Background / History

Earlier leadership and setbacks

Before Gu Yuena emerged from seclusion, Di Tian was revered as the Beast God and led the Star Dou Great Forest. He discovered the Ten Thousand Demon King during a patrol and brought him into the core circle for cultivation. He also captured the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm, which the fierce beasts subsequently used as a living source of cultivation energy 31 36 60 63.

Seeking an opportunity to become a god, Di Tian once crossed the ocean to the Sun Moon Continent and entered the Evil Demon Forest. There, he fought the Evil Eye Tyrant Sovereign. Although his Dragon God Claw heavily injured his opponent, the Evil Emperor’s Light of Time and Space nearly shattered Di Tian’s sea of consciousness. Recovering his vitality took several thousand years 64.

Gu Yuan’s arrival

Di Tian first encounters Gu Yuan’s presence through the Golden Dragon King aura spreading across the Star Dou Great Forest. Knowing that the Golden Dragon King should be sealed in the God Realm, he investigates to protect Gu Yuena’s slumber 2.

Despite recognizing the aura, Di Tian distrusts Gu Yuan’s human body and requests permission to capture him and probe his soul. Gu Yuena forcibly suppresses Di Tian with her dragon might, then declares Gu Yuan the forest’s Young Master, equal in status to herself. Di Tian subsequently helps train Gu Yuan by sparring with him during the following six years 3 4.

When Daming and Erming request help rescuing Xiao Wu, Di Tian warns that intervention could expose Gu Yuena to a human trap. He nevertheless accepts Gu Yuan’s decision to leave the forest with her. Later, he leads the fierce beasts to greet the pair, inadvertently interrupting their private moment 17 29.

Enforcement of the soul beast hierarchy

After hearing Gu Yuena’s account of Xiao Wu siding with Tang San, Di Tian proposes executing her and giving her hundred-thousand-year soul bone to Gu Yuan. When Daming and Erming arrive with killing intent, he defeats both with a single attack, leaving them severely wounded 30 31.

Di Tian then rejects their treatment of him as the highest divine authority, identifying himself instead as a loyal servant of Gu Yuena and Gu Yuan. Gu Yuena spares Xiao Wu but sentences her to permanent confinement and compulsory breeding; Di Tian approves selecting the strongest soul beasts as breeding partners 31 32.

Heavenly Curtain rewards and rebellion

Di Tian views the Heavenly Curtain’s soul beast ranking as an opportunity to overcome tribulations and the God Realm’s restrictions on beast ascension. He orders the fierce beasts to put collective interests above rivalry and promises to protect Xiong Jun even if Xiong Jun ranks above him 47.

That authority is challenged when Xiong Jun’s reward transforms him into a Bronze Behemoth. Its dragon-suppressing aura undermines Di Tian’s dragon might, and Xiong Jun attacks him to seize the Beast God position. Di Tian prepares to burn his essence blood for a desperate counterattack, but Gu Yuan intervenes and stops the strike 50 51.

The Evil Emperor and Dragon Valley

Seeing the Evil Emperor’s ranking reopens Di Tian’s resentment over their earlier battle. His determination to avenge himself gives way to humiliation when the Evil Emperor receives a Spiritual Core and a Space-Time Law Fragment; Di Tian privately acknowledges that he is now likely outmatched. Gu Yuan reassures him and takes him along to confront his former opponent 64 65.

After securing the Evil Emperor’s submission, Gu Yuan places the Evil Demon Forest under the Dragon Clan and the Evil Emperor under Di Tian’s command. Di Tian then accompanies Gu Yuan and Gu Yuena into Dragon Valley, where he receives the ancestral Black Dragon World Destroyer gauntlets 66.

Personality

Di Tian’s loyalty is initially expressed through suspicion and vigilance. He distrusts humans, regards the gods as evidence of human treachery, and refuses to tolerate an unknown risk near Gu Yuena. His early acceptance of Gu Yuan rests largely on Gu Yuena’s orders and bloodline authority; Gu Yuan’s promise of a divine artifact later gives him a more personal sense of belonging and hope 3 63.

He is ruthless toward perceived betrayal but places the soul beast race’s survival above internal competition. His proposal to kill Xiao Wu contrasts with his promise to protect Xiong Jun regardless of ranking, provided Xiong Jun does not disrupt their rulers’ plans 30 47.

Pride and ambition remain strong motives. Di Tian expects a high ranking, envies the Snow Empress’s artifact, and struggles to accept his defeat by the Evil Emperor. Beneath his outward composure, he also fears the next heavenly tribulation, which he is not certain he can survive 49 61 63 64.
