Arrival at the Front Lines
Deciding to persuade the dragons to join the war and aid the allied forces, and for a dragon to say such a thing, was already quite an achievement. Zul'ra couldn't ask for anything more. Bolvar, Brann, Shandris, and the others hadn't considered this matter as much as Zul'ra had. 💢♣ 🐺👍
After some discussion, Anachronos went to summon the dragons to participate in the war, ensuring they would arrive on the battlefield before the battle began. Meanwhile, Zul'ra and the other three, who had completed their trials, turned southwest to rejoin the main force.
Under the dim light and amidst the swirling yellow sand, the group set off, with Brann Gryphon the way in the air, while Bolvar on horseback and Zul'ra and Shandris on foot followed behind. The four began their journey toward the heart of the desert.
Brann knew the way to Silithus. As a survival expert, he had an excellent sense of direction. Riding a flying Gryphon, he led Zul'ra and his group around the poisonous insects and creatures in the desert, and soon caught up with the main force ahead.
The last allied force consisted of the Alliance cavalry. Although they were numerous, they were all equipped with horses and carried sufficient supplies. They had already successfully crossed the desert, and some troops had entered Un'Goro Crater. As for Tarecgosa, she and the Kaldorei sentries had already arrived at the front lines ahead of time to deliver canned goods.
Un'Goro Crater is a pristine green jungle, but its thickets are fraught with danger, not only from ferocious predators and venomous insects, but also from invisible and colorless viruses. Even the strongest Warrior, without sufficient survival experience, will perish here without knowing why.
The allied forces were able to pass safely through Un'Goro Crater mainly because Druid paved the way ahead, and countless teams cleared a path through the dense forest. Even so, incidents of acclimatization problems, wild animal attacks, and insect bites still occurred among the humans. Fortunately, the Priest and Witch Doctor accompanying the army resolved these issues with spells and potions.
After catching up with the main force, and after two days of marching, Zul'ra and his men finally crossed Un'Goro Crater and arrived at the Valor's Rest, where the region meets the Silithus Desert. The main force continued onward, while Zul'ra and his men stayed at their encampment to study the situation.
Bolvar had barely settled into his camp at the Tomb of Warriors when he was surrounded by Archmage Tvorsh, Archdruid Hamuul, and Druid Lyer Starstrike, who were in charge there. Water was scarce at the front, and the troops had consumed a lot of food in recent days. With so many more mouths to feed, the food supplies would not last more than a few days as the men and horses ate together.
Bolvar was immediately faced with a tense logistical problem, which gave him a headache. After inquiring about some data on consumption, he asked Zul'ra for help.
After receiving Bolvar's assurance that the Alliance would replenish the food supplies, Zul'ra sent a telegram back to Orgrimmar stating that the Horde's food reserves, while ensuring their own survival, could support the Alliance for at least six months, or even longer, as long as the Alliance was willing to provide the funds and the Goblins could keep up with the transportation.
While the supply issue is somewhat urgent, it's not the most pressing problem. The most urgent issue is the mobilization of the allied forces. Although the battle hasn't started yet, the wild animals along the way and the alien insects in the Silithus desert have already caused some minor casualties among the allied forces. But that's not the worst part; the most unfortunate thing is that the situation is very chaotic.
The main problem with the allied forces was their personnel organization. Because Bolvar was not present and there were no orders from his commander, the allied forces inevitably became somewhat disorganized. Moreover, since all the armies were completely different, it was impossible to control the personnel.
Currently, the Kor'kron forces have arrived at the Scarab Wall along with the Ironforge mechanics. The other forces, apart from the cavalry newly brought by Bolvar and the soldiers stationed at the Valor's Rest and Cenarion Hold, include more than 10,000 human and Goblins soldiers who have wandered to various parts of Silithus. These soldiers are being led by their superiors to cut down the insectoids in the desert, ostensibly to reduce the number of insectoids in advance.
Cut off the insectoids ahead of time? Those insectoids in the Silithus desert have no direct connection to Ahn'Qiraj. Druid Lyer Starstrike, who has been here for a long time, knows some things about them. He says that those insectoids can be considered alternative intelligent beings. They have their own society, classes, and ethnic groups. Although they do not have language, they have unique ways of communicating.
The Cenarion Circle's Druid, who have been stationed in Silithus for many years, have had some contact with the insectoids and even some exchanges. For many years, everyone has lived in peace. However, if the Allied soldiers are allowed to cut them down indiscriminately, there is no guarantee that the insectoids will not join the ranks of the Qiraji.
In response to the Druid ' words, Bolvar, in his capacity as the supreme commander of the allied forces, immediately issued orders to the troops who were wandering outside, instructing them to immediately assemble in the area between Cenarion Hold and the Scarab Wall, or face military law. Zul'ra also added his name to the order and sent wolf riders to deliver the message, as some Goblins mercenaries were among the wanderers.
Compared to the somewhat disorganized troops, the racial and factional conflicts that everyone was worried about have not yet occurred. Therefore, after discussing with Zul'ra, Brann, and Shandris, Bolvar decided that, provided logistics could be guaranteed, the top priority should be to maintain discipline and coordinate the troops, rather than rushing into battle.
Bolvar's military capabilities were solid, and with the full support of Zul'ra and Shandris, the situation of each unit was quickly restored. In the allied camp set up in the desert, the Warrior began their daily drills, and Brann personally led the Dwarves members to the Scarab Wall to scout the terrain in preparation for the upcoming great battle.
There was much to prepare before the great war began, but there was also a lot of intrigue and backstabbing. The neutral Kaldorei were one thing, but spies from both the Alliance and the Horde were operating in the shadows. Zul'ra wanted the Dwarves ' experience in operating cannons, while the Dwarves were also paying attention to the Goblins.
With mutual objectives at stake, the Orcs spies mingled with the Dwarves tank crew and mortarmen under the guise of drinking, while the Dwarves used gold coins to gather information from the Goblins mercenaries. The two sides went back and forth, and Zul'ra also had to personally get involved.
Having long been familiar with the Dwarves ' firearms, Zul'ra went to the front lines of the Scarab Wall under the guise of inspecting the troops, thus gaining a legitimate reason to observe their tanks and mortars up close.
Leaving aside the Dwarves ' mortars, their tanks were completely different from the steel monsters that traversed the land in Zul'ra's memory. They were tiny in size, made of steel and wood, powered by steam engines, with three pairs of wheels linked by levers, and the cannons had a caliber of 45 mm. They looked extremely crude.
Although the materials and structure are very rough, the Dwarves tanks have their merits, namely that their steam engines use magical technology.
