Victory of Wills
"We Eredar are a race that values spirit and will. In matters of strength, we are all equal. I think we should settle this with a battle of wills!" Malkazaar displayed unusual cunning. ✋♣ 🐠👣
"I'll say it again, how can we compare? Don't talk so much nonsense. It's like we're two women, evenly matched in strength. I don't have a single wound, while you have two gashes from my punches." Zul'ra continued her sarcastic barrage, nitpicking over minor details in her words and rambling on about unrelated things.
"You're more verbose than me, that's more like a woman." Malkazaar's lips curved down, but the smile in her eyes was particularly obvious, and she retorted sarcastically without giving in.
"Ha!" Zul'ra let out an exaggerated sound, but before she could finish speaking, she was interrupted by Malkazaar.
"Let's talk about the fight! I don't want to waste time on pointless arguments. I think you probably don't want to waste time with me either. There's a battle going on not far from us, and your people are in it, aren't they? And that mortal hiding in the shadows too." Malkazaar looked at Zul'ra, a smile playing on his lips.
"How can we compare!" Zul'ra pursed her lips. This demon was far more cunning than she had imagined. Jaina hadn't made a move yet, and it seemed there was no proper solution. She could only go with the flow and look for a breakthrough.
"Within the Legion, there exists a creature called Nathrezim, also known as the Dreadlords. They possess a unique magic that allows them to possess other people's bodies. I think we should test this magic against each other!"
"Open your body and let my soul enter, so that our souls can face each other and decide the victor with our will. If you win, then all else is irrelevant; but if you lose, your soul and body will belong to me," Malkazaar said with a smile.
"If I had to open my body, how would I?" Zul'ra replied immediately.
"With my mark..." Malkazaar extended his right hand, and a magical mark appeared in his palm.
"Since you defined the content of the competition, then I'll decide this part myself. I don't like your evil mark appearing on my body!" Zul'ra retorted, refusing to be led by the nose by the devil.
"Alright." Malkazaar looked at Zul'ra's rebuttal, thought for a moment, and decided to agree and withdraw the mark from his palm.
"You must abandon your current body and enter mine directly. Because I am taking a huge risk, you must also make a sacrifice to eliminate your threat to this world," Zul'ra demanded.
"Your opinion is very pertinent. So, let's begin!" Malkazaar's response was as straightforward as Zul'ra's. He didn't expect to have all the initiative; all he needed was for Zul'ra to duel him. He didn't believe he would lose this duel.
"Come on!" Zul'ra looked at Malkazaar, closed his eyes, and the invisible runes covering his body began to loosen. He had once used Arcane Magic to change himself, so that his energy would no longer leak out, but would accumulate in his body to obtain powerful immunity and vitality, protecting his soul from being easily invaded by external forces.
"Alright, then, here I come." Malkazaar looked at the straightforward and decisive Zul'ra and couldn't help but become excited. Green light appeared in his eyes when he met Sanra's gaze, and evil energy was instantly drawn out from his body, turning into light and shooting out along his line of sight.
"Zul'ra." As Malkazaar's soul, accompanied by evil energy, surged into Zul'ra's body as their gazes met, Jaina, who had been hiding in the shadows seeking an opportunity, could no longer remain still. She emerged from her invisibility and looked at the Trolls whose eyes had been pierced by the green light, her eyes filled with uncontrollable horror. This was too insane!
Green energy continuously surged from Malkazaar's massive body, flowing into Zul'ra's body. As this energy flowed out, Malkazaar's body slowly withered and collapsed, while Zul'ra's body twisted and swelled, green flames igniting outside her clothes, and she was forced to kneel down uncontrollably.
Jaina tried to interrupt the energy transmission and finish off Malkazaar beforehand, but Malkazaar had already collapsed completely, and "Zul'ra," kneeling amidst the raging green flames, had also been completely distorted.
As Zul'ra's flesh and tissues swelled, tore apart, and regenerated, they turned crimson. He grew to six meters tall, with thick black hair flowing down his back. A pair of black spiral horns sprouted from his forehead, and black bone spurs grew on his chin, shoulders, elbows, and other joints.
"Zul'ra." Jaina looked at Zul'ra, who was kneeling on the ground and had been transformed into a demon in a very short time. She suppressed the throbbing in her heart and the urge to destroy him, and tried to call his name.
In response to Jaina's soft call, "Zul'ra" stood up amidst the raging flames, pondered for a moment with the green flames in her eyes, and then looked down at the tearful, wary Jaina beneath her with a puzzled expression. After a long while, she let out a triumphant laugh in an unusual voice.
"I told you, you will face defeat, and I will end you with my death."
Jaina looked at the smug "Zul'ra" with a heart full of sorrow. She quickly put some distance between herself and the demon, but she noticed a golden light shining above "Zul'ra's" head. After "Zul'ra" stood up, the golden light quickly cast a beam of light, enveloping him in green flames.
"What's going on?" Jaina looked at the golden ball of light that was emitting beams of light that enveloped "Zul'ra" and couldn't help but feel puzzled. What puzzled her even more was that "Zul'ra" inside the beam of light let out a miserable scream and then collapsed to her knees as if she were being pulled, her whole body suspended in the beam of light in a very strange position.
Suspended in the beam of light, "Zul'ra" opened its mouth wide, its exposed throat, chest, and abdomen bulging like a goldfish blowing bubbles, spitting out clusters of green light. As soon as these green light spots appeared, they quickly flew up and floated into the golden light at the source of the beam.
As Jaina observed the strange turn of events, she approached with a heart in her hand. She saw that the golden light hanging high above was gradually thinning, revealing a round bronze mirror inside. The green light spots that "Zul'ra" had spat out were now disappearing into the bright bronze mirror.
As green light continued to emerge, Jaina looked at Zul'ra again and was surprised to find that the Trolls was recovering from its mutated state. Its bright red skin was fading, and its horns, bone spurs at its joints, and its gigantic body were all rapidly shrinking back.
Jaina looked at Zul'ra, who had regained her original height and appearance in the beam of light, and her face suddenly turned red. She then quickly turned away.
