Peace Means Picking Another Day for the Decisive Battle
The two sharp ice spikes were launched by Tervosh, who had just arrived. As the spikes missed their mark, a blue magical light shone on Daelin —a spell cast by Jaina, who had arrived with Tervosh. Relying on his magical shield, Daelin initially tried to swing his scimitar forward, but was stopped by Elerethe.
"Father." Jaina called out as she saw her father about to step forward. Hearing her words, Daelin had no choice but to stop.
"Jaina, it's so good to see you here. I am Elerethe Lal of the Cenarion Circle. I've seen you before." Elerethe looked at Daelin, who had stopped, and nodded politely to Jaina.
"I've seen you before, Lord Lal, and you, Zul'ra Jin." Jaina nodded to Elerethe, and also greeted Zul'ra beside her.
"It's nice to see you again, Miss Proudmoore." Zul'ra smiled and nodded to Jaina, who had become even more beautiful and charming after not seeing her for several years. This made Daelin on the other side hold his breath, and then tighten his grip on his scimitar and musket.
"Jaina, I have come here on Lady Tyrande Whisperwind's orders to mediate the war between you and the Horde." Elerethe reiterated his purpose, showing respect to Jaina, who had participated in the War of Mount Hyjal.
"As long as I live, I will never stop hunting Orcs." Daelin stated his words firmly, causing Jaina, who was about to speak, to grimace in pain. What else could she possibly say?
"So, Theramore's choice is war?" Elerethe asked Jaina, looking at the silent Zul'ra.
"No, we want peace." Jaina was annoyed by her father's behavior, but she didn't change her mind.
"Unless all the Orcs are dead." Daelin bluntly contradicted his daughter, causing Elerethe beside him to stiffen slightly. What kind of father is this?
"It seems there's nothing to discuss." Elerethe's face stiffened. She felt she had come all this way for nothing. She had been full of confidence, but now she could only stand here awkwardly, and it was all because of that admiral, that old bastard.
"I don't think so." Zul'ra looked at the stiff-faced female Druid, raised her eyes slightly, and looked at Daelin with a half-smile, causing Jaina and the female Druid to turn their attention to him.
"Proudmoore, you want to fight us, don't you!"
"Hmph!" Daelin responded with a cold snort.
"Since you insist on fighting, how about this: we set a date and then have a decisive battle to the death? A final battle between Kul Tiras and the entire Horde." Zul'ra smiled and spread his hands. Faced with his words, Daelin's breathing quickened, and his face turned red. How could Kul Tiras possibly fight the Horde?
"What date do you want to arrange?" Daelin asked, his face flushed and his voice choked with rage. He deeply hated the Orcs and the Horde because his son Derek Proudmoore had died in the dragonfire of the Dragonmaw Clan Orcs during the Second War, and he would never let go of that hatred.
"You know what? The entire Eastern Kingdoms is Undead. The source of those Undead is in the northern Northrend, ruled by a Lich King. The Horde will begin to cleanse the Undead. After we kill that Lich King, we'll have our final battle!" Zul'ra said something that made Jaina's expression change.
"What kind of being is that Lich King?" Jaina, upon hearing about the the Scourge, was immediately struck by a thought. Her expression shifted from conflicted to urgent, and she looked at him with a hint of tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry, Jaina, I don't know much." Zul'ra shook her head apologetically at Jaina, then looked at Daelin.
"Admiral Proudmoore, do you accept this agreement?"
"I accept, but I'll revise it. Our final battle won't be Kul Tiras against the Horde, but the Alliance against the Horde." Daelin's white cheeks trembled as he choked on his words as he modified the agreement, causing Elerethe's eyebrows to twitch, while Jaina was completely flustered and speechless.
"Alright, but before that, we need to discuss how to ensure peace during the agreed timeframe, under the witness of the Kaldorei." Zul'ra nodded as she looked at Daelin who had agreed, and then turned to signal Elerethe, the female Druid, who quickly stepped forward.
"I will guarantee Theramore's safety. You must not invade this place again before the final battle." Daelin looked at the purple-skinned Elves who stepped forward, rubbing his cheeks.
"No problem. As for the safety of Durotar, your troops that invaded the Echo Isles and Durotar must withdraw from there immediately, without any conditions." Zul'ra nodded in agreement, while stating her own demands.
"Okay," Daelin agreed through gritted teeth.
"Then it's agreed that the Kaldorei, as witnesses to this agreement, will watch over both of you. If either of you violates this agreement, the Kaldorei will make them pay the price." Elerethe, observing the sudden turn of events, made her witness statement after much deliberation. This was the purpose of her presence; although peace was a different matter, it was better than an immediate bloodbath.
"That's settled then! Please withdraw your soldiers from Echo Isles and Durotar as soon as possible. We will lift the siege whenever you order the withdrawal." Zul'ra looked at the resolute Elerethe, Daelin's heaving chest, and the heartbroken Jaina, and shook her head slightly.
Zul'ra and Elerethe left Theramore together. Zul'ra brought the news to Thrall. Thrall frowned when he heard about the agreement for the final battle, but he was also relieved. At least he didn't have to fall out with Jaina now.
Soon, all the Kul Tiras soldiers in Durotar and Echo Isles withdrew, and Thrall lifted the siege of Theramore. Cairne Bloodhoof praised Zul'ra's achievements, but Vol'jin, upon receiving the news, gave the opposite opinion.
"You've made us miss the best opportunity to wipe out those humans." Vol'jin's gloomy eyes swept over Zul'ra like knives during the meeting in the Durotar tent.
"Survival in nature is never about eliminating the enemy, but about outliving the enemy," Zul'ra gave a rather cowardly answer.
"Coward." Vol'jin's words were filled with contempt.
"Sometimes, outliving your opponent might require some special methods." Zul'ra squinted at the hunchbacked Jungle Trolls, such as letting his opponent die before him.
"Enough!" Thrall roared, stopping the two from about to clash, Vol'jin as Thrall was about to straighten up after being provoked.
"Zul'ra did nothing wrong. We should hope for peace. Although we have preordained a great war for our future, tell me, are you afraid of this war?" Thrall glared at Vol'jin, then looked at Zul'ra.
"No." Vol'jin straightened up, clenched his fist and placed it against his chest, while Cairne Bloodhoof and Zul'ra beside him did the same.
"We will not fear war, whenever it may happen, especially since we have foreseen it. Therefore, we should be better prepared, for example, by uniting together." Zul'ra's words were much more comprehensive than Vol'jin's, and she also gave the Darkspear chieftain a contemptuous look that made him want to explode.
"Yes, absolutely right." Thrall looked at Zul'ra with a puzzled expression; these were the words he had originally intended to say.
