Summoning Technique

In his battle with Orochimaru, Obito had used all the moves he currently knew. Taijutsu combined with his Zanpakutō gave him nearly unmatched attack power and strong defenses. Genjutsu wasn't much of a problem for him, either, now that he had the Sharingan. Unless he ran into one of those thousand-year-old turtles.

But Manda, whom Orochimaru had summoned, still made Obito rather envious. As a gaming enthusiast, how could he resist the temptation of having a pet...

Summoning was an important branch of power in the Naruto World. The Toad Sage had existed since Kaguya's reign, and the Sage of Six Paths had learned Senjutsu from him. The Sannin's summoning beasts came from the Three Great Sage Regions, each with its own Senjutsu legacy.

Senjutsu was a power that could be used right up to the very end, and Obito was still quite envious of it. Getting Tsunade's Shikkotsu Forest shouldn't be too difficult.

But Shikkotsu Forest's combat techniques had never been clearly revealed in Naruto. Whether the First's Sage Mode came from Shikkotsu Forest was still an open question.

Kabuto had obtained Ryūchi Cave's Senjutsu, but it was too ugly...

Toads had the most screen time in Naruto. The Great Toad Sage had lived in the same era as the Sage of Six Paths, and yet the Great Toad Sage was still alive, even though the Sage of Six Paths had been dead for ages... An ancient monster who had lived for over a thousand years. Even by the standards of his past life, a thousand-year-old demon wasn't something he could stand up to right now. He could try to win the creature over, but he couldn't force it. He had to keep the lesson of being tricked by the Evil God in mind.

After asking Tsunade for guidance, Obito understood more about the Summoning Technique. Once he'd figured it out, he felt that summoning was pretty much like drawing cards in a game, except it went both ways. If the summoner and the summoned creature approved of each other, they could sign a Blood Contract. The person and the summoning beast would then be bound by the contract, allowing the person to summon that specific beast whenever they wanted. Before that, though, the summons were random.

There were special cases, too: inheritances, or connections through family and friends. For example, Jiraiya, Minato, and Naruto all summoned toads, while Tsunade and Sakura both summoned slugs... And summoning beasts weren't limited to one per person, either. Sasuke had more than one in the original story, not to mention Pain's Animal Path. As long as you could sign a contract, there was theoretically no limit to the number of summoning beasts you could have.

You could even summon nonliving things. Orochimaru's Triple Rashomon, and the First's Fivefold Rashomon, were both formidable defenses capable of stopping a Tailed Beast Bomb. Obito had far more chakra than Orochimaru. He'd have to test whether he could summon the Fivefold Rashomon.

In the end, Obito decided to summon on his own first, and only afterward choose between the toads and Shikkotsu Forest to learn Senjutsu.

After learning the Hand Seals from Tsunade, he went into his yard, bit his finger, and quickly formed the seals: boar, dog, rooster, monkey, ram.

He pressed one hand to the ground. Black tadpole-like markings spread out, forming a summoning array. A puff of white smoke burst forth, and in the middle of the array, Obito summoned a... rabbit?

It was a snow-white Long-Haired Rabbit, its soft, pristine fur entirely free of other colors. On closer inspection, there was a small streak of black fur between its brows. It gazed around in a daze, seeming quite surprised to have suddenly appeared there!

Obito was at a loss for words. Before he could say anything, the rabbit vanished with a poof...

"What the hell? Did a rabbit just reject me?" Obito stared in bafflement. Fortunately, Tsunade wasn't there, or she'd have teased him about this for a long time.

Obito shook his head, bit his finger again, and quickly formed the seals. With a poof, the rabbit from before reappeared in the array. Their eyes met. The Long-Haired Rabbit's blood-red eyes conveyed its anger with uncanny clarity. Stupid human, why won't you quit already?

"Heh!" Obito laughed in exasperation. If he didn't stew this damn rabbit today, it wouldn't know the might of Lord Obito!

Obito lunged for the rabbit's long ears with blinding speed. The rabbit's mocking gaze and its constantly chewing, three-petaled mouth only made him angrier!

At Obito's speed, the distance between them vanished in an instant. But just as he was about to grab the rabbit's ears, it disappeared into thin air! There was no poof.

"Hm?" Obito quickly dodged to the left. Whoosh! A strand of white fur shot past like a sharp sword!

Obito activated his Sharingan and quickly put some distance between them. He looked toward the direction of the attack. The Long-Haired Rabbit was crouched on the ground, gazing at him with a hint of mockery as it chewed away, as if saying something scornful...

Obito didn't need to think twice to know he'd summoned something extraordinary. It had an ability similar to his own space-time power, and might even be better than him at traveling through space!

"Little rabbit, I know you can understand me. How about becoming my summoning beast? I'll give you all the carrots you want." Obito addressed the Long-Haired Rabbit.

The mockery in the rabbit's eyes deepened. "Summon me again next time... and it'll be the last thing you ever do!" said a young female voice. As soon as she finished speaking, she vanished in a puff of white smoke.

"Damn... What a tsundere! That's exactly what you'd expect from the protagonist!" Obito hadn't said that classic line in a long time. I just killed Manda! Do you know that? You should ask around. On this street in Konoha, just ask who's the boss!

Summoning Technique!

Obito bit his finger again and quickly formed the seals. With a poof, he drew Ryujin Jakka and slashed down!

The usually unstoppable Ryujin Jakka was tightly bound by white fur. Obito pulled with all his strength, but found it incredibly difficult. The little rabbit didn't just have space-time abilities; its physical strength was top-tier, too! That only made Obito want her more.

Shikai! All things in creation, turn to ashes—Ryujin Jakka!

Boom!

Blazing flames burst from the blade. The white fur couldn't withstand the heat and caught fire. The flames raced along the fur toward the rabbit!

Caught off guard by the flames, the Long-Haired Rabbit hurriedly severed the lengthened fur, narrowly avoiding being roasted.

Then the Long-Haired Rabbit snarled, "You're dead!"

The fur all over the Long-Haired Rabbit's body rapidly grew longer, like countless soft swords, and attacked Obito's limbs, wrists, and other vulnerable spots. She was clearly trying to restrain the blade, which made her wary.

Obito's face was impassive. His Mangekyō Sharingan had unknowingly opened to its limit, tracking the trajectories of the attacks aimed at him. He focused on dodging the assaults from every direction, gripping his sword tightly and swinging again and again. There were no fancy flourishes, just rapid slashes—swing, swing, swing!

Obito gradually forgot what he was doing, and why he was swinging his sword. He had entered the realm of becoming one with his blade! White fur danced through the air like falling snow. Strangely, the rabbit's fur seemed endless. No matter how much he cut away, it grew back!
