Among the magical objects of the world, aside from ordinary things merely tainted with a trace of magical aura, they could be divided into magical instruments, magical treasures, spirit treasures, and Dao treasures.

Magical instruments ranged from talismanic implements inscribed with a single spell to magical objects refined with several complete techniques; all belonged to this category.

They also shared one common trait: they were still nothing more than inanimate objects.

Spirit treasures were those whose spark of spirituality had already grown to resemble a living being.

Like an infant growing into an adult.

Through continual refinement and growth, they developed sufficient intelligence to respond freely to certain situations like living beings.

The intelligence of a spirit treasure could be like artificial intelligence: given enough data, it could handle any situation.

Or it could be like a living being that had developed self-awareness, with preferences of its own.

Neither case was better or worse; it all depended on the treasure-refiner's preferences and the spirit treasure's own fortune.

As for Dao treasures, they were treasures containing the laws of the Great Dao.

Just as a person attained the Dao through cultivation, a magical treasure could possess a Dao of its own.

That was a Dao treasure.
