Conquering the Audience

As Lin Yuan darted into the bushes, the scene in the movie switched to the city.

The middle-aged couple playing Lin Yuan's adoptive parents formed a rescue team to save him, whose fate was unknown, and flew to Isla Sorna.

By this point, nearly ten minutes of the movie had passed, yet not a single dinosaur had officially appeared on screen.

The slow-paced opening of Jurassic Park 3 had originally drawn plenty of criticism. Many viewers formed a poor first impression because of it and gave the film negative reviews after watching it.

This time, because of Lin Yuan's involvement, an action stunt sequence had been added to the opening. His spectacular leap from the tree greatly diluted the opening's dullness.

The audience's reaction confirmed Lin Yuan's thoughts. He noticed that the viewers had generally remained patient and continued following the story.

After the rescue team arrived on Isla Sorna, they encountered what was theoretically the film's first thrilling sequence.

The movie's villainous boss, the Spinosaurus, appeared and attacked the rescue team. It not only destroyed the plane they had arrived in, but also swallowed the satellite phone they needed to contact the outside world for help.

In this sequence, the Spinosaurus's fangs, claws, and bloody slaughter were portrayed vividly. It should have made the audience's hearts race and their adrenaline surge.

However, Lin Yuan noticed that most of the audience merely found it somewhat interesting and did not feel particularly thrilled.

Regarding the audience's response, Lin Yuan could only sigh. It was not that Director Johnston had done a poor job; it was simply that by the third jurassic film, audiences had long grown tired of this kind of spectacle.

Given the technical limitations of the time, better visual effects could not be made. It was no wonder audiences were not buying it. In his previous life, Jurassic Park 3's poor reputation and box office performance had been understandable.

Although the audience's response was lukewarm, the man and woman beside Lin Yuan were reacting dramatically.

When the Spinosaurus attacked, the woman let out a shriek and tightly grabbed the man's hand.

The man froze for a moment, then immediately smiled and clasped her hand in return. "Don't be afraid. It isn't real."

Using the movie's thrilling sequence, the flirtatious pair had tested and confirmed each other's feelings. That was also one of the great merits of thriller movies.

Lin Yuan smiled as he looked at the couple brought together by fate. He believed that no matter what happened between them afterward, whenever they recalled this relationship, they would think of Jurassic Park 3.

This movie had taken on a special meaning for them.

The plot continued. The rescue team members were chased by various dinosaurs, forced to split up and flee for their lives.

Dr. Grant, an important character who had appeared in multiple Jurassic Park films, was now alone and cornered by a pack of Velociraptors.

Just as he was about to die, several homemade smoke bombs flew out from the nearby bushes, throwing the Velociraptors into confusion.

A figure darted out and grabbed Dr. Grant, pulling him into a frantic run.

That figure was Lin Yuan, who had previously been stranded on Dinosaur Island. He had already survived alone on the island for eight weeks.

The two ran into a pile of boulders, and Lin Yuan shouted, "Don't move. Wait for me."

He sprang upward nimbly, then reached the cave shelter at the top with a dazzling series of parkour moves. He threw down a rope and gestured for Dr. Grant to grab it and climb up.

"Wow! Those moves are absolutely unbeatable. He's even better than Jackie Chan at his peak," the white man could not help praising.

"See? I told you Lin Yuan would surprise you!" the woman said.

Previously, the man might have refused to admit his admiration for Lin Yuan out of jealousy.

But now that his love life was going well, he naturally felt more broad-minded. Besides, Lin Yuan's performance had genuinely won him over.

So he nodded and said, "Watching dinosaurs chase people while they keep running was getting a little boring. Now I'm suddenly looking forward to it. If dinosaurs chase Lin Yuan, it'll definitely be amazing."

"I watched the trailer on IMDb. There's a scene like that, so you won't be disappointed," the woman said.

"Good. Now I'm looking forward to it even more." As he nodded, the man naturally reached out and put an arm around the woman's shoulders.

The woman went along with it and leaned against his shoulder.

On the movie screen, Lin Yuan and Dr. Grant rested briefly in the shelter. After exchanging information, they set out again.

Then the two reunited with the other members of the rescue team, and Lin Yuan met his adoptive parents.

Watching his own "emotional" expression during the long-awaited reunion on the big screen, Lin Yuan could not help sighing inwardly. That acting was a little awkward.

When Lin Yuan joined the production, most of the plot had already been filmed. They had merely added some scenes involving him to tie it together, so there was nothing he could do about that flaw.

Just as the audience was beginning to doze off, the scene where Lin Yuan was chased by three Velociraptors appeared.

"That incredible backflip into a rebound jump... is that something a human can even do?" The man beside him instantly perked up.

"That scene was in the trailer. I came for that, but the actual movie is even better than the trailer!" The woman watched the part where Lin Yuan performed four consecutive long-distance diving rolls.

The man said solemnly, "I hereby declare that Lin Yuan is one of my idols now... Oh my god!"

Before he could finish, he saw Lin Yuan fall from a tree nearly eighteen meters high, snap two branches, and crash heavily onto the ground.

"Was that filmed for real?"

"It must have been. The dust kicked up from the ground isn't something special effects can create."

"This kid is as reckless as Jackie Chan. Is he okay?"

Discussion broke out throughout the theater.

"Watch quietly. There are behind-the-scenes clips after the credits as an extra," someone shouted, and the noise gradually died down.

"That was incredible. My palms were really sweating as I watched," the woman beside Lin Yuan whispered.

The man nodded. This time, the hands he and the woman held tightly really were both covered in sweat.

At the same time, a thought arose in their minds: those few action scenes alone made the ticket worth the price.
