Xiao Wu participates in Shrek Academy’s final enrollment assessment alongside Tang San, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing. At age twelve, she is a Power Attack System soul master; she is described as eager for the coming fight against Zhao Wuji. 5

The Heavenly Curtain’s disclosure that Gu Yuan and Gu Yuena reside in the Star Dou Great Forest’s core area immediately terrifies her. She fears for Daming and Erming, believing the core area had been home only to herself and the two soul beasts. 5

Further revelations expose Xiao Wu as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. Tang Hao had identified her in human form when she was six and intended to preserve her as a future soul ring and soul bone for Tang San. The discovery shatters her sense of safety around Tang San and his father. 14 16
