had been minor figures on the Uchiha Clan's fringes.

"Gurgle... gurgle..." He rubbed his famished stomach. In the kitchen, all he could see were instant noodles of various flavors. He grabbed one at random and boiled some water.

While he waited, Obito checked the system in his mind. This was his ticket to survival.

After looking it over, he found that the game system was quite different from the one he'd played on Earth. Had it mutated when he crossed over?

The old, flashy interface was gone. Now there were only two buttons: Draw Card and Recharge. Simple as could be.

Before, he could get one free draw every 48 hours. Now it took 30 days!

Each draw cost 300 diamonds, which could be exchanged for ryo at a rate of 100 ryo per diamond. That meant 30,000 ryo for a single draw! He'd have to go six months without eating or drinking to afford one. Why not just rob a bank? That'd be faster!

Cards could give him all kinds of things: abilities, weapons, equipment, miscellaneous items, and more. It was pure luck. And thinking about Obito's life in the original series, he didn't have much hope for his luck.

The Draw Card button had a big FREE label on it. His consciousness automatically focused on it. The system was pretty smart.

"Your first draw is guaranteed to give you a purple or higher-quality item. Draw now?"

Obito chose to draw without hesitation. The whole interface transformed into a swirling, multicolored vortex. A card wreathed in golden light appeared on the screen, its back facing him as it glowed. When Obito focused his thoughts on it, the card flipped over, revealing a character card.

Holy crap! A gold card! Even when he'd spent money on Earth, he hadn't gotten a single gold card in ten-pulls. Could Obito be blessed with the luck of a true winner?

Kamui (Left): The left eye's Kamui can forcibly twist a distant target and send them into another dimension. It can also transport the user in and out of that dimension. The size of the objects transported depends on the caster's chakra.

Fire Release: Blast Wave Wild Dance: Kamui twists the space around the user, creating a swirling gale. The user breathes out a spinning serpent of fire, and together, the swirling gale and fiery serpent form a massive vortex of flames.

I drew myself? What a rip-off! And I only get 50% of the attributes? It was like a bucket of cold water had been dumped over his head. He'd gone from a max-level character to some random nobody! Still, at least he had the complete Kamui. That ability was practically a cheat. Used well, it made him nearly immune to damage. This wasn't like sitting at home watching the anime, knowing his abilities in advance and only figuring out how to counter them after the fact.

In Naruto, information could make all the difference in a fight. That was why the Toad Sage had risked his life to learn Pain's secrets. That information was also a huge, hidden asset for Lu Ming.

"Convert!" It didn't look like he had any other choice...

Obito's eyes suddenly started to hurt terribly, but fortunately, it was over almost as quickly as it began! At the same time, he could feel his body changing. He clearly sensed a stream of energy flowing through him. Was this chakra? A tremendous power lay hidden in his tiny body! He felt as though one punch could split the sky!

Was this what it felt like to be a superhuman?

He found a mirror. His eyes had turned the distinctive red of the Uchiha, and a pattern of three sickle-shaped blades, like a shuriken, slowly rotated in each red iris!

Kamui!

As his left eye activated, a visible vortex twisted the space around it. The mirror shattered and was sucked into the Kamui Dimension. Then his left eye began to feel a little swollen!

With a thought, he changed his Mangekyō Sharingan into its three-Tomoe state.

He looked around. The dust in the air was clearly visible. With a flick of his mind, the second hand on the clock on the wall moved incredibly slowly.

This thing was great, but didn't it have a rather short shelf life? He had no siblings, so he couldn't get an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. If he used it too much, he'd end up like Itachi. He couldn't exactly go around smashing people until half his body was ruined and he became a grotesque mess, could he?

He'd have to find a way to get First Hokage Cells.

"Rrrrrr..." The kettle's whistle interrupted Obito's thoughts. There was still time. He could plan things out slowly. With these eyes, he already had the means to protect himself in this world. No need to rush.
