"Oh, you mean it?" Sun Yu naturally understood what Shenron meant by having exceptional talent: his Sharingan. As the most powerful dōjutsu in Naruto, the Sharingan had all sorts of strange abilities. Maybe it really could let him control his Great Ape Transformation.
"Of... of course!" Shenron let out a long breath, looking as if he'd narrowly escaped death. "Saiyans transform into Great Apes because the moon reflects sunlight and emits Blutz Waves. As long as your eyes receive these wavelengths, you can transform. And I think your eyes are capable of automatically isolating Blutz Waves from sunlight, allowing you to control your transformation."
After hearing Shenron's explanation, Sun Yu nodded in deep agreement, but then asked with a puzzled look, "I can control the transformation now, but what about regaining my reason? If I can't stay rational after transforming, then it's all for nothing!"
Shenron's mouth twitched. He said meekly, "Sir, if my senses are correct, your eyes can help you regain your sanity. You should know that better than I do..."
"Fine, then. Hurry up and grant my wish!" Sun Yu urged impatiently.
"Certainly."
With that, a crimson light shone from Shenron's enormous eyes. Sun Yu's Sharingan abruptly activated, and an ancient incantation echoed through his mind. The tomoe in his eyes revolved once around the blood-red pupils, then returned to normal.
"That's it?" Sun Yu asked.
"Yes, sir. Your wish has been granted. Well then... sarawaka—goodbye!"
Before Sun Yu could reply, Shenron immediately rose into the sky, then transformed into a golden mass of light that hovered above. In his heart, he repeated hundreds of times that he never wanted to see this vicious monster again.
The golden light in the sky faded, leaving behind seven white, round stones. Once a wish was granted, the Dragon Balls turned to stone and needed a year to regain their former luster.
Just as the Dragon Balls were about to fly off in all directions, Sun Yu shot into the air and reached out with both hands, snatching all seven. Then he slammed them into the ground, leaving one small crater after another.
"Trying to run? Not a chance!"
After collecting all seven petrified Dragon Balls, Sun Yu descended triumphantly. He briefly explained the situation to the Briefs couple, told them to keep the Dragon Balls safe and not lose them, then flew toward the East City Grand Department Store.
On the way, Sun Yu activated his Sharingan and tried looking at the full moon above. A sudden restlessness stirred around him, but he used the special ability Shenron had granted his Sharingan to forcibly suppress it.
"Haha! Looks like that big mudfish didn't lie. I really can control my Great Ape Transformation at will!"
Excited, Sun Yu pushed his speed to the limit and soon returned to the East City Grand Department Store.
By then, the East City Grand Department Store had been reduced to ruins. Lana, transformed into a Great Ape, and Ace, transformed into a giant wolf, were still fighting. Lana had been overwhelmingly dominant from the start, but Ace had managed to hold on through sheer tenacity. The area for dozens of miles around their battlefield had been caught in the destruction. The residents had already been evacuated, and word was that the nation's military units were on their way. They would probably arrive soon.
Sun Yu spotted several police cars speeding along the road below. He lowered his flight path and kept pace with them.
"Hey, you guys! If you don't want to die, don't go any farther. That's not something you can handle!"
Sun Yu called out in warning. The windows of the police cars rolled down, and, as luck would have it, the officers inside were the same ones he'd met outside the Eastern Bank.
"Why is it you guys again?"
The people in the police cars spotted Sun Yu too. They stopped, then called out, "It's the great hero! What are you doing here too? Could it be..."
"You guessed right. Leave what's happening over there to me. Stay back so you don't get caught in the crossfire! And you'd better set up a cordon. I've seen plenty of reporters rushing in there like they don't care if they die."
Hearing Sun Yu's words, the East City police officers stood at attention as if they'd received an imperial decree, saluted smartly, and thumped their chests as they promised to carry out the task.
Sun Yu smiled helplessly, bid farewell to the lovely East City police officers, and flew toward Lana.
He was nearing the center of the battlefield. Sun Yu descended from the sky and activated his Sharingan. Under the moonlight, all the Blutz Waves converged into his eyes. He gave a shout: "Great Ape Transformation!"
"Roar!"
Sun Yu felt his body fill with power, as if he could destroy the world with a casual gesture. His body expanded rapidly, and his clothes tore apart. By the time he was about to hit the ground, his transformation was complete. His enormous body crushed an empty high-rise, and the earth shook beneath him.
Lana, in her Great Ape form, picked up Ace and casually flung him aside, then looked at Sun Yu with murderous intent. Ace, transformed into a giant wolf, seemed worried that Sun Yu would team up with Lana to attack him. With the little reason he had left, he decided to attack Sun Yu first.
And so Lana and Ace closed in on Sun Yu from either side. He slowly raised his enormous ape head. His eyes still glowed red with the Sharingan, and two pairs of tomoe turned within them.
"So, both of you are coming at me?" Sun Yu's mouth curled into a smile. He roared, "Flame Fist!"
That's right—Sun Yu had copied Lana's Flame Fist technique with his Sharingan. As his voice fell, scorching waves of heat radiated around him, and crimson flames wrapped around his hands.
"Let's fight to our hearts' content!"
Sun Yu threw a punch at Lana, but she suddenly leaped into the air. Just as Sun Yu was about to chase after her, Ace pounced at him, his two sharp forepaws slamming toward Sun Yu's chest.
"What the hell? You two were just fighting to the death, and now you're working together so smoothly? What's that about?"
He could complain all he wanted, but Sun Yu ducked and dodged Ace's pounce. He stretched out his ape-like arm, grabbed Ace, and threw him over his shoulder.
Sun Yu was still holding Ace and hadn't thrown him yet when Lana's attack came. With no other choice, he twisted around and used Ace as a living shield.
"Awooo..."
Ace let out a miserable cry as the blow landed. Sun Yu jumped behind him, grabbed Ace by the tail, and swung him toward Lana.
Facing the enormous wolf body hurtling toward her, Lana put all her strength into a punch. A series of cracking sounds rang out; more than likely, she'd broken several of Ace's bones.
Poor Ace. Sun Yu mourned him for three seconds... then decided against it. In a great battle, every second counted, so he grabbed Ace by the tail again and swung him at Lana.
The result was only to be expected. Reduced to a weapon in Sun Yu's hands, Ace was beaten senseless by Lana. There were hardly any bones left in his body that weren't broken.
You could call this a battle between Sun Yu in his Great Ape form and Lana, but no matter how you looked at it, it seemed more like Sun Yu and Lana taking turns brutally beating Ace in every way they could.
