Candles
Zul'ra got up early in the morning and had a blast last night with that Defias buddy Monsens, which made me feel a little happy. Well, in short, I felt very happy. I took advantage of the good mood of the morning to read the Kobold cultural manuscript written by Lojihan.•._.••´¯``•.¸¸.•` `•.¸¸.•´´¯`••._.•
Kobold is a very backward race. They have not left a strong mark on history like Trolls and Elves. However, they still have their own culture. Although times have changed, they still left one or two poems to record their history and incorporated some of their history into their daily habits, such as the candles above their heads.
Kobold people love to dig for those bright ores. In order to dig in the dark underground, they put burning candles on their heads for lighting. Those burning candles with tears are definitely not just a lighting tool for them, but also contain a unique emotion.
They have a brief description in a folk poem. Kobold once encountered an invasion by a creature named "Dagoba", which robbed their underground cave, but Kobold mocks those creatures as "stupid big shovel heads" in the poem, because they only want caves without candles. When Dagoba is swallowed by the darkness underground, Kobold will return to the cave with candles.
The description of the poem is very brief and visual, but Lojihan makes a conjecture-like summary. Kobold believe that there are some unpredictable dangerous creatures in the shadows underground. Those creatures live and die with the darkness. The invading creatures Dagoba should be killed by the dangerous creatures.
Kobold survives tenaciously in the dark underground with the candle above his head. Candles can illuminate the darkness. If darkness does not exist, those dangerous creatures will not appear. Therefore, for Kobold, candles are not only a prop to illuminate the darkness, but also a prop to illuminate life.
No matter whether dark and dangerous creatures really exist, no matter what Dagoba is, Zul'ra admires the candle culture of Kobold, and also has some feelings. Life is just like a lamp. The light may be bright or weak, and it can benefit the world. If you are poor, you must take care of yourself. Everyone should light a lamp for themselves and use the light to illuminate the way forward in life.
Taking advantage of the beautiful time in the morning, Zul'ra turned over his thoughts and looked at the time. He put away Lojihan's manuscript. Now Amani's "Modern History" is almost finished, but he will also write personal and racial biographies in the future, and these materials will be used at that time.
After collecting the manuscript, Zul'ra went to greet Edwin and Monsens. Edwin woke up in a good state in the morning and greeted them very politely. Monsens next to him also smiled and nodded but did not speak. Neither of them mentioned what happened last night. Zul'ra did not speak either. He only invited them to have breakfast and talk about things.
Edwin is a resolute person. During the conversation, he asked Zul'ra to make arrangements as quickly as possible. Zul'ra could also understand his mood. After all, Defias Brotherhood was being tracked by SI:7's agents, so they had to be anxious.
Zul'ra sent an order to Highland Shipyard in the south, asking them to sort out a settlement as quickly as possible, and then dispatched a destroyer and a ship. These were the ships responsible for helping Edwin transport Defias brothers and their families.
In addition to the ship, Zul'ra also gave Edwin a sum of money and selected five Tooth-Soldiers and two outstanding Witch Doctor apprentices. After giving them some instructions, he asked them to accompany Edwin to the south to provide military guidance to Defias Brotherhood.
After everything was arranged properly, Edwin and Monsens immediately went south with assistance. Within a week, a group of elite human engineers and technicians poured into Amani's shipyard from the south.
Before Zul'ra learned that Defias Brotherhood members were coming, he had people draw up some projects, such as steel plants and shipyards that needed to be re-planned. These projects were first reviewed by human engineers, and then they were contracted to those teams of craftsmen.
The engineers and technicians of Defias lived up to their expectations. Their ideas and technologies were much more flexible and refined than those of Trolls and Goblins. Take the steelmaking plant for example. The original steelmaking plant was all made by local methods, but the human engineers re-planned it, raising some furnaces and connecting them with each other with corridors.
The wrought iron is melted in a high furnace and the pig iron is placed low in a rotating furnace. When the raw and wrought iron are melted together, the tunnel between the furnaces is opened directly, so that the wrought iron juice is directly poured into the pig iron juice along the tunnel, and then rotated and stirred. When the molten steel is melted, they directly release the molten steel through the tunnel, and the whole body is cast with a membrane mold.
Human craftsmen have also set up some levels to finely smelt the ore, blowing in carbon powder to smelt wrought iron ingots and pig iron ingots of uniform quality to ensure that the quality of the smelted steel is uniform. They use engineering to standardize and streamline many things, which not only improves work efficiency but also improves product quality.
In addition to engineering, human craftsmen have also brought a lot of new technologies and knowledge. Just like ores, Trolls doesn't know much about ores. They can't even tell the difference between true silver, mithril and Thorium. However, humans have learned how to explore the properties of various metal ores, and distinguish and apply them.
Zul'ra specially asked Maki to organize people to learn from those Defias technicians and record the properties and characteristics of those ores. Mithril was gray in color, light and tough in texture, Thorium is slightly green, has a hard and soft texture, is white in true silver, and has a surface as smooth as glass. All three can be blended into steel, which can reduce the weight of the armor blade without affecting the toughness of the armor blade. There are also hard cobalt, corrosion-resistant titanium, solid fine gold, etc.
Defias's engineers and technicians have not only brought smelting and manufacturing, but also the mining industry to a new level. Many mithril, Thorium and real silver were discovered in the mountains around Jintha'Alor The mineral veins are quite rich in output, and there are also some cobalt ores and fine gold ores. In addition to the gem jade produced by Zul'Aman, Zul'ra also discovered it for the first time. It turns out that Amani is not so poor after all.
Compared with many new technologies and knowledge, the firearm technology that Zul'ra was originally very satisfied with is not satisfactory. The firearm technology in this world originated from Dwarves. They used nitrate and sulfur mined in the ground and mixed with charcoal powder to make gunpowder. It is similar to that on earth, but to ordinary people, it looks like they are using stones to make gunpowder.
Zul'ra has never seen Dwarves's muskets, but the muskets and gunpowder made by Defias Brotherhood mechanics are really unsatisfactory, without any accuracy, and it is difficult to penetrate even scale armor and mail armor, let alone heavy armor.
Azeroth's resources are very abundant, and some races are also blessed with the ability to move like the wind even when wearing heavy armor. Coupled with their bravery, the tactic of queuing to kill cannot be used, so firearms are not very outstanding, but it may be different if magic is integrated. Zul'ra asked some craftsmen to learn how to make gunpowder, and try to improve it, which can be used to make cannons, bombs and rockets in the future.
Thanks to Yangtian Changxiao Xiqi Baihong and shenmeguiwan for the reward, and for the support.
