The Strongest in History

Dr. Briefs wore a relaxed smile. With his hands tucked into his white lab coat, he shrugged and said, "I'm glad you're all right, Mr. Sun. I'm sure you and Miss Lana must be hungry. I've booked a private dining room at the East City Hotel..."

At the mention of a meal, Sun Yu and Lana's stomachs obligingly let out a chorus of growls, making everyone burst into laughter.

Seeing that the mood was good, the East City police officers timidly edged over to Sun Yu. Rubbing their hands together, they asked, "M-Mister, could you tell us what happened over there? We heard there was a giant monster on a rampage... Were you the one who defeated it?"

As soon as the East City police asked their question, the reporters around them sprang into action, cameras and microphones of every kind pointed at Sun Yu. The commotion was a bit much for him.

"Something like that!" Sun Yu laughed awkwardly. After all, he was one of the monsters himself. "So you don't need to worry. The monster problem has been taken care of."

"Mr. Sun, I'm a reporter for the East City Blue Sky News Agency. How did you defeat that monster? I'm not questioning your strength, of course, but that monster looked taller than a building, and you..."

A reporter suddenly asked a question. The others nodded, showing that they wanted to know, too.

Before Sun Yu could answer, Bulma, nestled in his arms, proudly wrapped her arms around his neck and said sweetly, "Hmph, what's a monster to him? My big brother Sun Yu is the strongest person in history!"

The strongest in history!

The reporters quickly jotted down those words, then eagerly fired off the questions on their minds.

"Mr. Sun, where did you learn martial arts?"

"Mr. Sun, how old are you?"

"Mr. Sun, is the woman behind you your girlfriend?"

The reporters' overwhelming enthusiasm gave Sun Yu a headache. Lana's cheeks were already flushed, and when she heard someone ask about her relationship with Sun Yu, her heart pounded like a startled fawn. She kept sneaking glances at Sun Yu to see how he would react, but he seemed utterly unaffected, which made her furious.

Dr. Briefs could tell Sun Yu wasn't used to handling this sort of situation. He stepped in front of him and shielded him from the reporters. "Everyone, Mr. Sun Yu and Miss Lana are exhausted after defeating the monster. They need to rest. Capsule Corp will hold a press conference to share the relevant details. In addition, on behalf of Capsule Corp, I'd like to announce that we'll be purchasing the East City Grand Department Store and the surrounding area to build a new technology park. It will feature a landmark tower, which we'll name Lanyu Tower!"

The East City Grand Department Store had been reduced to almost nothing after the battle between Sun Yu, Lana, and Ace. So when Sun Yu heard that Dr. Briefs was buying up the land, his heart warmed. He quietly said to him, "Thanks, Doctor."

Briefs turned slightly and replied in a low voice, "Don't mention it. I was planning to expand the company anyway, though I'd originally intended to do it over in West City."

"Heh." Sun Yu gave a dry laugh. He was already used to disrupting the original events of the Dragon Ball world.

After finally fending off the reporters, Briefs took Sun Yu and the others to the East City Hotel. As for Ace, who was still barely alive, he probably wouldn't die anytime soon. So Sun Yu simply tossed him into the plane's trunk, planning to feed him a Senzu Bean and heal him after they finished eating.

Looking at Ace lying in the trunk, Sun Yu worried he might completely forget about him, so he reminded Lana, "Sis Lana, remember to remind me after dinner. There's still a half-dead guy in the plane's trunk."

Lana nodded solemnly. She crouched down and looked at Bulma. "Bulma, remember to remind me after dinner to remind Sun Yu that there's still someone in the trunk."

Bulma lowered her head and thought for a while. Then she quickly lifted her little head and looked at Sun Yu with big, adorable eyes. In her childish voice, she said, "Big brother Sun Yu, after dinner, remember to remind me to remind big sister Lana to remind you that there's still someone in the trunk!"

"Pfft..." As soon as Bulma finished speaking, Ace's body jerked violently. His wolfish eyes rolled upward, and he looked utterly despairing.

You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?!

"Ah, may God watch over you!" Sun Yu slammed the trunk shut and said solemnly.

For the next few hours, the chefs at the East City Hotel endured a nightmare.

After the feast, Sun Yu explained to Lana that he could transform into a great ape at will. In his eyes, the transformation ranked just below becoming a Super Saiyan, so he hoped Lana could do the same. She turned him down in no uncertain terms.

Lana said she wanted to use the Dragon Balls to make sure her tail never grew back. Though Sun Yu didn't understand her thinking, he told her the Guardian could seal away a Saiyan's tail.

Lana immediately set off for Karin Sacred Land to find the Guardian. Before leaving, she snapped at Sun Yu, "You blockhead!"

After being insulted out of nowhere, Sun Yu felt rather put out. When he got home, he took Ace out of the trunk and revived him with a Senzu Bean.

Perhaps because Ace had copied a segment of Sun Yu's genes, his strength had increased slightly after being revived. The moment he saw Sun Yu, he tried to get revenge!

Sun Yu, already in a foul mood, beat him to a pulp with Flame Fist, leaving him half-paralyzed! He really was a first-rate punching bag.

After Sun Yu revived him with another Senzu Bean, Ace protested and challenged him to a fight again. Sun Yu beat him until he was on his knees, shouting "Daddy, I was wrong" a thousand times before he finally stopped.

Sun Yu was very satisfied with Ace's apology and declared that he specialized in dealing with anyone who refused to admit defeat. Then he beat Ace up again.

Ace was on the verge of tears. "I already gave in! Why are you still hitting me?"

Sun Yu shrugged helplessly. "You called me Daddy. Does a father need a reason to hit his son? Seems like you still haven't accepted your place as my son!"

Then he beat him up all over again!

While talking with Ace, Sun Yu learned something that left him both amused and exasperated. It seemed Krillin might end up a bachelor after all. Ace had said earlier that he'd killed someone who called him a beast, and that person had been Dr. Gero. Dr. Gero's untimely death meant Androids 17 and 18 would never appear, and neither would Cell. Without Androids 17 and 18, Sun Yu had no idea whether Krillin would ever manage to find a girlfriend.

For a long time afterward, life settled back into its usual peaceful routine for Sun Yu, Lana, and the others. Dr. Briefs developed a Gravity Training Room with ten times Earth's gravity, and Sun Yu and Lana threw themselves into another round of training.

That continued until a year later, when a spaceship landed on Mount Paozu.
