Background / History

Tang San was a God King who had inherited both the Sea God and Asura Godhoods. In the God Realm, he worried over the Tang Sect’s decline and the appearance of a new rising star on the Douluo Continent whose fate he could not observe. He had also prepared a larger plan involving the Child of Fate and the God Realm’s future. 3 435

After Huo Yuhao dragged him into spatial turbulence, Tang San’s reborn consciousness returned to the Douluo Continent ten thousand years earlier and occupied the body of a nameless beggar called “Xiao San.” The new body was frail, impoverished, and initially unable to support even sustained forging or cultivation. 3 10

He survived through patience, Tang Sect techniques, and murder. After killing a Star Luo City guard with hidden weapons, he discovered that the Sea God Trident had reincarnated with him and could drain a victim’s vitality and soul power. 10

Tang San later entered the Holy Spirit Cult, became its Holy Son, and pursued methods to rebuild his strength. He developed a spiritual soul core through a dangerous soul secret art, reconnected with the Godhead of Asura, and began arranging large-scale blood sacrifices to regain his divine throne. 112 453 454

After Ha Luosa thwarted his possession attempt and inherited the Godhead of Asura, Tang San retained a portion of its origin and turned his attention to the Asura God Trial and the Asura Demon Sword. He crossed eight trial checkpoints, sought to forcibly seize the sword, and was defeated when Huo Yuhao erased the consciousness attached to his attempt and used his remaining Asura origin to stabilize the trial. 570 571

Tang San later resumed his pursuit of divine power with a corrupted, incomplete Asura Godhead. He deceived Tang Hao about the God Realm’s crisis, coerced Niu Tian into a sacrifice, and had his hammer martial soul reshaped into the Clear Sky Hammer. His attempt to absorb Niu Tian’s Divine Ring failed when Niu Tian’s surviving will retaliated, leaving Tang San one-armed and forcing him toward the Abyss in search of another source of power. 582 585 586 587

Tang San’s appearance changes sharply between his reborn mortal body and his later demonic manifestation.
