Spy Robots

"There are so many Micro Spy Robots here. And what the hell is this Project X?" Sun Yu couldn't help cursing.

Sun Yu wasn't surprised to see the Micro Spy Robots; after all, they had appeared in the Dragon Ball anime. But what was this so-called Project X? It didn't seem to exist at all. At that moment, it felt like a thousand wild horses were stampeding through Sun Yu's mind. He walked over to the computer and carefully read the text below.

The document was far too long, so Sun Yu only skimmed it. To his surprise, it really did contain information about androids and biological modification technology. It turned out Dr. Gero had already begun researching human-based androids at this point in time—beings much like Android 8.

If that were all, Sun Yu wouldn't be too worried. In the original Dragon Ball story, the androids' combat data came from Son Goku and the other Dragon Ball warriors. The strongest fighters on Earth at this stage were the likes of Tao Pai Pai, so the most Dr. Gero could manage was an android capable of absorbing energy. There was no need to worry.

Then, the next moment, Sun Yu felt his face burn with embarrassment.

The computer's database contained all kinds of combat information about him. It was obvious the Red Ribbon Army had taken notice of him and Lana as soon as they set foot on Earth. Sun Yu and Lana hadn't been active on Earth for long, but the Red Ribbon Army's spy robots were everywhere, and they'd gathered plenty of useful intelligence, including a sample of Sun Yu's cells.

With no Son Goku around, Sun Yu had become Dr. Gero's top choice! Never underestimate the madmen who love doing research. Who knew what kind of trouble they were cooking up all day?

Then there was Project X. After the spy robots recorded Sun Yu fighting an android, the footage was uploaded, and Dr. Gero immediately studied Sun Yu's cell sample. He planned to transplant a special chromosome from Sun Yu's cells into a biologically modified android. His goal was, of course, to create the ultimate weapon, avenge the Red Ribbon Army by killing Sun Yu, and, while he was at it, conquer the world.

"Damn, has my appearance completely thrown the plot off course? Is Cell going to be born early?" Sun Yu felt cold sweat forming. Even in his initial form, Cell was strong enough to fight a Super Saiyan. If Cell really came into the world early, Sun Yu's little more than twenty thousand in battle power would get him killed in an instant!

Earth was terrifying. Maybe he should just go back to Planet Vegeta and become a prince!

Just kidding. The so-called Project X probably wasn't Cell. Sun Yu guessed Dr. Gero wasn't capable of creating any particularly powerful androids yet. If he were, he wouldn't have let Sun Yu wipe out the Red Ribbon Army. What Sun Yu was considering now was whether to follow the trail to Dr. Gero and kill him before he could create a powerful android.

The laboratory before him was probably a data-collection and research center. All its data would be uploaded to Dr. Gero's private research headquarters. If Sun Yu could use the computer's transmission signal, tracking down Dr. Gero shouldn't be difficult.

But Sun Yu was now a pure-blooded Saiyan. Deep down, he couldn't shake his yearning for powerful opponents. If he really destroyed Dr. Gero, wouldn't that mean missing out on a bunch of powerful villains? Without those villains stirring up trouble, what would there even be to write about in this novel?

Sun Yu suddenly felt the weight of the world on his shoulders. Every decision he made could have far-reaching consequences.

With great power comes great responsibility! Sun Yu sighed, then smashed the computer with one slap and turned to leave.

As he left the room, Sun Yu casually fired an energy ball, destroying all the Micro Spy Robots inside. He wasn't afraid of androids, but there was a saying: you might not fear a thief breaking in, but you should fear one keeping an eye on your home. Being watched all the time by spy robots the size of flies wasn't pleasant.

With that matter settled, Sun Yu flew back. Dr. Briefs was watering the flowers in the garden. When he saw Sun Yu return, he set down his watering can and came over to greet him.

Lana was training in the Gravity Training Room. Sun Yu asked a servant to call her over, then went with Dr. Briefs to the living room.

The group gathered in the living room, and Sun Yu briefly explained how he'd discovered the mysterious research lab beneath the Red Ribbon Army's ruins. He also told them about Dr. Gero's Project X. Dr. Briefs looked worried, but Lana simply waved a hand dismissively. As a pure-blooded Saiyan, she wholeheartedly approved of what Sun Yu had done. She also announced that she would be using the Gravity Training Room until she could handle a hundred times Earth's gravity.

"Dr. Briefs, I think you should build me a separate Gravity Training Room. Without the sound system!" Sun Yu said helplessly.

At the mention of a room without a sound system, Dr. Briefs looked crestfallen, but he didn't dare refuse Sun Yu. "If that's what you want, give me five days."

"Kael, what are you planning to do with the Dragon Balls?" Lana was more concerned about the Dragon Balls than Dr. Gero's schemes.

Sun Yu took out a Hoi-Poi Capsule and opened it. With a poof, a small plastic case appeared in front of them. Inside, all seven Dragon Balls were neatly arranged.

"Wow, let me see!" Lana snatched the case from Sun Yu's hands and asked excitedly, "How do I make my wish? Do I just say it in my head, like wishing for something on my birthday?"

"Of course not. To make a wish, you first have to loudly recite the chant to summon Shenron, then make your wish to him. After that, your wish will come true!" Sun Yu said, gesturing animatedly as he spoke.

"Why does it have to be so complicated?" Lana didn't seem very pleased with the process. "And it's so conspicuous. Can't we do it discreetly?"

"Discreetly?" Sun Yu blinked. That didn't sound like Lana at all. "There's no way to keep it low-key. When Shenron appears, there'll be all kinds of strange phenomena—the sky will darken, and there'll be thunder and lightning. To be honest, I'd really like to see what it's like."

Dr. Briefs, standing nearby, pushed up his glasses and cleared his throat, making sure to remind everyone he was there and that he was interested too.

"By the way, Lana, what do you want to wish for? We may as well summon Shenron now while we're all here!" Sun Yu said.

"You're all coming?" Lana thought about having to reveal her wish in front of everyone, and her face instantly turned bright red.

"Yep!" Sun Yu and Dr. Briefs nodded enthusiastically.

"You... you're both so mean! I'm not making a wish anymore. Take the Dragon Balls back!" Lana angrily hurled the plastic case at Sun Yu, then stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

Sun Yu stared blankly at the Dragon Balls scattered across the floor. "What's gotten into her? Why did she suddenly get mad?"

"I don't understand women!" Dr. Briefs spread his hands and looked at Sun Yu, utterly baffled.
