Sasuke Uchiha

Fuyuki City, Miyama Town, Homurahara Academy.

Because a girl had gone missing during a club activity at school yesterday, all clubs were suspended today. Unless they had a special reason to stay, students were expected to head home as soon as possible.

At the school gates, a black-haired young man leaned against a tree, his expression blank.

This was the third year since Sasuke Uchiha had crossed over into this world. Now that he knew everything, he felt that things hadn't gone as he'd hoped back then. But having lost almost everything, he'd grown numb.

To Sasuke, this world was more like a new trial.

Today, Sasuke had come to Homurahara Academy to pick up the old man's granddaughter after school.

The old man's granddaughter was Kaoru Sakura, a first-year student in Class B at Homurahara Academy.

Kaoru had lived with her grandfather since she was little, so she'd welcomed Sasuke when he arrived three years ago. By now, she thought of him as an older brother.

Sasuke had an older brother he admired, but this was his first time being someone else's big brother, so he wanted to do his best to fulfill the role.

For instance, today, Kaoru wanted Sasuke to accompany her to the big shopping mall in Shinto after school so she could buy some clothes for spring.

But even after all the students had left, Sasuke still hadn't seen Kaoru.

Had something held her up?

Time ticked by, second by second. By the time the staff responsible for school security had left, Sasuke could wait no longer.

Whatever the reason, he had to go into the school and find Kaoru.

Dusk had fallen. The setting sun seemed to melt like red threads into the pale blue sky.

The empty school grounds were quiet and peaceful, but Sasuke furrowed his brows at the atmosphere.

He could feel a faint tremor in the air.

Someone was fighting inside the school.

"Ah—!"

A desperate scream rang out from the direction of the school building!

That voice—it was Kaoru!

Sasuke's gaze turned sharp in an instant, and he shot forward like a bolt of lightning!

In the blink of an eye, he had vanished from sight.

When Sasuke reached the scene, he saw Kaoru lying unconscious amid scattered books and documents.

A young man and a young woman in school uniforms stood beside her, and both noticed Sasuke suddenly appear before them.

They were both students at the academy. The red-haired boy was Shirou Emiya, while the girl with long black hair tied into twin tails was Rin Tohsaka.

Shirou Emiya didn't seem like much of a threat. The one who caught Sasuke's attention was Rin Tohsaka, standing beside him.

An odd, circuit-like pattern had appeared on Rin's left forearm, giving off a faint blue glow.

It didn't look like anything an ordinary person could have.

Sasuke saw the hostility in their eyes, and his normally dark gaze changed in an instant.

His irises became blood-red, the six-pointed star overlaid with a triangular pinwheel!

This was the Kekkei Genkai of the Uchiha Clan: the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan!

Sasuke's blood-red eyes locked onto the two of them as he asked coldly:

"What did you do to Kaoru?"

At his words, Shirou and Rin both froze for a moment.

Rin especially. The moment she saw Sasuke's Sharingan, she blurted out:

"Mystic Eyes?"

Shirou, meanwhile, explained:

"You've got it wrong. We heard her scream and came running too!"

After Shirou explained, Rin turned her gaze to Kaoru, who lay on the ground.

The next moment, Rin's brow furrowed. She snapped at Shirou and Sasuke:

"This girl named Kaoru has been completely drained from the inside!"

"You didn't know?"

Sasuke hurried forward and used his Sharingan to examine Kaoru, who lay unconscious on the ground.

Just as Rin had said, it was as if the life force had been drained from Kaoru's body...

Rin crouched down and examined her more closely before explaining to the two of them:

"Magic... to put it bluntly, it's life force. She doesn't have enough blood in her body. If we leave her like this, she'll die."

"Taking her to the hospital probably won't be fast enough."

Sasuke still had his abilities from the Ninja World, but he wasn't skilled in Medical Ninjutsu.

To think someone would harm an ordinary girl. Once he found the culprit, he'd make sure they got what they deserved!

Seeing the situation, Rin didn't hesitate. She took a gem from her pocket.

"But the gems I have on hand should be enough to deal with this for now."

As she spoke, Rin activated her Jewel Magecraft. Clutching the gem in one hand, she placed it over Kaoru's heart.

As the Jewel Magecraft took effect, the gem in Rin's hand began to shine with a brilliant green light.

The Jewel Magecraft worked quickly. Kaoru, who had been unconscious, finally showed signs of a response.

Kaoru coughed, her face twisted in pain. The others' expressions eased a little; at least this meant she might survive.

Just as Sasuke was about to thank Rin, Shirou suddenly sensed a powerful surge of magic nearby!

Almost at the same moment, a short sword wrapped in chains thrust toward Rin!

"Tohsaka..."

"Watch out!!!"

Rin was still treating Kaoru and couldn't spare a moment to react.

Without hesitation, Shirou stepped in front of Rin!

A clattering sound, like bones growing, rang out around Sasuke!

Just as Shirou thought he was about to be pierced by the chain-wrapped sword, Sasuke, who had been standing nearby, said coldly:

"Take care of Kaoru for now."

"I'm going after that guy."

Sasuke stood in front of them, his entire body protected by purple ribs and a spine.

Susanoo.

A power unlocked only by awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan!

The bone arm of Sasuke's Susanoo glowed purple as it gripped the flying chain-wrapped sword tightly, then crushed it to pieces!

At first, Sasuke had thought he would lose his chakra when he came to this world, but he hadn't. He could still use ninjutsu.

The energy felt different from chakra, but it was close enough.

And today, Sasuke finally understood.

The energy that still let him use these techniques and the Sharingan was called magic.

But none of that mattered to Sasuke.

Right now, all he wanted was to kill the one responsible for hurting Kaoru!

Seeing Sasuke use Susanoo, Shirou and Rin couldn't help looking astonished.

Rin was about to say something to stop Sasuke when he, Susanoo and all, shot toward the forest beyond the school like an arrow loosed from a bow!
