Background / History

Qian Daoliu is the Grand Elder of Martial Soul Hall and its Worship Hall, a legendary spirit master whose strength kept hostile factions—particularly the Clear Sky Sect—from acting rashly. During his mortal life, he was regarded as a titan of the spirit master world and had only been defeated by Tang Chen, while his loss to Bo Saixi occurred on the ocean, where she possessed a geographical advantage. 1 2

As the inheritor of the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul, Qian Daoliu upholds the Angel Clan’s mission of justice and the eradication of Evil Soul Masters. He has personally killed numerous fallen soul masters and considers their existence fundamentally irreconcilable with Martial Soul Hall. 4

He is the father of Qian Xunji and grandfather and mentor of Qian Renxue. Though disappointed by Qian Xunji's actions toward Bibi Dong, he remains deeply attached to his only son and vows to protect him after his resurrection. 16 21

Qian Daoliu is composed, refined, and guided by a strict moral code. He refuses to use his seniority to personally settle Qian Xunji’s grievance with Bibi Dong, acknowledging that both sides bear fault; however, he will not allow Bibi Dong to harm his son again. 21

His restraint gives way to ruthless fury when Martial Soul Hall, the Angel Clan, or its mission is threatened. Ye Xishui’s account of Martial Soul Hall’s future destruction convinces him that Tang San must be eliminated before that future can occur. 6 8

He also values the Worship Hall elders, shown when he spares Ye Xishui’s Soul Spirit solely out of respect for Golden Crocodile Douluo. 35

Qian Daoliu is selected as Martial Soul Hall’s first Arena representative against Ye Xishui, the Holy Spirit Cult’s Supreme Sect Master from ten thousand years in the future. His reputation alone causes continent-wide alarm, while several hostile factions hope that Ye Xishui will defeat him. 2 3

Ye Xishui reveals that Martial Soul Hall will eventually be destroyed by Tang San. Though initially shaken by the revelation, Qian Daoliu resolves to change that future by killing Tang San after the tournament. 4 6

He withstands the semi-finished Death God Tower with Angel True Body, then kills Ye Xishui in a battle lasting less than a minute. 6 7

Ascension as the Sun God

Qian Daoliu’s Arena victory grants him the Sun God divine position. He reaches level 100, becoming the first new deity on the Douluo Continent in ten thousand years and greatly increasing Martial Soul Hall’s influence. 8

Despite the achievement, he focuses immediately on the threat of Tang San rather than celebrating, recognizing that the future destruction of Martial Soul Hall remains possible. 8

Qian Xunji’s Return and Bibi Dong’s Expulsion

When Qian Xunji is restored through the Arena, Qian Daoliu reunites emotionally with his son and promises to protect him without directly interfering in Qian Xunji’s conflict with Bibi Dong. 21

After Bibi Dong overwhelms Qian Xunji, Qian Daoliu intervenes as a First-Class God, strips her of the Pope position, and expels her from Martial Soul Hall. 22

Ye Xishui’s Soul Spirit

Golden Crocodile Douluo later obtains Ye Xishui as a Soul Spirit. Although Qian Daoliu still considers her existence intolerable, he allows her to remain because she belongs to Golden Crocodile Douluo, while warning her that any disloyalty will result in the destruction of her soul. 34 35
