Background / History
Tang San was born during the pursuit of his parents, Tang Hao and Ah Yin, by Martial Soul Hall. Ah Yin emerged from hiding with the infant Tang San and sacrificed herself to save both him and Tang Hao. Her sacrifice gave Tang Hao a hundred-thousand-year soul ring, a Blue Silver Emperor right leg bone, and a Blue Silver Grass seed. 10
Afterward, Tang Hao fled with Tang San and concealed them in Holy Soul Village, living as a blacksmith. Tang San grew up helping at the blacksmith shop and later departed for Notting Junior Soul Master Academy under Old Jack's guidance. 11 14
At six, Tang San awakened Blue Silver Grass in his right hand and the Clear Sky Hammer in his left. Tang Hao openly rejected the former as a “trash Martial Soul” but reacted with elation to the latter, revealing Tang San to possess twin martial souls. 13
The Heavenly Curtain’s account of Tang Hao’s life confirms Tang San as the son of Clear Sky Douluo Tang Hao and Ah Yin. Tang San initially interprets his father’s history as one of sacrifice and protection, but is devastated as the Sky Screen depicts Tang Hao’s alleged calculation of Xiao Wu as Tang San’s future hundred-thousand-year soul ring and soul bone. 9 10 12 14 15
Personality
Tang San is observant and analytical in battle, driving his Purple Demon Eye to its limit to study Zhao Wuji’s movements during Shrek’s assessment. 5
He is intensely protective of Xiao Wu. When Gu Yuan and Gu Yuena arrive at Shrek, Tang San shields her with his body, prepares ten Dragon Whisker Needles, and manifests the Clear Sky Hammer despite believing the pair to be vastly stronger. 22
The revelations concerning Tang Hao leave him emotionally vulnerable and conflicted. Xiao Wu’s fear that he might kill her for a hundred-thousand-year soul ring leaves him panicked and unable to reassure her convincingly. 15 After Xiao Wu is taken away, his grief turns into rage, despair, and an obsessive determination to recover her. 28 45 46

Heavenly Curtain: Tang Hao’s Exposure
The Sky Screen reveals Tang Hao as Clear Sky Douluo, prompting Tang San to initially hope the shared name is merely a coincidence. 8 He later confirms Tang Hao is his father and learns that Ah Yin was his mother. 9 12
Further revelations expose Tang Hao’s sharply different reactions to Tang San’s two martial souls and depict Tang Hao’s alleged long-term plan to use Xiao Wu as Tang San’s future soul ring and soul bone. Tang San is left shocked, ashamed, and unable to restore Xiao Wu’s trust. 13 14 15
