Thrall Intended to Go to Outland
The aroma of wine mingled with songs, and amidst conversation and joy, the night passed peacefully. The following afternoon, Jaina bid farewell to Zul'ra and returned to Theramore to attend to her affairs, while her two hundred guards, after resting, returned to their posts.
After seeing Jaina off and having a conversation with Sok, Zul'ra returned to Orgrimmar first. She gave Thrall a clear account of the situation, mentioning Jaina's desire to form the Council of Tirisfal to fight against the Legion, her intention to connect him with Varian, and most importantly, Gorehowl.
Gorehowl was lost due to Thrall's carelessness, but has now been unexpectedly recovered. Thrall is filled with gratitude towards Zul'ra, who brought Gorehowl back, and also gives good news: with the help of the Sin'dorei, his messenger has officially connected with his Mag'har compatriots on the other side of the Dark Portal.
"This is truly good news." Zul'ra smiled calmly at Thrall's good news. The news should indeed be good, after all, Mag'har could increase the Horde's strength, but the thought of that infamous Garrosh Hellscream made him feel uneasy.
"... Zul'ra, I plan to go to Outland." Thrall looked at Zul'ra, whose smile remained unchanged, and spoke after a long pause.
"Have you made a decision?" Zul'ra looked at the Warchief solemnly.
"Not yet, I'd like to ask for your opinion?" Thrall shook his head directly.
"Have you asked Cairne Bloodhoof and the others?" Zul'ra blinked, pondering Thrall's situation. The Warchief now operates under a centralized Horde. Although the Warchief is the central figure, it doesn't seem to have much impact with Cairne Bloodhoof and the others present. If necessary, they can simply elect a new one.
"I asked them, and they hope I don't go because the Horde needs me. My departure might leave the Horde vulnerable, giving the enemy an opportunity." Thrall stared into Zul'ra's eyes, hoping to glean something from her.
"I agree with Cairne Bloodhoof." Zul'ra saw Thrall's gaze fixed on him and knew he had to give him a perfunctory answer. With Tauren Chieftain's words, it would be too dishonest of him to encourage Thrall to go to Outland. Besides, he couldn't force Thrall to relinquish the position of Warchief unless Thrall did so himself, especially given the Horde's current situation.
"But Mag'har is very important to us." Thrall looked somewhat troubled. He was happy about the Horde's prosperity, but along with this wealth after escaping their predicament, he felt increasingly uneasy about the internal situation of the Horde, especially Zul'ra.
"Is your trip to Outland really that important to the Mag'har?" Zul'ra pointed out the crux of the matter. Why was Thrall in such a hurry to go to Outland? The Mag'har would eventually return to the Horde Horde. If they didn't, what else could they do but join the Alliance?
"This..." Thrall paused slightly upon hearing Zul'ra's words, then a look of confusion appeared on his face. He had always considered himself the Warchief, and was also an Orcs. Was there anything wrong with caring about his own people?
"What I mean is, do you really have to go to Outland? Don't the Mag'har want to join our Horde? They'll come to Orgrimmar eventually, and then you can meet them!" Zul'ra repeated her meaning, looking at Thrall's expression.
"Yes, you're absolutely right." Thrall blinked his blue eyes. He said that, but he sensed a deeper meaning in Zul'ra's words. Our Horde —was she reminding him that the Horde belonged to everyone, not just the Orcs?
"That settles it then. Just send someone of high moral standing over there. I think Saurfang and Drek'Thar would be good choices." Zul'ra nodded.
"Alright then! Let Saurfang and Drek'Thar go." Thrall couldn't find any objections, so he could only nod passively, abandoning his idea of going to Outland.
"Oh, by the way, Zul'ra, I had our Foreign Minister send someone to Felwood to make contact with the Timbermaw clan's Furbolgs for Horde," Thrall, trying to find a topic of conversation.
"That's pretty good. I've dealt with those guys before. They're quite friendly, at least not as arrogant as the Kaldorei, nor as hostile as humans." Zul'ra nodded, paused slightly, and then continued.
"Speaking of which, it suddenly occurred to me that perhaps we could engage in diplomacy with many races, such as the Quilboar."
"Quilboar, can we engage in diplomacy with them?" Thrall's eyebrows twitched slightly as he listened to Zul'ra's words. Those hunchbacked boarmen covered in thorns were currently causing the Horde a lot of headaches. Those guys were very savage, and apart from a few Shu'halo, no one thought they could deal with them.
"What is diplomacy? Diplomacy is not just about making friends. My Warchief, the Quilboar are our problem right now, but we can use diplomacy to solve it." Zul'ra narrowed his eyes.
"Like Venture Company?" Thrall suddenly realized that Zul'ra's move was actually quite insidious, but it was surprisingly effective on the Horde.
"That's right. By the way, how are those Goblins doing these days?" Zul'ra nodded. The Quilboar were wreaking havoc throughout the Horde's territory. They destroyed farmland, stole grain, and attacked Horde settlements. Sok's Crossroads Camp was having a lot of trouble. Using the army to wipe them out would be too wasteful. It would be better to use some diplomatic tricks to settle things with them.
"They're willing to communicate with us. Lirath and Hamuul Runetotem have already gone to inspect their mines and started negotiations with them." Thrall smiled slightly. He felt great about the Horde's ability to subdue the Venture Company without losing a single soldier.
"That's good. That's how we should do it. We should make the most of diplomatic means and only resort to war as a last resort. We are not afraid of war, but we should not start it lightly. We should use our limited time to seek happiness for the people of the Horde." Zul'ra nodded in agreement.
"Zul'ra, your thinking is more like that of a Warchief than mine," Thrall said with a sigh as he listened to Zul'ra's words.
"I hold myself to this goal," Zul'ra said casually, glancing at Thrall seemed to be reflecting on something.
"..." Thrall stared at the impolite Zul'ra for a long time, unable to find a reply.
"Let's talk about your thoughts on the Quilboar!" Thrall felt a little awkward and abruptly steered the conversation back to what it was before.
"For this matter, find a clever guy to pick a Quilboar tribe and tell their leader that the Horde is willing to serve them as masters and offer them food and tribute, but hopes that they can demonstrate their strength and unify all the Quilboar." Zul'ra offered his idea, inciting infighting among the Quilboar.
"Will this work?" Thrall's eyes widened in disbelief. Did they think the Quilboar were idiots?!
I recommend a friend's book, "Shikigami Summoning System," which is a crossover anime series. The first world is Inuyasha. Those interested can check it out.
