Forest's Light
A large area of the undead camp is located at the foot of the mountain. The dark and cold ziggurat, the axle factory filled with corpses, the transparent ghosts of banshees floating by, the shambling zombie skeletons, and the hateful butchers dragging hooks and chains are completely revealed by the crystal ball. 🍧💋 ➅➈s 🐠🐯
The imagery in the crystal ball kept shifting, eventually settling on the center of the Undead camp, where a massive, dark Necropolis stood. Inside the Necropolis were powerful guards: transparent shadows hidden along the walls, and black-armored Tauren undead knights Undead.
Zul'ra looked at the Tauren Undead knight flashing in the crystal ball with a slightly surprised expression, but quickly calmed down. The image on the crystal ball finally stopped in the central hall of the Necropolis, where there was a huge, rooted tree stump with a perfectly smooth surface, which looked as if a magnificent tree had once existed there.
"This is Thas'alah." Valeera exclaimed instantly as she looked at the enormous tree stump inside the crystal ball, her expression one of utter shock.
"Thas'alah?" Anveena looked a little confused. She felt like she had heard the name before, but she couldn't remember where she had heard it.
"It's the light of the forest, this is Deatholme." Zul'ra covered the image in the crystal ball with her hand, restoring the crystal ball to its transparent calm.
The term "Thas'alah" is Thalassian that translates to "Light of the Forest." When the Quel'dorei settled in the Eastern Kingdoms and built the Sunwell, its abundant energy was absorbed by an Sunwell tree.
The Quel'dorei called the ancient tree that absorbed the energy of the Sunwell the Light of the Forest, and built a military fortress around it, which became known as Deatholme. It was a key town that served as a twin city with Stratholme in Lordaeron. However, like Stratholme, Desolum was eventually destroyed by the the Scourge, and Thas'alah was also felled.
"Is that Undead in Deatholme?" Tarecgosa asked Zul'ra, who was covering the crystal ball with her hand and stopping the projection, instead of being concerned about Thas'alah's situation.
"That should be true." Zul'ra nodded.
"What do you mean by 'should be'?" Valeera was a Sin'dorei. Although she, like the Blue Dragonflight Tarecgosa, did not love nature, she was deeply troubled to see her former homeland's city overrun by the Undead, especially since her enemies were among them.
"Just as you said, divination is a means of obtaining information, but you must also know that the information brought by divination is full of uncertainty. After all, the legs of that Undead are on that Undead's own body, so this fragment of divination can only be used as a reference."
Zul'ra gathered the crystal ball back into his arms. Although divination magic is profound and unpredictable, it is also full of uncertainty. Moreover, some mages can use their strong intuition to know the truth and interfere in the opposite direction. This is why he stopped spying in time to avoid alerting the enemy.
"So what do you plan to do?" Valeera had to agree with Zul'ra's words; fate was indeed full of uncertainty.
"First, I need to determine the identity of this Elves Undead. Who among you can draw?" Zul'ra nodded thoughtfully.
"What, you want to put up missing person posters?" Tarecgosa was somewhat surprised to hear Zul'ra's words, trying to find the identity of the Elves Undead based on the portrait.
"This is too difficult to find." Anveena shook her head as well. Even Valeera, who was Sin'dorei, did not recognize the Elves Undead. Confirming his identity based on the portrait was like finding a needle in a haystack.
"No, I have some guesses about the identity of that Elves Undead. I just want to send the portrait to Lor'themar in Silvermoon City so he can confirm it." Zul'ra glanced at Valeera.
"I will give you his portrait." Valeera pondered the situation. She had already considered one possibility, so she replied to Zul'ra. As a seasoned thief, she possessed many skills, and drawing happened to be one of them.
"That's good. Now that the summer harvest is almost over, not only do we need to deal with this Undead attacker, but we also need to reclaim Deatholme, which is occupied by the the Scourge." Zul'ra nodded. If the identity of this Elves Undead is confirmed, then a war to reclaim Deatholme will probably be imminent.
Valeera quickly sketched the Undead attacker's face, and Zul'ra found people to quickly transport him to the Dawnstar Spire, from where the Sin'dorei would transfer him to Silvermoon City as fast as possible.
The summer harvest was drawing to a close, and Silvermoon City's reply arrived quickly. Lor'themar confirmed that the Elves Undead portrait was indeed Dar'Khan Drasil, the greatest the Betrayer of the Sin'dorei.
Dar'Khan Derahir had been confirmed dead during the battle to retake Silvermoon City, but his reappearance has left Silvermoon City baffled. However, they are destined to participate in this upcoming battle.
Silvermoon City replied to Zul'ra regarding Dar'Khan Drasil, promising to send someone to deal with the traitor and to provide support to the Amani in their fight against the the Scourge. Accompanying this reply to Zul'Aman was the Warchief's envoy, responsible for scouting Silvermoon City's Orcs Eitrigg and Tauren spiritwalker Bovar.
Zul'ra was already acquainted with Bovar and Eitrigg, so she warmly welcomed them and inquired about the Horde's current development in Kalimdor, as well as the Sin'dorei's potential in joining the Horde.
"Their race has endured many hardships. In their struggle for survival, they have done some shameful things, just like we once were." Eitrigg's assessment of the Sin'dorei's shamefulness stemmed from their Blood Knights stealing the Light, a blasphemous act no different from drinking the Demon Blood Orcs.
Because their race also had a shameful past, Eitrigg did not comment much or express his opinion. Of course, this also took into account Amani's attitude. Zul'ra had signed a secret agreement with Sylvanas, but had never made a public statement.
"But they are strong and have made changes. I think they have many good qualities that are very useful to us. What do you think?" Bovar was testing Zul'ra on behalf of the Sin'dorei. The Tauren's compassion had already won them Sin'dorei.
"I completely agree with that. As things stand, I have already written to the Warchief, explaining the current situation on the Eastern Kingdoms. Because of the deteriorating situation, the Horde must find the right way to resist, and the Sin'dorei can offer us assistance here."
"Although Amani and Quel'Thalas have had many disputes in the past, both the Aman'Shuli Council and I believe that, in the face of the greater good, these disputes can be resolved peacefully, and being under the same Horde banner should further ease our conflicts." Zul'ra responded to Bovar's probing, expressing Amani's attitude towards the Sin'dorei.
"That's perfect." Upon hearing Zul'ra's words, Bovar smiled sincerely. The biggest hurdle for the Sin'dorei to join the Horde was Amani; once that was overcome, their fate was sealed.
"Speaking of the worsening of the the Scourge, Zul'ra Jin, may I ask you about a human named Tirion Fordring?" Eitrigg turned grave as he listened to Zul'ra speak of the the Scourge.
