The Strongest in History

Dr. Briefs wore a light, breezy smile. He tucked his hands into his white coat, shrugged, and said, "I'm glad you're alright, Mr. Sun. I imagine you and Ms. Lana must be famished, so I've booked a luxury suite at the East City Hotel..."

Hearing that a meal was on the way, the stomachs of Sun Yu and Lana let out a synchronized "rumble," drawing a burst of laughter from the crowd.

Seeing the atmosphere had lightened, the few East City police officers shuffled timidly toward Sun Yu, rubbing their hands together as they asked, "S-sir, could you shed some light on the situation over there? We received reports of a giant monster wreaking havoc... were you the one who took it down?"

As soon as the question left the officers' lips, the surrounding reporters swarmed in, fully equipped. A barrage of cameras and microphones were thrust toward Sun Yu, a spectacle that left him feeling quite overwhelmed.

"I suppose you could say that!" Sun Yu chuckled. After all, when it came to monsters, he was technically one of them himself. "So, there's no need to worry; the monster problem has been resolved."

"Mr. Sun, I'm a reporter from the Blue Sky News Agency. May I ask how you defeated that beast? Of course, I don't doubt your strength, but that creature looked taller than the buildings, and you..."

Suddenly, a reporter raised a question, and the crowd nodded in agreement, eager to hear the answer.

Before Sun Yu could respond, Bulma, nestled in his arms, wrapped her hands around his neck with a proud smirk and chirped, "Hmph, a monster is nothing! My big brother Sun Yu is the strongest person in history!"

The reporters frantically scribbled these words into their notebooks before shouting out their burning questions.

"Mr. Sun, where did you learn your martial arts?"

"Mr. Sun, how old are you?"

"Mr. Sun, is the lady behind you your girlfriend?"

Faced with such relentless, over-enthusiastic questioning, Sun Yu felt a massive headache coming on. Lana, whose cheeks were already flushed, felt her heart race when she heard someone ask about her relationship with Sun Yu. She kept stealing glances at him to gauge his reaction, but Sun Yu seemed completely oblivious, which only served to irritate her further.

Dr. Briefs noticed that Sun Yu wasn't cut out for this kind of scrutiny. He stepped in front of Sun Yu to shield him, saying, "Everyone, Mr. Sun Yu and Ms. Lana are exhausted after defeating the monster. They need to rest. Capsule Corp will hold a press conference regarding the details of this incident. Furthermore, on behalf of Capsule Corp, I would like to announce that we will be purchasing the East City Grand Department Store and the surrounding area to develop a new technology park. This park will feature a landmark building, which we shall name: Lanyu Tower!"

Because of the battle between Sun Yu, Lana, and Ace, the East City Grand Department Store had been reduced to ruins. Hearing that Dr. Briefs was buying the land, Sun Yu felt a warmth in his chest and whispered, "Thank you, Doctor."

Dr. Briefs leaned in and whispered back, "Don't mention it. I was planning to expand the company anyway, though I had originally considered West City."

"Heh." Sun Yu gave a dry laugh; he had long since grown accustomed to his interference in the original Dragon Ball timeline.

After finally dismissing the reporters, Dr. Briefs took Sun Yu and the others to the East City Hotel. As for Ace, who still had a breath of life left in him, Sun Yu figured he wouldn't die anytime soon, so he simply tossed him into the trunk of the plane, intending to feed him a Senzu Bean once they finished their meal.

Looking at Ace lying in the trunk, Sun Yu worried he might actually forget about him, so he instructed Lana, "Lana, remind me after we eat that there's a half-dead guy in the trunk of our plane."

Lana nodded solemnly, crouched down, and looked at Bulma with a serious expression. "Bulma, after we eat, please remind me to remind Sun Yu that there's someone in the trunk of our plane."

Bulma pondered this for a moment, then tilted her little head up, her big, adorable eyes wide as she said in a babyish voice, "Big Brother Sun Yu, after we eat, please remind me to remind Sister Lana to remind you that there's someone in the trunk of our plane."

"Pfft..." As soon as Bulma finished, Ace's body gave a violent twitch. His wolf eyes rolled back, his expression one of utter despair.

You guys are doing this on purpose, aren't you!

"Well, may God have mercy on your soul!" Sun Yu slammed the trunk shut and said with a heavy sigh.

The next few hours were a nightmare for the chefs at the East City Hotel.

After a hearty meal, Sun Yu gave Lana a rough explanation of his ability to transform into an Oozaru at will. In his view, the transformation was a skill second only to becoming a Super Saiyan, and he hoped Lana might be able to do the same, but she rejected the idea outright.

Lana expressed her desire to use the Dragon Balls to ensure her tail never grew back. Though Sun Yu didn't quite understand her reasoning, he told her that the Guardian had a way to seal a Saiyan's tail.

Lana immediately set off for Karin Sacred Land to find the Guardian, but not before scolding Sun Yu, "You big blockhead!"

Left feeling rather depressed after being berated for no reason, Sun Yu returned home, pulled Ace out of the trunk, and revived him with a Senzu Bean.

Perhaps because his genetic sequence had been copied from Sun Yu, Ace's strength had increased slightly upon revival. The moment he saw Sun Yu, he wanted revenge!

He was promptly beaten black and blue by a grumpy Sun Yu, who used his Flame Fist to leave him half-paralyzed. A truly qualified punching bag of wolf meat.

After being revived with another Senzu Bean, Ace refused to submit and challenged Sun Yu again, only to end up on his knees, forced to shout "Father, I was wrong" a thousand times before Sun Yu finally stopped.

Sun Yu was quite satisfied with Ace's attitude, but noting that he specialized in curing all forms of defiance, he gave Ace another beating for good measure.

Ace was on the verge of tears. "I already gave in, why are you still hitting me!"

Sun Yu shrugged helplessly. "You called me Father, don't I need a reason to discipline my son? It seems you still haven't grasped what it means to be my child!"

Then came another sound thrashing.

While chatting with Ace, Sun Yu learned something that left him both amused and speechless. It seemed Krillin might be destined to remain a bachelor. Ace mentioned that he had killed a man who called him a beast—that man was Dr. Gero. Dr. Gero's premature demise meant that Android 17 and Android 18 would never appear, and by extension, neither would Cell. Whether Krillin would ever successfully find a girlfriend without the androids was anyone's guess.

For a long time after that, life for Sun Yu and the others returned to peace. Dr. Briefs developed a 100x Gravity Training Room, and Sun Yu and Lana threw themselves into a new round of training.

That was until, one year later, a spaceship descended upon Mount Paozu.
