Useless Effort
Malkazaar, staring at the towering demon opposite Zul'ra, was momentarily stunned. The name sounded familiar... it seemed... it seemed Banehollow had mentioned that the demon who took Gorehowl's battle Gorehowl was that one, but he had mysteriously vanished. 🐝ൠ 😝🌷
"Mortals, submit, or perish?" Malkazaar looked at the mortals beneath him, who had just been bathed in blood, and tossed aside the crumpled demonic remnants he had been holding.
"I submit." Zul'ra spoke decisively, then raised her spear and pointed it at the great demon.
"If you hand over the stolen Gorehowl and are willing to fight to protect this world, then I will spare your life."
"..." The air froze for a moment. Malkazaar shook his head, his blue beard swaying. He felt as if he had misheard something. Was this mortal telling him to surrender?
"Alright..." Zul'ra looked at Malkazaar, who hadn't reacted yet, and a flash of fire appeared on the tip of the spear she was holding. A burst of fireball hit the man directly in the face.
Exploding flames covered the giant face. After launching her attack, Zul'ra didn't hesitate. She quickly sprinted forward, leaped into the air, and thrust her spear straight at the opponent's throat.
Zul'ra's entire attack was executed in one smooth motion. Just as the spear was about to pierce his throat, a giant blue hand suddenly appeared and grabbed the spear. Above his head, Malkazaar's giant face emerged from the drifting flames. His blue face was full of rage, and his downturned mouth opened wide as he roared.
"Mortal...!" Malkazaar grabbed the spear aimed at his throat, looked at the Trolls on the spear, and roared. He then reached out with his other hand, intending to grab and crush the larger creature as he had done to Zmodlor earlier.
Facing Malkazaar, who moved with the speed and agility of someone catching a fish, Zul'ra swung her arms, gripping the spear, and leaped into the air to evade Malkazaar's grasp. At the same time, she twisted her waist and swung her hand, unleashing a flash of cold light that struck Malkazaar's tiger's mouth.
The cold light pierced the blue skin, and the evil green blood flowed down. Zul'ra felt a significant increase in resistance as he gripped the sword blade; this was the first time he had encountered flesh that could resist the sword's edge.
A cut appeared on the tiger's mouth, from which green blood flowed. Malkazaar, however, showed no signs of life. Instead, he revealed a ferocious smile. Ignoring his injury, he grabbed with one hand and with the other, he took the steel spear that Zul'ra had left in his hand and thrust it back at him, attacking with both hands simultaneously.
The three-meter-long steel spear looked like a barbecue skewer in Malkazaar's hands, its length seeming very inadequate. However, Malkazaar, who was twice the height of Zul'ra, wielded it with unparalleled skill, speed, and ruthlessness.
As Malkazaar's hands came together, Zul'ra's body instantly turned into a puff of mist, disappearing between the two large hands. When she reappeared, she was already more than ten meters away from Malkazaar.
"Malkazaar!" Zul'ra landed on the ground, pointing his sword at the enormous demon, and let out a thunderous roar.
"Mortal, do you wish to banish me?" Malkazaar looked at the creature that had vanished from his grasp in an instant, a smirk creeping up his lips. A cunning worm.
"You are unwilling to submit to me, yet you are also unwilling to leave this world, which puts me in a difficult position!" Zul'ra looked at Malkazaar, who was responding with a smile, and her heart sank. This demon could resist expulsion.
"Mortal, I gave you a chance, but you didn't cherish it. Now... you've angered me." Malkazaar looked at the mortal who was still swaggering and had no idea that he was standing in the crater of an erupting volcano. He slightly clenched his huge hand, and a uniquely shaped battle axe appeared in his hand. The back of the axe was inlaid with a biological skull palate, the handle was wrapped in biological leather, and there was a hole in the curved blade.
"Gorehowl!" Zul'ra looked at the battle axe in Malkazaar's hand and felt a chill run down his spine. He had seen this axe before; it was in Grom's hands, but that axe wasn't as big as this one. It seemed that this demon had made some adjustments to it.
"You recognize this axe, right?" Malkazaar's pupils reflected Zul'ra's image as he toyed with the giant axe Gorehowl in his hand with amusement.
"I've decided to be lenient with you now. Give me this axe, kneel down and kowtow three more times, and I'll spare your life and let you return to the Twisted Dimension."
Faced with Zul'ra's mockery, Malkazaar remained silent. His reverse-jointed hooves began to run, and with an agility disproportionate to his massive body, he rushed towards Zul'ra. He raised his arms high and swung his axe down, but he felt something leap between his feet, tearing his calves in the process.
"Your sword can't even cut my bones." Malkazaar felt the injury on his calf, turned around and swung his axe horizontally, accompanied by a sharp, piercing whistle, and then burst into a furious roar of mockery.
Zul'ra swept past Malkazaar's crotch, slicing open his calf with his sword. He then leaped over the sweeping giant axe, but the shrill airflow generated by Gorehowl's unique shape almost pulled him under the axe. Fortunately, he managed to grab the back of the axe in time and then used the force to glide away.
"Yes, that's right, but your axe can't even touch me."
"Then let's try this." Malkazaar's two axe blows failed, and the Gorehowl he held in his right hand fell down. Then, he pointed his free left hand at Zul'ra, and a purplish-black shadow energy shot out from his fingertip. However, this energy ray was blocked by a ball of golden light released by Zul'ra.
"Completely useless." Zul'ra easily neutralized Malkazaar's shadow spell with the Sun Mirror and grinned.
"Utterly useless. I must say, I underestimated you, mortal." Malkazaar looked at the golden ball of light released by Zul'ra. His gaze could see through the light to the center, which was a smooth, round bronze mirror.
"But, have you done anything to me?" Malkazaar shifted his gaze from the bronze mirror to the mortal floating in the air, a sinister smile appearing on his face. He couldn't do anything to Zul'ra, and Zul'ra couldn't do anything to him either.
"Absolutely not. If that's the case, then what should we do?" Zul'ra remained very calm. He was fighting on home ground and had the advantage of home turf, but the concern was that if the battle dragged on, the surrounding coalition forces might suffer huge losses. However, he couldn't worry about that now; he could only hold off this great demon.
"I think we should try a different way of fighting!" Malkazaar tossed the Gorehowl aside, indicating that he was giving up on the fight.
"How can we compete?" Zul'ra looked at the demon who seemed to prefer intellectual debate to physical combat, gripped his sword, and descended from the air to a safe distance, staring intently at Malkazaar. All he could do now was stall for time, creating an opportunity for Jaina to unexpectedly drive him away.
There's nothing left at night.
