I liked Longevity very much. It was a book written by following my own emotions, state of mind, and reflections on life. Aside from this one, Rebirth: Heartbeat and My Wife Is a Princess could also be considered works written in this same state.
The difference was that both Heartbeat and Princess carried a youthful vigor. Whether it was Qin An or Li Luyou, they both had a positive outlook on life and were willing to give everything for what they liked and cared about.
Longevity, on the other hand, had a hidden air of age about it. That came from me. Though I had tried hard to restrain and change it, there was no denying that Liu Chang'an was really only pretending to be young, just as I often forced myself to mingle in the social circles of teenage boys and girls.
I was no longer that young author who could post ten updates a day.
I also knew that this book's ending could not possibly satisfy everyone. There was nothing to be done about that. No one could satisfy everybody.
Maybe some people would say, "You could have done better. You didn't, so you deserve to be cursed at."
Even three years ago, I might have jumped up and argued back: "What makes you think I could have done better? Do you believe I could have done much worse?"
Haha... not anymore.
I did not argue back. I truly disliked arguing. I did not even like explaining or justifying myself, because all of it was futile.
No one cared what others had to say. Everyone spoke only to vent, because everyone knew that nothing they said would matter. Just as you did not care about others, others did not care about you... In this mutual indifference and lack
