Background / History
Tyrande grew up in Lorlathil alongside the Stormrage brothers. When Illidan and Malfurion prepared to study under Cenarius, Tyrande was preparing to leave for the Temple of Elune as an apprentice priestess. Illidan gave her a pair of Moonkin horns as a parting gift before her departure. 79 82
Her first journey to the Temple of Elune became a crisis when she was tasked with escorting the Moonkin Gugu and the unknown captive Vanidak. Terrified by their apparent escape plan, she drove the carriage to the temple at reckless speed and called for the guards' aid. 89
Vanidak later took Tyrande hostage to escape the temple. Though frightened, she tried to reason with him and secretly began gathering magic to retaliate. Vanidak teleported them away from Distel Stareye's Arcane Missile barrage, leaving Tyrande nauseated but alive. 95 96

Personality
Tyrande is compassionate even toward prisoners and strangers. She refuses to let Broxigar die in captivity, brings him food and water, heals his injuries, and recognizes him as an individual rather than judging him by his appearance. 149 She later insists that Broxigar has the same right as any other believer to seek Elune's guidance in the temple. 208
Her faith does not prevent fear or exhaustion. She becomes deeply anxious when Malfurion is endangered, struggles under the burden of leadership, and is vulnerable to unfamiliar shadow and Old God influence. Even so, she repeatedly regains her composure and acts for the people depending on her. 178 438 541 585
In battle, Tyrande can be uncompromising. During the fighting against Sartura, she and Cassandra use decisive, brutal tactics to ensure their enemy is truly defeated. 567
