"Mind Transfer Jutsu!"
The group's tactical coordination was excellent. As Mirai Uchiha moved to attack Minato Namikaze and Uchiha Fugaku, Inoichi Yamanaka, positioned behind Li, immediately activated his clan's secret technique. He invaded Li's mind to seize control. Human actions are commanded by the "mind," which acts as the command tower for the entire body; once the opponent's mind is controlled, one can forcibly issue commands to their body, such as picking up a Kunai to commit suicide. Of course, the "mind" here does not refer to the heart, but to consciousness!
"Shadow Possession Jutsu!"
The Ino-Shika-Cho families have been allied clans for generations, and their secret techniques are designed to be used in tandem. Moreover, the three shared a tacit understanding. After Inoichi Yamanaka invaded Li's mind, Shikaku Nara, who had been hiding behind Choza Akimichi, immediately activated his shadow technique. In an instant, their shadows overlapped, becoming indistinguishable from one another.
"Mirai Uchiha, I wonder if this test should end here?"
Having restrained Li, Choza Akimichi took two steps forward and said calmly. He had great confidence in the secret techniques of the Yamanaka and Nara clans. Perhaps one could break free from a single technique, but with both binding him simultaneously, Choza Akimichi did not believe Li possessed such ability.
"What are you talking about?" Li smiled slightly, his hands resisting the pull of Shikaku Nara's Shadow Possession Jutsu. In his inner world, Li could clearly feel as if an extra personality had appeared in his brain.
Hearing Li's words, Choza Akimichi's expression stiffened, and he frowned slightly. He assumed Li was simply refusing to admit defeat and was about to say something when Inoichi Yamanaka suddenly let out a startled cry. He had been perfectly fine inside Li's body, but for some reason, a pair of massive Sharingan suddenly appeared before him, hanging above his head like two blood-red moons. Inoichi Yamanaka hurriedly retreated from Li's body, stumbling back two steps with his eyes wide open, before fainting on the spot. As he was withdrawing, Li had used a genjutsu to stimulate his mind; his collapse was merely the result of severe mental exhaustion.
"He broke free?"
It wasn't just Choza Akimichi; Minato Namikaze and the others were shocked. They knew a little about the Yamanaka clan's secret technique—once caught, it was extremely difficult to break free unless one possessed overwhelming strength, and even then, it would take time. Yet, Li had broken free in an instant. Just how great was the gap between them? One had to remember that Inoichi Yamanaka was already at the level of an elite genin, and he had the assistance of Shikaku Nara's Shadow Possession Jutsu to boot.
"This boring fight ends here. Now, I'm going to get serious!" Ignoring their shock, a violent surge of chakra erupted from Li's entire body, instantly shattering Shikaku Nara's Shadow Possession Jutsu. The force of the breakout caused an immediate backlash, leaving Shikaku Nara pale as he stumbled back a few steps.
"Such powerful chakra, this..." Minato Namikaze shielded his eyes with his hand to block the wind and sand stirred up by Li's chakra, feeling deeply despondent. No matter how hard he tried, the distance between them filled him with despair.
The gap between a jonin and an elite genin is like the difference between a stream and the Yangtze River; there is simply no comparison. Once Li got serious, it took less than ten seconds for all the test-takers to be floored. Uchiha Mikoto was given special treatment, with a single finger tap to her leg rendering her immobile. The only thing that surprised Li slightly was that Minato Namikaze's strength had already reached the level of a chunin. A nine-year-old chunin—no wonder he would become Hokage in the future.
The spectators were in an uproar. No one expected this test to be such a one-sided rout. If the person being tested had been a jonin, no one would be this surprised, but the examinee was only a nine-year-old child! Three years ago, he was a first-year student; three years later, he was still only a third-year. After the shock subsided, a wave of cheers erupted, and everyone was incredibly excited.
"Damn it, is this the gap between him and me?" Uchiha Fugaku lay on the ground, filled with resentment. Seeing the near-obsessive look on Uchiha Mikoto's face nearby, he felt an even deeper sense of bitterness.
"Alright, this test ends here. You all did quite well and are fully capable of serving as genin. I hereby grant you graduation!" Li scanned the group briefly before pulling out a stack of documents and adding, "Now, take your respective files to the Third Hokage to receive your ninja headbands!"
They should have been happy, but none of them could muster any joy. Being defeated by a classmate, and in a group attack no less, left them feeling deeply ashamed. Struggling to their feet, they silently took their documents from Li and walked away with their heads bowed, the surrounding cheers feeling like a cruel irony that struck at their hearts.
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for successfully completing the mission. Reward: 1,000 points!]
Hearing the system's notification, Li let out a soft breath. It was finally over. Fighting elite genin was truly meaningless. If not for the desire to complete the system missions more effectively, he might have just declared them passed immediately.
Ignoring the shrill cheers, Li turned and walked away, leaving the group of students with nothing but his retreating back.
"Oh? That brat's strength is probably enough to serve as a special jonin. What do you think, old man? The chunin exams are coming up in a while; any thoughts on letting this kid win some glory for Konoha?"
With the test over, Jiraiya and the Third Hokage, who had been hiding in the shadows, stopped their observation.
"Heh, I was thinking the same thing. Since you've just returned, I intend to have you lead a squad. How about it?" The Third Hokage chuckled and nodded, looking at Jiraiya.
"Don't joke around. Do I look like the type of person who can lead a squad?" Jiraiya waved his hand, hurriedly declining.
"Don't be in such a rush to refuse. I know exactly what kind of person you are, which is precisely why I'm asking you to lead. Come to think of it, didn't you take on three disciples in the Land of Rain?" The Third Hokage puffed on his pipe and said calmly.
The Third Hokage knew about this matter; Orochimaru and Tsunade had reported it. However, to protect Jiraiya's reputation, the Third Hokage had told the public that Jiraiya had gone on a journey. After all, Amegakure was an enemy of Konoha at the time; if people knew Jiraiya had been teaching Ninjutsu to orphans from the Land of Rain, some might use it to suppress him.
"The three children I want you to teach have a certain significance to Konoha. I don't trust anyone else, so consider this a favor to an old man!" Fearing Jiraiya wouldn't agree, the Third Hokage played the emotional card.
