One year later, Age 740.
Dr. Briefs' residence.
"Mr. Sun, I just received footage from my company's satellite. An unidentified spacecraft is heading toward our Earth, and it's expected to land in two hours!" Dr. Briefs handed a tablet-like device to Sun Yu.
Lana and Bulma leaned in to look at the screen, while Ace, who had been reduced to a bodyguard for the Briefs family, also snuck over out of curiosity. The screen displayed a single-pod spacecraft traveling through space, identical to the one Sun Yu and Lana had used when they first arrived on Earth.
"Saiyan!"
Sun Yu and Lana exclaimed in unison. They exchanged a glance and fell silent, attempting to gauge the newcomer's power level by sensing their ki, but no matter how hard they tried, they felt nothing.
Seeing them silent, Bulma asked curiously, "Is this person one of Brother Sun Yu and Sister Lana's kin? Is he here to take you away?"
Sun Yu smiled, patted Bulma's head, and said softly, "He should be one of our people, but it's unclear for now why he's here."
Who could it be? Sun Yu racked his brain. In the original story, Son Goku arrived on Earth in Age 743, so Sun Yu felt it was unlikely to be him. Could it be Vegeta? But if it were Vegeta, at two years old, he shouldn't have much of a power level; there was no reason Sun Yu and Lana wouldn't be able to sense his presence.
After much deliberation, Sun Yu remained puzzled and decided to go see for himself. "Sister Lana, let's go take a look together." Sun Yu was extremely confident now; with their current power levels, aside from Frieza, there were few in the universe who could threaten them.
Indeed, over this past year, Sun Yu's power level had caught up to Lana's, both reaching 300,000. Although Lana had trained like a madwoman after Sun Yu caught up to her, the martial arts foundation Sun Yu had laid over the year had begun to pay off.
This year, Sun Yu reached the "Knowledge Realm" of martial arts, and his power level skyrocketed. He spent only half the time training compared to Lana, yet his power level showed signs of surpassing hers, which nearly drove Lana to run back into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
With a power level of 300,000, and 3,000,000 in Great Ape form, unless Frieza transformed into his final form, he might not even be a match for Sun Yu.
"Hmph, go if you want, I still have to train this afternoon!" Lana refused flatly; she still couldn't accept the fact that Sun Yu had become stronger than her.
"Sister Lana, training requires a balance of work and rest. If you keep forcing yourself, your body won't be able to take it!" Sun Yu said with a faint smile.
"Mind your own business!" Lana blushed, turned around, and ran toward the Gravity Training Room.
Sun Yu watched her back, shook his head slightly, and turned to ask Bulma, who was leaning against him, "Bulma, are you coming?"
Hearing that Sun Yu was taking her out, Bulma happily pecked him on the cheek and said, "Yes, yes! Bulma wants to go out and play!"
Sun Yu chuckled. Dr. Briefs glared at Bulma, annoyed. "You only ever think about playing! Mr. Sun, I'll leave Bulma in your care!"
"Don't worry, don't worry. With me here, you can rest easy!" Sun Yu waved his hand at Dr. Briefs.
"Exactly, Dad, you're so long-winded." Bulma made a face at Dr. Briefs as she spoke.
Having decided to go, Sun Yu picked up Bulma and flew into the high sky, quietly waiting for the spacecraft's arrival.
Two hours passed in an instant. Sun Yu and Bulma gazed into the distance as a spherical fireball appeared in their field of vision.
"Brother Sun Yu, look at that spacecraft!" Bulma pointed excitedly at the location of the fireball.
"Let's go, we'll follow it and see." Sun Yu shielded Bulma in his arms and closely tracked the trajectory of the fireball in the sky.
The spacecraft streaked across the sky like a meteor and finally headed toward a mountain range Sun Yu was quite familiar with: Mount Paozu!
"Could it really be Son Goku?" Sun Yu's mind was in a whirl. If it really was Son Goku, it would explain why he couldn't sense his power level; an infant Son Goku's power level was only 2, so sensing that from a long distance was indeed very difficult!
The spacecraft eventually crashed into a canyon in Mount Paozu. Sun Yu landed on the ground while holding Bulma.
"Bulma, stand here and don't run around. Brother is going down to retrieve that spacecraft."
Because the landing had created a massive crater, Sun Yu intended to move the ship to flat ground first.
After flying down, Sun Yu looked through the transparent window and saw an infant with a very distinct hairstyle crying inside.
There was only one person in the world with that hairstyle: the low-class warrior, the Saiyan Kakarot, also known as Son Goku!
"It really is you! Sigh, great, the entire Dragon Clan plot is in shambles. What are you doing coming to Earth so early?" Sun Yu sighed, rubbing his forehead. The butterfly effect he had triggered was already in motion; he truly didn't know what other changes would occur in the future.
Sun Yu lifted the spacecraft out of the crater and placed it on the flat ground beside Bulma. The hatch opened, and Bulma stared wide-eyed at the infant inside, unable to help but exclaim, "Wow, what a cute baby!" This was the scene of the first meeting between the Bulma and Son Goku of this world.
Baby, he's not as cute as you! Sun Yu thought to himself. Suddenly, the spacecraft emitted a strange "buzzing" sound, and a holographic projection of a middle-aged man with a cape and a red, spiked hairstyle appeared.
"This is... King Vegeta!" Sun Yu stared at the hologram of King Vegeta, full of confusion. Bulma seemed frightened by King Vegeta's gaze and hid behind Sun Yu.
Soon, King Vegeta in the hologram spoke in the Saiyan Language: "My kin scattered to the edges of the galaxy, I now require your strength. Immediately terminate the mission to invade Earth and report to Planet Vegeta, otherwise, you shall suffer my wrath..."
"Brother Sun Yu, what is this person babbling about?"
Bulma couldn't understand the Saiyan Language, so she asked Sun Yu curiously. Sun Yu smiled helplessly, "Don't mind him, just some idiot talking to himself."
From King Vegeta's words, Sun Yu gathered the following information: First, King Vegeta had long known that he and Lana had come to Earth, though he assumed they were there to invade. Second, King Vegeta was in desperate need of manpower, which confirmed he had begun plotting a rebellion against Frieza. Finally, sending Son Goku ahead was likely to deliver a message and have him take over the mission to invade Earth.
Just as Sun Yu was considering how to handle this, a shout came from afar: "Hey... is that young Mr. Sun up ahead?"
(PS: There are many purists who criticize me, saying I don't even understand the basic timeline of the original work. The author knows that Son Goku was sent to Earth by Bardock before Planet Vegeta exploded, but purists, please pay attention to the plot of this book: King Vegeta is plotting a rebellion and needs to gather all effective forces. Since the protagonist doesn't have a communicator, King Vegeta uses this method to recall the two of them. This was set up by the author with the later plot in mind, so please, purists, don't flame me if you don't like it!)
